I don't know that prices will go down for tickets as they seem to increase every year to stay competitive with other area theme parks. We never stay off Disney property so I can't recommend the good neighbor hotels. Those should provide shuttle service and probably sell park tickets but I would suggest you look into value resorts on WDW property. You would have shuttle service and even free parking anywhere on Disney property if you rent a car and you can take advantage of Extra Magic Hours for WDW resort guests to enjoy exclusively. Check on the All Star and Pop Century resorts. You may find them to be a better choice over the good neighbor hotels. - Jalex239  379.8 #7 9:53AM

We went in April, and I don't think the prices were any different. Each hotel has a bus that you can take to the parks if you are staying on property. I don't know about off site hotels. - ncjal  116.8 #44 9:41AM

About off site:  check out Bonnet Creek, haven't stayed there, but have done a lot of research and it seems affordable and is ON Disney property with busses to and from the parks.  Also go to bookit.com and look, many of the local hotels offer a free shuttle to the parks, just read the details! - DizneyGirl  354.6 #9 10:15AM

Ticket prices never go down or go on sale. They do, however, increase in price annually. For resorts I would compare Pop Century (on property) to some of the non-Disney owned hotels across from DTD. Our family has never been to DL but we hear how magical the experience is. We find our visits to WDW to be quite magical as AP holders. I think you would enjoy it also as long as you have enough time to pace yourselves and take everything in. Welcome!! I've never been to DL but i know the differences. WDW is really unique in the fact that it really is like its own little "world" unto itself. There's so much to see and do that there is no way u'll ever be bored. I heard that DL is more simple and condensed. While WDW is definitely more expansive, that's what makes it so fascinating. All of the resorts and parks and stores and various activities make it special because they're all different and those differences are what makes it so awesome. There are tastes suitable for EVERYONE no matter who u are. It's def not overwhelming if u give yourself enough time and pace urself. At least 5 days is good,or possibly 7 if u can to really have time to savor it. It really is magical. Maybe not the same as DL, but magical in its own unique sense.
