Hey, we are going to WDW in November and we are having a final look at the restaurants for the dining plan. Do you guys recommend any places to go and also what are the chances of turning up on the day at certain restaurants and getting a table. I.e the Greek restaurant on the boardwalk and I can't book a table
Hi! So exciting to be planning a trip! My favorite restaurant at WDW is in Epcot...teppan edo! So yummy and really fun atmosphere! I have had luck walking up to restaurants but I guess it just depends...you can also keep trying and hope that someone cancels between now and then! Good luck :) - brittandkell  372.6 #525 5:19PM
I think there is always a chance but you may have to wait a while. We were there in march and we did have ressies but at some, people were able to get in and at some they said no. You are more likely if there is just the two of you. It also depends when in nov if closer to thanksgiving the harder it would be. At Epcot during food and wine we enjoyed using our snack options at the different countries and not even bookin dinning but we also like teppan edo, Germany and Paris. At mk we only had lunch at BOG but it was very good and pretty inside. Ak tuskars is really good we have had breakfast and dinner there and yak and yeti. Studios love the brown derby. One of our all time favorite spots is the hoop de doo at fort wilderness. Fun and food is awesome. It is two credits but your beer and sangria is included along with tax and tip. Dtd we like earl of sandwich qs, house of blues and raglan rd. happy planning. - mmddgp  413.9 #16 3:01AM
The Greek restaurant on the boardwalk will be closing late Sept so that's why you are unable to book it. Some of the less popular restaurants you can get a walk up reservation if it's not too busy but you will wait at least 30 minutes. Keep checking reservations as people change their mind and cancel. - Andrea84  633.7 #7 7:24AM

Hi, we are visiting WDW in November and wondering weather typhoon lagoon will be open. We went in November 2012 and it was closed and we really hope we don't miss out on this again
Hi yay for your trip! - 5disneylovers  856.3 #4 3:42AM
I want to say it follows the same schedule every year where Typhoon Lagoon closes for a few months and then Blizzard Beach closes, but one of them is always open. Blizzard Beach is a lot of fun too if Typhoon Lagoon is closed during your trip! - Andrea84  633.7 #7 4:07AM

Have they changed the design of the refillable mugs for 2014 at WDW? I don't want the same mug as I got last time in 2012
Ha ha I know what you mean. I know they did not last year. - 5disneylovers  856.3 #4 5:31AM
Our 2012 and 2013 ones were different. Different lid colors too. - MicheyMouse  323.8 #675 6:36AM
I feel ya. We got the same design for 2012 and 2013. Only thing I noticed different were the lid colors. I was disappointed I like getting different mug styles. - Lelundrial  461.2 #396 7:28AM
Me too! I don't mind paying for them if they are different but we went 4 x last year and one of those were with the kids so I have 14 mugs with the same design😢 - mmddgp  413.9 #16 7:45AM
That was for 2013 then add 2012 -- oh my goodness. I wish the would devise a drink tab to add to a mug you bring or buy from the parks - mmddgp  413.9 #16 7:50AM
I just hope that when I go in November they are a different design I already have 2 of the current ones. Failing that il have to buy a Christmas themed mug or a Halloween one. A tad annoying x - GeorgeENG  8.1 #265 12:11PM

Hi guys, my dad is going to WDW on Monday and is staying and the fort wilderness resort and campground. I have a question about the buses at this resort. Does a bud run to the MK from the resort or a boat? And does a direct bus run to Epcot or do you have to transfer at the transportation centre? Cheers
Never stayed there we've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, best I can recall there is a bus and a boat that runs to MK. - DonaldfiveO  28.6 #122 5:43AM
I believe at the campground you ride an internal bus to the bus stop that then takes you to the parks. I'm pretty sure there is a water taxi that takes you to MK. - DizneyGirl  602.2 #8 6:12AM
Yeah like DG said. There's an internal bus at the resort and camp area (only one at WDW which does this). That will take you to the lodge or the Outpost by hoop de doo and from there you can grab a ferry. Give yourself about 30-45 extra minutes because of the process. - IndyandMarion  1237.7 #1 6:37AM
So does this mean you can catch a bus to Epcot and the other parks from the resort or do you have to transfer? - GeorgeENG  8.1 #265 5:08AM

Hi MW, I've found a limited time offer for WDW for 2014. The resorts we can stay at are: old key west, Saratoga springs, or Caribbean beach. Which is the best and why. We are really stumped. Cheers
We love old key west it's very quiet and relaxing. Saratoga springs is nice and a walk from Downtown. It's my home resort so I really love it there. stayed at Caribbean beach. - 5disneylovers  856.3 #4 4:52AM
Never stayed at Caribbean beach - 5disneylovers  856.3 #4 4:55AM
I am staying at Caribbean beach right now. We love it! Very beautiful and very good food! - amandapanda3  38.9 #105 5:11AM
Do you all have time to go check out the other 2? I'm bias to them both I don't think you can loose. Old key west is really big you can take a boat downtown. - 5disneylovers  856.3 #4 5:19AM
Saratoga is a little out of the way. Personally, I'd say stay at Caribbean. - IndyandMarion  1237.7 #1 7:13AM

