Yep, it's a meet and greet, and fun little area to meet Mickey and the princesses. You should check it out - the kids will love it. I know how you feel with the rain... it poured down rain on us ALL DAY LONG the day we went to AK. We were SOAKED to the bone by the end of the day, but we stayed as long as we could and at least saw the shows. The parade was even cancelled that day. - mrsincredible

335.6 #12 3:45AM
All packed. I bought those rubber bracelets - think livestrong yellow ones. I used sharpie to write my cell and other info inside the bracelet. I'm trying to get my kids to memorize the number? But... We have a stroller and are a hand holding family! Half way thru our trip we will hit the Lego store at dd and my wild one can pick out a Lego if he earns it! - timon

Let me start by saying, we have never done any character meals or had many sitdown meals at DIsney. We went in April and decided to go without the meal plan. Honestly I think we did great. I think the cost of the meal plan is a lot, but if you are into sit down meals and character dining, then it might be worth the money. For our family, its just not. I think what we ordered and ate, we made out much better, and weren't restricted to where we ate. IOts a pretty personal decision...good luck! - ncjal
110.2 #44 8:36PM
I totally agree with ncjal!! We are the opposite, as we like to do alot of character and experience meals. We didn't do the dining plan in Oct, and it was SO expensive. The trip in Nov, we will do it for sure. But, for you guys, not eating a whole lot, it probably isn't worth it. My family of all boys like to eat, haha!! (Edited) - mrsincredible

Personally, I've never done the DP. We eat most of our meals at QS and some are just snacks. We average one TS every 2 days. One thing I've noticed over the years as the DP has become more popular, walk up reservations are nearly impossible! You used to be able to book a ressie at, say, SciFi on a whim if you were a little flexible. Now, good luck! I don't mint planning ahead, but I really wish I could still make some last minute decisions too. Especially if you're traveling with a newbie. They might see a restaurant and think it looks fun. But, of you didn't already book it may be out of the question. It seems there was a time when Disney saved a certain percentage of tables for walk ups. No more! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad
382.3 #6 10:58AM
Thanks for all the scoop . We do have a TS for every day planned with reservations. I also order from garden grocer and we have breakfast in the room. We're not going to do the dining plan but I am going to keep tabs for the future. I'll let you fellow mw's know when I get back! We allot 140 a day which includes everything. The plan was about 140 a day but without tip and only two meals so we shall see - not a big dessert family either - we'd rather eat chips! - timon

Along sunset boulevard near the tower of terror there's some really good places with pizza and chicken, etc. ABC Commissary is also good. That's right near Sci-Fi (Sci-Fi is a great restaurant experience if u can get reservations..it's really cool) Toy Story Pizza Planet has good pizza if you're headed toward the muppets. The Writer's Stop connected to Sci-Fi is a great stop for coffee, cookies, muffins, and treats and they also have couches and books, music, etc. Great stop in the heat. Enjoy wherever you choose to go! :) - mickeynme

If you go 30-45 min early, you should be fine. That theater is so big, I have never not gotten a seat. We always get a center seat, but really, I don't think there is a bad seat anywhere...you can see the show pretty well from all the sections. Just plan to be on that side of the park about an hour before, and then you can monitor the crowds. - mrsincredible

Do u need to purchase tickets for the show. I have never been to fantasmic. - yessy

We went 45mins early back in 09 in jan. & literally got the last seats all the way to the left....wasnt the greatest seats but I
was happy to be sitting down....but the show was only playing 3 times a week when we were there becuz it was off season

Most restaurants have chicken nuggets and I'm very happy for that since my little sister also just about only eats chicken nuggets, however there are a couple resturants that don't have chicken nuggets on the menu however all the restaurants do have kid menus(except for Victoria and Alberts since kids aren't allowed there, also at the family style restaurants everyone gets the same thing) - nodell111
