My name is Lenna, my husband and I absolutely love Disneyland! Our kitchen and bathroom is Disney themed and with our annual passport we visit DLR about every 2/3 months.
There's way too much standing around going on in the foreground. Move your feet and wiggle your hips, people! Show that Dormouse some love! - susieQzee480.9 #247 5-11-13 9:58PMLike(1) Reply
So who here has stayed at the Desert Inn on S. Harbour Blvd.? We are staying there on our next Disney trip and I was just curious about other people's experiences. Is the complimentary breakfast the regular pastries and muffins or is it a More...
I stayed there once, didn't get bit by anything and didn't get sick so *thumbs up* - donnievegas1127.5 #73 3-18-13 10:04PMLike(4) Reply

I have stayed there many times. The location is great. The rooms are good. The breakfast is not that good. The indoor pool is great when the weather is a little cooler. Enjoy your trip. - VanDisney342.0 #427 3-18-13 9:39PMLike(1) Reply
We stayed there once which was one too many times. The room was not clean, the pool was small and over crowded and just an overall bad experience. We now always stay at the Tropicana Inn right across from the main entrance. Very nice people, clean and close. - MikeyMouse64.2 #3515 3-19-13 11:29AMLike Reply
I usually stay at Abby's Anaheimer Inn. Its a small, older hotel..but its just enough for me. Plus a short drive to the structure or Toy Story lot. - Armenda994.9 #89 3-19-13 11:36AMLike Reply
Is mothers day weekend usually pretty crowded? Does anyone know?
Mother's Day is crowded! I'm hoping to go and celebrate my birthday and my first Mother's Day! Baloo....want to be Little Skipper's first JC skipper? - IDVandalSkipperCM1299.1 #63 3-14-13 9:10PMLike(6) Reply

OK fellow MWers I need some advice (again). My husband and I are taking a trip to Disneyland next saturday.. it's a 6 hour drive so we will be leaving around 1am to get there before the park opens, however, we won't be able to check into More...
Downtown disney has 3 hours free parking, 5 with validation (get something to eat in dtd). You aren't supposed to park there for theme park, but no one will check. - bluefairy627.4 #174 2-14-13 3:27AMLike(2) Reply
That's A Great Tip! Do You Think If We Were To Park At Dennys Or Ihop (Eat There Too Of Course) They Would Check? - LennaH 120.4 #2734 2-14-13 8:57AM
I don't know for sure, but I would guess they would... otherwise, what's stopping people from doing that and filling their lots? I agree with meridafan--they'll let you park there for sure. - KylaShea 533.2 #214 2-14-13 9:03AM
I don't know why your hotel won't let you park there regardless of when you arrive. Maybe call to ask. Good luck, and have fun! - meridafan1039.5 #83 2-13-13 3:48PMLike Reply
Depending on the bookings, you may be able to check in anyway. We got to the DLH at 10am our last trip and they let us check in. As far as parking you should be good with a pass, the hotels are cool about that. - PixiPirateMaid118.9 #2760 2-14-13 1:57PMLike Reply
YES!!! Hubby and I figured out a way to take a random trip to Disneyland on the 23rd!! Just booked our hotel at the hacienda inn and suites! Has anyone stayed there?
My wife and I will be there also for our four year anniversary - Chumash28764.1 #130 2-12-13 2:11AMLike(1) Reply
I have stayed here and would not again, even for the cheapest price in all Anaheim. Mold in the shower and the placed seems kind of seedy. I would spend 10 or 15 dollars more elsewhere. The Econo Lodge is nice and is fairly cheap. - SDKimble5.7 #9481 2-11-13 10:54PMLike Reply
I am sorry to hear about SDKimble! We have stayed there many times and been thoroughly pleased with the rooms and cleanliness. We have gone the route of the "least expensive" and wondered what we were thinking. We have taken the most expensive rooms we could afford, had a wondeful time and wondered what we thinking. Hands down we always choose the HoJo!!! - Boundin425.4 #299 2-12-13 1:06AMLike Reply
Boundin, was your comment for the HoJo or the Hacienda Inn? - Linzee 519.0 #225 2-12-13 8:24AM
Is anyone here a vacation club member? If so, is it worth it?
We are and really enjoy it. It is sometimes hard to get rooms when/where we want, but we only want to stay at the Grand and it has the fewest DVC rooms. We are going to Aulani this July and were able to get a one bedroom villa for a week even though it's not our home resort. Persistence paid off! - cinderelli325.7 #495 1-24-13 6:45PMLike(1) Reply
Members for 20 years, wonderful investment although as mentioned above, often difficult to get the local, GC villas. Really has paid off for us overall, though - Drrmddl55.8 #3648 1-24-13 7:07PMLike(1) Reply
I love it. We are going to Disney World again this August (we went last Oct!). Its nice to check out and see a bill $0.00! The best investment we've made in a long time; if we have a year where we can't afford to travel, we stay at one of the 3 Disneyland hotels. - CastawayjoeCM279.2 #739 1-24-13 6:52PMLike Reply

Hi everyone. So I booked a room at the Desert Inn and suites for our next Disney trip a couple months ago and I'm just now reading the reviews and they aren't so good...has anyone else stayed there? Was it a good experience?
I've stayed there countless times too; nothing fancy, but as close to the parks as you can get without doing Disney & sleeps many; parking can be tight, and most is in underground lot-but totally doable on the cheap. Manager is Carlos (haha-used to stay a lot when my kids were young and he'd give me his best rate-but AAA usually good). They have viewing deck for fireworks. Try HoJo too. - TinkerSchelle650.5 #163 1-4-13 11:39PMLike(3) Reply
Pretty much took the words outta my mouth - exactly my thoughts on the pros and cons of the Desert Inn and Suites. Another pro is that they are probably the most affordable suite-type rooms within a reasonable walking distance. - mouseprincess 307.9 #573 1-5-13 8:47AM
We've stayed there a couple times and had no real complaints. Complimentary hot breakfast and a clean bed so wasnt too bad. Plus really how much time do you actually spend in the room? - DisneyMe2Death607.0 #181 1-4-13 6:43PMLike(2) Reply
True. I Heard It's Noisy...Is That An Issue? - LennaH 120.4 #2734 1-4-13 7:22PM
We didnt have a problem with noise and we stayed there I think 3xs within the last year or two. - DisneyMe2Death 607.0 #181 1-4-13 7:36PM
We stayed there's few months ago. They upgraded is to a suit which was unexpected and nice. The walk to Disneyland wasn't very far and the breakfast was way above par. The only down side was that our suit was located on the lobby and right next to the elevator. One of the rooms in the suit was pretty much unusable because it was soooo noisy. You could hear everything that was going on in the lobby. Other than that it was great. I would stay there again. The beds were super comfy too. - Belleslibrary230.4 #1239 1-4-13 10:52PMLike Reply
Cheap places are the best! As long as they have hot water, you're good

I have only dined at Blue Bayou and Wine Country Trattoria, and I didn't care for either one. For a birthday meal I would aim for the Carthay Circle. - Lelundrial341.7 #429 12-31-12 7:59AMLike(1) Reply

there is a runned down (rental home that was overcrowded) in my house track that is for sale at 330,000. Complete fixer but it is only 3 miles away and that is as affordable as you can get for a home in this area.
