Happy Tuesday. I carefully considered my goal for today. I want to tell myself "no" and follow through. Such as, no you don't need to eat a bowl of Mac and cheese as a midnight snack, an apple is a better choice. I struggle with that.
I did achieve my goal. I told myself "no fast food". I had errands to run and didn't want to stop for lunch. Instead I stopped for a drink and ate when I got home. I also went on a walk. It's been a good day. - Mrs.mouse420.7 #307 5-21-13 8:54PMLike(1) Reply

I did not achieve my goal today... I knew I was going to pick up Nothing Bundt Cake buntini's for a meeting tomorrow, and they always have samples out. My goal was to get in and out without taking a sample (it is a no-no what with the no grain thing)... I thought I would make it until the sweet gal behind the counter offered me a sample while I was waiting for my order and before I even thought about it, the sample was in my belly. I'll do better tomorrow. Hope you achieved yours today Mrs.mouse! - Duchess73294.0 #644 5-21-13 8:25PMLike Reply
I say no to a lot of things. Samples and food from the food pushers at work. I assume that unless I know who/ when the food/sample was put out - it is likely "suspect" meaning it might have germs on it from others touching it. It's extreme but if I convince myself it might be contaminated it's easier to say no. I also think about how much more I can get on my plate with a different choice. I need to get my weight down due to age and trying to lower my blood pressure so it is easier to say no out of health fears. Remind yourself that eating clean ( within your diet ) will get you to goal faster. It's been a while, but I cooked it once. I put it in the oven on a baking sheet. Cut length wise and seasoned with Olive Oil, salt & pepper. Then you can use a fork and it will shred. Maybe search Pinterest for some good recipes. I cant remember how long to bake it in the oven. - Fanatic4Disney258.0 #925 4-29-13 11:39PMLike Reply

I put it into the steamer on the stove wait bout 7-10 minutes an then fork shred it out onto a plate. I squeeze a Meyer lemon and a paper thin bit a butter with lemon pepper and herbs sprinkled on it. Maybe a dash of Parmesan on it too. - Plumiegirl3322.9 #10 5-6-13 10:22PMLike Reply

I punctured holes in the spaghetti squash and boiled it for about 30 min. I then allowed it to cool, cut it along the equator scooped out the seeds, then used a fork to pull the strans. I put the squash into the sauce I had made and allow to cook for 30 min. I find that if its cooked more its not as crunchy and takes of a more pasta like texture. I'm glad you're making progress and getting back to yourself! You may want to try and force yourself to eat a few small meals instead if just one to keep your metabolism in check. I know what you mean though about a loss of appetite. So proud of you! Once you are cleared for exercise make sure you start slow, walking, etc. Your body has been through a lot and even though you may be feeling better it will take awhile to heal. - LisaMouse7531409.1 #317 4-5-13 6:05AMLike Reply
I'm glad you are doing well. Getting healthy is job one for you. Just be sure you are eating enough, even if you have to force yourself to add in a couple of healthy snacks during the day. You want to keep your metabolism burning and if you only eat once a day, you won't burn any fat because your body is going to try and store it all to make it to the next meal. The snacks don't have to be big, even a handful of almonds or a small apple. I hope you continue to feel better and better. OMG Jackie! How could a "friend" say anything negative after a person has surgery!?! That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. Obviously, she wasn't the friend that you thought she was. You take it easy and don't "sweat the small stuff"! Put your energy into getting better so you can have fun with your adorable daughters and husband! I've been thinking of you all week! So sorry to hear about the complication - but it will be better soon. REST! Thank you MDM, my sister said it was one of the worst things she has ever heard anyone say. My husband and I have no secrets and he said that I don't need to know. For now I am not going to focus on her and just focus on getting better.
Why is it so hard to allow others to get/do things for me? My husband is willing and capable, and I feel guilty for asking for anything. I need to work on that. - Mrs.mouse 420.7 #307 2-16-13 1:09AM

Mrs.Mouse I am glad the surgery is over. You take it easy & let everyone spoil you! Listen to your Dr. & your hubby. Even if you are feeling better before the time you are ok'd to do something just wait & heal completely. For those who are on or have done WW, how many points do you get? I've been looking into it. I would get 26 points. I'm not too interested in a diet plan that leaves me hungry (could be my problem right!). Any thoughts. Thanks.
I personally love WW! The last thing it is, is a diet. You should never be hungry with WW. I did it for 20 months, went from 47 to 27pts and lost 137lbs. It's the greatest thing I ever did. Like we what was mentioned, if you eat nutritional dense foods, then you won't get hungry. I had, 8 for breakfast,9 for lunch, and 10 for dinner and never ate snacks, cause I never got hungry. They also give you 49 weeklies to spend on whatever you want. I always splurged on the weekends. Great program! I stopped because I'm pregnant with my first baby. Another benefit because I couldn't get pregnant before. Good luck! - Curlygirl943.6 #15716 11-3-12 3:56PMLike(1) Reply
Congrats on improving your health and on your new family member! - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.2 #285 11-3-12 5:37PM
I'm not sure what mine would be on the current program they have. It used to be 25 or so. I think that very plan includes a period of adjustment. My family has followed WW off and on for years. If you choose your foods based on nutritional value (lots of water, veggies, fruits, lean protein, and fiber), you really should not be very hungry, especially after the first week or so. In fact, I was often full and had to consciously look for a few more points to reach my allotment. But if you're eating foods with a low nutritional value, then those 26 points are gone very quickly. The great thing about WW is that there is a lot of freedom, so people are less likely to feel deprived and binge. You can literally eat whatever you choose as long as you stay in your point range, but they obviously want to encourage people to eat healthily most of the time, so healthy foods are usually lower in points than unhealthy foods. :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar436.2 #285 10-23-12 6:12AMLike Reply
Do you feel hungry throughout the day? - Mrs.mouse420.7 #307 10-26-12 12:17PMLike Reply
When I'm off from work sometimes. But then I might still have a bowl of cereal after my working out. Or I might have a decent size salad with the lunch. I might also have a chewy granola bar in between. They usually stay in line with my points or barely go into my flex points. I'm fine at work cause I'm constantly moving. At home, I think it's more eating out of boredom not actual hunger. - ElectricMayhemMom 310.6 #555 10-28-12 8:25AM
I started with 41. I'm now at 39. I always have points left over and I never feel hungry either. It has worked really well for the short time i have been on it. The minimum points you can have is 26. Make sure you are calculating the correct way with the points plus system. If you need help with it let me know. I can put you info in my WW calculator and get the correct amount for you. - ImAlwaysCrazy646.4 #166 11-2-12 4:01AMLike Reply

Back at you MM! As far as I'm concerned, I just hoping to get BACK on plan! I've failed miserably since I got home (and I hated the way I looked in my pics at the park! I may have fit into the clothes, but they sure didn't look the same on me as they did last year!). Jenny Craig is calling my name - time I visited her again! - msdizmaui518.9 #223 10-8-12 1:56AMLike Reply

You're so sweet! After polishing off another package of the frosted cookies from Wal-Mart, I went to Jenny and got the week's worth of food. I'm NOT going to go off until I lose this 15 (or maybe more) pounds!!! - msdizmaui 518.9 #223 10-8-12 10:23PM
