Would anyone know a good online travel agency that I could look into that would allow me to do things from home? One that's actually worth looking into and that isn't a scam?
I have not done any type of travel agent schooling, but I've heard it's not fun, it's a lot of pressure and not what you think it'd be. Β If you do decide to do it, I wish you the best of luck and hope what I've heard is wrong :) - DizneyGirl  568.7 #8 7:14PM
The school program was a piece of cake! It was the industry that was not all it was cracked up to be. Then... the Internet came and it was all over! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  827.2 #4 7:20PM
Sorry, I meant the actual job part. - DizneyGirl  568.7 #8 7:58PM
Well, I did it way back in the 90's, so I'm sure it has changed. I have an Associate degree in Air Transportation Business and later completed the College of Disney Knowledge via fax! (Boy, that makes me feel old!) - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  827.2 #4 7:17PM
So is the College of Disney to become a TA? - mrsincredible  785.1 #6 8:02PM
No, the College of Disney Knowledge is to become a Disney destination specialist. I went to a community college to earn my degree in Air Transportation Business. It took another year for an agency to hire me... because I didn't have any actual experience. (No, but I had a degree! How do you get experience if no one will hire you?) - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  827.2 #4 8:08PM
No doubt! - mrsincredible  785.1 #6 4:41AM
Well you have to become a travel agency before Disney allows you to go through the college of knowledge or sign up under an agency. Unless you really know the travel industry, I would advise finding an existing agency. I am a TA now :) - wickedale  319.3 #700 11:30PM

What I'm looking for is a way to work from home if I have to and work for disney too if that makes any sense.

Well, I can barely post at all, it takes about 5 minutes of trying to post. I can't post any photos at all. I can only post in the Hub, and I found that some MWers are usually in the WDW Talk section and don't see my posts, since they are in the Hub. Others with the same phone are having the same issues. - DizneyGirl  568.7 #8 5:20PM

If I may, I've sent updates that needed to be addressed a while ago. But yes, as some have mentioned, we're the lesser of the two because we don't make the team as much money, if that makes sense. (I'm going to be completely honest, it took a bit of a push to get WDW MW into production as it was. I'm surprised it took off as much as it did). Our biggest issue is the biggest issue of the park: Most people on here are not in the area. Looking at it I seriously think its about 95% out of state, 5% in Orlando/State. Keep emailing the team, that way they know that this app is actually cared about and we're not using it simply for a chat room. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:04PM

So you are saying it would be worth it? And would work out for the better with as many as we will have going?
Well depending on the time you go there could be great discounts on your room. You can save 10% on some sit down dinning and 10 % on shopping and you have to make sure you will get another trip out of it or it is not worth it. If you decide to do a dinning plan you can get a little break on the price of that but not much. - mmddgp  386.3 #17 11:34AM
Oh and with a total of 7 you would need 2 rooms so that would be double discount. - mmddgp  386.3 #17 11:36AM

In my opinion (as someone who is a 7 hour drive from Disneyland and opposite coast of WDW), an annual pass makes up for itself in 2-3 visits if staying at least 3-4 nights each time. If you know you will go that much, get the passes. I have also heard of people buying an annual pass for one member of the group for the discounts if you are going only once and can get better priced tickets for the rest of the group. You really just need to price it out both ways - duckymomo  35.3 #4865 11:51AM
Here is what I do. I call directly to Disney travel. Have them work the numbers both ways with and with out. There are also times that there is no annual pass discount available so you have to be careful. When we went in march the spring discount was actually better than the annual pass so definately run the numbers - mmddgp  386.3 #17 12:25PM
You get a discount on the resorts as well - 5disneylovers  836.3 #3 3:54PM
I don't really k NJ ow about whenwe wwould go. We wouldn't be able to do the APs until tax time 2015. So it would be after that but a good note 2 of the 5 kids would be free so that helps out and maybe just maybe we could squeeze 2 trips in if the did the APs - BBNMickey  20.6 #151 5:45PM

Help me out here so if we plan a trip for 7 for 2 adults and 5 kids. Pretend the 2 adults are APs when we purchase tickets do we still purchase tickets for all 7 or will it be for the 5 kids because the 2 adults are APs?

I wondered about this too. I even shared it. I knew it wasn't a real Disney page, but many companies not affiliated with Disney do give Disney prizes away from time to time. Sad that these scams are out there. - DizneyGirl  568.7 #8 6:04AM
lol noone is just gonna give you 4000 worth of stuff for free by just sharing a a page. ahaha i laugh when people fall for these i see my friends always reposting these and im just like really? delta is not going to give you a free plane ticket just for liking and sharing the page. i can understand if its like a raffle and you must enter your name and email but when its just asking you to share a page its just some dumb kid trying to get likes lol. no offense to anyone thats fallen for this - Hendizl  2434.1 #42 7:02AM
by the way the one i always see is the airline ones. those are the most popular one. 200 lucky winners will win a free airline ticket with delta just share this page. LOL - Hendizl  2434.1 #42 7:04AM
I'm actually part of a few FB communities for health and they do give out items for their followers. Kind of like a RAK here. However, this is a pretty big prize, so I see where you're coming from. Just got to do your homework! - DizneyGirl  568.7 #8 7:58AM
i am as well part of a couple but nothing as big as this. it usually like an item or something small. any big item is usually given away by the news stations. which i always enter and never win grrrr lol someday my luck will be good .i have a friend that follows all the news stations and always wins stuff - Hendizl  2434.1 #42 8:15AM
