Would you visit DL for the first time during Sept/Oct for Halloween, Nov/Dec for Christmas, or late summer to experience it "normally", meaning not decorated in season, etc.? We did DW last year in Oct and loved it, so first instinct was More...
That's so hard to choose. I'd say either Halloween because the Halloween Screams fireworks are one of my favorites or Chrisrmas because there's nothing more magical than seeing it snow on Main Street for the first time. - Nicole380.2 #353 4-23-12 7:05PMLike Reply
I would say christmas because you don't have to buy another ticket for the halloween party - ChloesDadTim 32.6 #4248 4-24-12 8:42AM
I love both Halloween and Christmas equally so that's a tough call Probably a slight edge to Christmas due to how magical it is and the Santa at the grandc is amazing. I would def choose either over late summer! - JNewie226.4 #1286 4-23-12 7:06PMLike Reply
Christmas is so magical. I like November. But if you like heat nothing beats summer nights in Disney. - ready4vacation8.8 #7195 4-24-12 11:28AMLike Reply
You guys are so awesome!!! Since we have experienced DW at Halloween last year, I think we'll go to DL late November and experience the Christmas season. Though, I wished we lived closer to be able to go all year!! - mrsincredible401.8 #5 4-24-12 11:49AMLike Reply
And, just as I submitted this post, I thought Halloween again, lol. Why is this so hard?! :) - mrsincredible 401.8 #5 4-24-12 11:50AM
OK I am picking for you. You are going for the Xmas decorations. No, no arguing, you have seen the Halloween decorations time for you to see the Winter Decorations. - Lelundrial 339.5 #430 4-24-12 12:27PM
Yes! Plenty, mostly by characters and main street but if you need them for anything like proposal or anything you can ask and they will help - MarshaMouse2834.6 #15 4-19-12 5:19PMLike Reply
We love to collect character pics and autographs!! Last October, we met 60 characters in 5 days at DW. Are there a lot of M&G opportunities at DL? We can not wait to add to our collection!! What do you guys like to collect in the parks? : More...
Many more opportunities to meet characters @ WDW, but still get to see many of the favs at DL. - shodge12269.0 #830 4-13-12 7:44PMLike(1) Reply
Awesome!! Glad to hear, and already have reservation plans in mind for all the character dining DL offers!! Can't wait!! :) - mrsincredible 401.8 #5 4-14-12 3:51AM
Cute! I like to collect Disney Dog Pins whenever I can find them! Theme daughter isn't to picky but she collects pins too. :) - mickeyminnie314.9 #539 4-13-12 8:56PMLike Reply
Love the pins!! We have a few of the special edition ones, like from MNSSHP at DW last visit, but our boys are too young to really get into them. Can't wait for that day!! :) - mrsincredible 401.8 #5 4-14-12 3:47AM
Not to be rude, and it's more of a compliment the princesses look so pretty. I don't know what was going on this last month at DL. In particular sleeping beauty, she had on some funky eyeshadow - wongs40406.2 #8855 4-13-12 9:21PMLike Reply
I know what you mean, sometimes even at DW, you'll see the most beautiful Snow you could imagine at one of the parks, then see her again at another, obviously a different girl, and not nearly as realistic. I try to look past that to keep the magic in tact! :) - mrsincredible 401.8 #5 4-14-12 3:50AM
I think the meet and greets are more confined at DL, as in Pixie Follow, Princess Fantasy Faire, and Lightning and Mater outside Cars Land. Kind of takes the fun out of randomly finding them, I think. As for my collection, I get a fortune card from Esmeralda in the Penny Arcade on every trip. - mandigutterrose156.4 #2201 4-14-12 3:53AMLike Reply
That's cool!! I love hearing the unique Disney things people collect... I had never even heard of those. - mrsincredible 401.8 #5 4-14-12 4:07AM
There are plenty of characters that roam in unconfined areas in the parks. The awesome thing is, you can ask CMs to call a particular number to find out where if certain characters are out and the area they'll be in (: - Jacqueline 546.7 #204 4-14-12 5:04AM
Hi, fellow MW'ers!! Quick question... I tried to use the search button to search for fun facts, favorite things to do and see at DL, etc., in the midst of planning our first trip. And, I found lots of great posts, but can't see any of the More...
OK, duh... didn't try that. Assumed that was only if you wanted to add a comment, and I was just interested in reading them, ha! :) Trying it now, thank you!! - mrsincredible401.8 #5 4-11-12 5:05PMLike Reply
Yep, that did the trick, let the searching begin!! Thanks guys!! :) - mrsincredible401.8 #5 4-11-12 5:10PMLike Reply
Sometimes when you're incredible, the little things slip by.:-) - SorcererBHhaha408.5 #317 4-11-12 5:16PMLike Reply
In your opinion, which is better... WDW or DL, and why? :)
WDW since is bigger and has alot more( also thats where i go most of the time) but DL is also nice and it is the original and there is alot in such small space - nodell111153.3 #37 4-6-12 7:14AMLike(1) Reply
Never been to WDW so I'm going with DL. - Cherry91429.1 #291 4-6-12 5:43AMLike Reply
Same here never been to WDW, so DL is the best :) - MarcoInTheAz 598.0 #182 4-6-12 5:45AM
I like DL and WDW better the Apples and oranges. Although I like them all.

Although I have never been to WDW, I think it would be only fair to compare Disneyland to the 2nd Magic Kingdom park only. For me Disneyland is the original and the only one Walt actually walked in and worked on. Disneyland was the original Magic Kingdom until Eisner took that away from us to, along with the MSELP. - splashphotoCM880.9 #100 4-6-12 10:58AMLike Reply
Hi!! I have always hung out on the DW side, but we're planning our first trip to DL next year. Our boys will be 2 and 6. Polling the DL experts... what are your favorite/don't miss things we should incorporate into our 6 day trip??? :)
Hello! With 6 days, you should have no prob to do literally everything and go on multiple times. Don't miss out on Fantasmic! I'm sorry but have to say Disneylands is way better! Lol - TikiJOSEsWingman329.5 #472 4-5-12 5:16PMLike Reply
How wonderful to have 6 days! You will really be able to take your time and see it all! Make sure you check out some of the shows for a nice break and a chance to relax. Billy Hill and te Hillbillies at the Gilden Horseshoe, the Aladdin show in CA Adventure and your boys may want to do the Jedi Academy in tomorrowland. Of course World of Color is a must see as well, you will be blown away! Have a wonderful trip! - LisaMouse7531408.8 #316 4-5-12 5:17PMLike Reply
Well hello and welcome to the DL side! With 6 days in the park, you should have no problem riding all the rides. But show wise, defentaly see Fantasmic and World Of Color at least once each. Also a neat thing to do is ride the Lilly Belle. It's the caboose to the train that circles around that park. The cart was a gift to Lillian from Walt Disney and now it's used as a mini museum. So get to the train station as early as possible and ask a CM about riding the LIlly Belle. But most of all just have fun and don't feel the need to rush around. Have fun :) - JoeDownTheRabbitHole395.9 #336 4-5-12 7:08PMLike Reply
