I believe the Premier pass is the only AP that must be paid in full no matter what. Two of my friends were going to renew their premium APs earlier this year but decided to get the Premier instead. Even though their previous APs had expired they had to pay full amount for the Premiers. - KermitFan13

Is spectromagic at WDW different than the MSEP?
I believe Spectromagic doesn't exist right now. The MSEP is a little different than the original one (music is faster and says "Disney's Electrical Parade" - BaseballMickey_CM

SpectroMagic stopped running at Magic Kingdom in 2010. There's rumors of it coming back late this year. To me, the parades are quite different. MSEP has characters from the past made up of mostly lights. SpectroMagic has more modern/familiar characters on floats that are lit. They have different music and different storylines. They are both fun, but I grew up with MSEP so I like it the best. - DisneyPhotoFan
