I'm a SoCal girl that got transplanted to New Mexico.. I grew up 15 mins from Disneyland and those are my greatest memories! Once I had children of my own I kept the tradition by taking my kids every 2 years (some time more often :0)) since they were 2!
Probably ran out of gas XD. The passengers probably went to flos to get some gas, they should be right back ;) - CduckettC8.5 #7327 7-20-12 4:56PMLike Reply

It was the 30's. Things were tough. At least they were able to afford pants in the 70's at the park. Note the family pictures of father and mother on the wall in the short. - Westcoast 61.4 #3552 6-16-12 10:20PM
*INPUT NEEDED* my kids & I are very seasoned Disneyland guests, but we're taking a 1st timer in July! And I have only ONE day to show him why we love it so much! I don't want to just show him our favorites but I'd like everyone's opinion More...
I took my 16 year old neice last year and her favorites were Big Thunder, Matterhorn, space mountain, Star tours, haunted mansion, splash, and Indy. In DCA it was soaring, TOT, Aladin show, GRR, WOC, and Mickeys fun wheel swinging. She did go on everything and did enjoy them all, but those I listed she wanted to go on more then once. - Disneycrazymom99.5 #3041 6-4-12 7:14AMLike(2) Reply
You have to take him on the Indianan Jones ride for sure along with Pirates of the Caribbean - DisneyBat101.5 #3016 6-4-12 7:01AMLike(1) Reply

Need more details first. What are his interests? How old is he? Is he a foodie or a spendthrift? Etc. - LittleAprilShowers471.0 #257 6-4-12 8:47AMLike Reply
He's 17, open to all things I suggest. I just don't want to show him things "we" like but what others enjoy too! We've gone so many times that we hit what we like only... Lol - rmuniz_pixiedust 6.5 #8570 6-4-12 8:50AM
You can't go wrong with Indy, star tours, space mountain, etc. I love the parades, shows, and so forth, but you have to take into account what he likes. Also, maybe consider a tour. - LittleAprilShowers 471.0 #257 6-4-12 10:37AM
Thank each and every one of you!!! I'm putting them in my "to do" list! I'm just so excited to take a newbe!! And he's agreed to wear ears and a "my 1st time" pin!! ;0) - rmuniz_pixiedust6.5 #8570 6-4-12 1:47PMLike Reply

Does the GC have it's own monorail? Or is it the same track but has a stop at the hotel?
No monorail for the GC, it only goes through, doesn't stop at the hotel - dizzycat1969132.9 #40 6-19-11 6:34PMLike Reply
The Monorail does not have a dedicated stop at the Grand Californian. It does stop at Downtown Disney at the stop that used to be known as the Disneyland Hotels stop. No change to the stop location, just lots of changes around it.
Hope this helps... - garrlusdland52.2 #3702 6-19-11 6:37PMLike Reply

1st time buying my ticket as an eticket... Anyone ever had issues with them? Or have suggestions?
Works great just go to any entrygate and exchange it for the pass. after getting the card size pass I do suggest taking pictures of the pass numbers and signing it in case it gets lost and someone kind returns it - E-Ticket772.1 #128 6-19-11 4:07PMLike Reply

I'm living on MW!! 10 more days and counting! I love that everyone on here is a Disneyland Fanatic!! Just like me! :0) question... Anyone ever stay at CG on concierge before? If so was it worth the extra $?
I have. It's nice if you like to go back to the hotel during the day and chill out for a minute. They have snacks throughout the day (ooh, and coffee in the morning). And if you have kiddos, they do story time for them at night with milk and cookies. I would say, go for it. - BrookeA610037.8 #4069 6-18-11 10:31AMLike Reply
Last summer my mom , brother & I all went w/ our nephew for his 1st trip to DL (my mom promised him when he turned 6 she would take him). It was my 1st time staying @ one of the resort hotels, and it was amazing! They met us @ valet in the front of the hotel, took us upstairs to a desk & went over everything. There's even a lounge area up there for concierge level only- you gotta use your room key to get in. I affectionately referred to it as "the secret snack room". They had pastries & such out during the breakfast hours, then midday they had a ton of fruit, finger sandwiches, & cookies, & in the evening they had a happy hour. I don't recall the snacks @ that hour though. You could go in there anytime during the open hours (opens & 6 am, don't remember closing time) & get little glass bottles of soda, & bottled water. It was great for us since we had a 6 year old who seems like he eats non stop! It was the only availability when we booked our stay, however, my mom was super pleased. Afterall, it had been 20+ years since the last time she was @ Disneyland w/ a 6 year old! :D - belle42114.4 #5764 6-18-11 10:36AMLike Reply
I booked early when they had specials, it was something like an extra $150 a night.. We go every 2 years since my daughter was 2, shell be 18 this year so I felt like we had to do it big!! I hope she enjoys it! My hubby & 14 year old son pretend to not be as excited as us! Lol - rmuniz_pixiedust6.5 #8570 6-18-11 10:54AMLike Reply
We're going in 11 days, but staying at the DL Hotel through DVC. We want to try out the new pool slides. We usually stay at the Grand, and everything about it is wonderful! - cinderelli325.7 #495 6-18-11 11:18AMLike Reply