Hey MW, is there a Disney resort you recommend to stay in. We stayed in POR in earlier this month and loved it but it was too big. Is there any resorts that are a mud to stay in?
PO French Quarter is much smaller than Riverside. It's my favorite moderate resort by far! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  867.1 #3 11:16AM

Is the soft opening of fantasyland still open?
Off and on. Typically it's been around 330-4pm.. - IndyandMarion  1237.7 #1 2:57PM
Indy will it still be limited on 12/4? We have BOG ressies that night. - mrsincredible  809.0 #5 3:10PM
It's after the previews are done so I'd assume they'd just have it open during regular park hours. The grand opening day is when it'll have limited hours, if open at all to regular park guests. - IndyandMarion  1237.7 #1 4:22PM
Why don't they just open the darn thing. Enough already with the soft opening. - 5disneylovers  856.3 #4 3:51PM
Would you rather have them use time with it running so they can pinpoint problems (which they're all ready having, looking at you Clams) before the grand opening? Or just open it without testing and making sure it's up to speed and actually ready for people? - IndyandMarion  1237.7 #1 4:21PM
I don't know The soft openings are short periods if time how can they truly fix or identify all the problems. If its up and running more of a chance to catch it - 5disneylovers  856.3 #4 4:24PM
They will get it right soon & then stay open !!! - skcanfield  470.5 #12 4:24PM

Hey we go in 6 days and I'm getting the final bits together for our trip. We are staying for two weeks my only concern is running out of money. Is it expensive to shop and buy snacks on site? We have the Disney dining plan so sit down meals are covered but snacking through the day may become expensive. So is it expensive?
Like the others said, you'll be surprised at the amount of food you get at meals we used some snack credits on water and had some left over. Of course that was before I heard of Dole Whips, the bakery, the candy apples and other goodies MWers have shown me here. Maybe I need more money!! Lol - lala03  67.6 #78 11:19AM
Depending on what ddp you got , they include snacks and you will be surprised at how much food you get with ddp we sometimes feel like we had too much lol as far as shopping that just depends on what you want I find that there is a lot that is affordable just depends what your looking to buy , no matter what you will have a blast:) - tracsant  949.8 #2 10:29AM
So what food will come under snacks then?. I imagine that will include ice creams or lollies of some sort - GeorgeENG  8.1 #265 4:25PM
Graham crackers pop corn. I forget. - 5disneylovers  856.3 #4 4:33PM
Vanilla waffers - 5disneylovers  856.3 #4 4:34PM
It's most things that are under $4... pretzels, dole whips, chocolate bananas, etc, etc. - BagGal  224.1 #31 4:44PM
There is so much. We have used it for smoothies frozen coffee drinks fruit veggies and dip cakes cookies icecream sundays bags of chips candy pretzels both baged and soft hot pretzels. We try and stay away from using it for pop at parks an use it for an actual snack or treat but sometimes you are just so full with food you need to use it in your drinks - mmddgp  413.9 #16 4:47PM
Dole whips! Candy, cookies, fruit, drinks, cupcakes and bunch of other yummy stuff! - nodell111  166.4 #46 7:20PM
In Epcot go to Germany caramel shop or France to the bakery. Everything under $4 is on the DP. Most of the time on the menus it will have a little DP next to it. Enjoy!!! - mzdisnee  451.1 #13 5:22PM

Does anybody know when the test track ride will be reopen-ing? It's my favourite ride in WDW
I think its Dec 2. - TheDad  65.2 #80 11:49AM
I think it's November 30 but you were close, also I think soft openings will be starting in the end of either October or October - nodell111  166.4 #46 12:54PM
If you look on the MW dashboard, you'll see "Disney calendar" and it shows park hours plus ride closures. It's still showing the refurb through 11/30 but dlmickeymousecm posted a while back that the refurb had suffered some possible setbacks so who knows if the schedule will remain accurate. - JetsamsTwin  379.9 #18 1:12PM
I come home on the 15th of November. I was hoping it was going to be open for epcots anniversary. - GeorgeENG  8.1 #265 10:05AM
Spaceship Earth wasn't even open for EPCOT's 25th. Believe me, Michelle and I give one of our Imagineer friends, who worked on the latest SSE, flack for it all the time.  - IndyandMarion  1237.7 #1 5:53AM
