This time last year I was celebrating my birthday in Disneyland!! As soon as I got home, I began to plan a trip for the same days this year.. Unfortunately things came up and we had to change the dates to a few months later... It's a sad thought knowing I was supposed to be there right now!!

I'm looking for an e-reader to keep me occupied at the airport, on the planes and for the long car rides and was just wondering if any of you have one and if so what kind? I've heard so many mixed reviews and must say I'm at loss for which one to choose. (I know this isn't directly disney related but it IS for my Trip!) thanks in advance!
Except there's "I read a lot and I don't want to lug around all these heavy books on vacation". I'd go with a Kindle over the Nook. Barnes and Noble rumored to be cutting ties to Nook. - timonT  209.1 #23 11:34PM
There are these things called books. Which you buy in a book store. Better than any e-reader out there. Reason one: Oh darn, my book died. And my charger is in my checked luggage - IndyandMarion  913.8 #1 11:32PM
If you have an iPad and I believe the iPhone you can get the kindle app for free!! - firestorm64rt  30.5 #102 11:23AM
I would get an ipad! I have some books on the kindle app! And it's just amazing! And if you don't feel like reading you can play in your ipad or go online - lakerck  160.4 #34 12:46PM

Another quick question! Just out of curiosity, what do you normally do on you first day after you fly in? We get in at 715 am which is plenty of time to do things! However I'm not sure if its a good idea since we'll have been traveling since 3 o'clock pm the day before AND it's 3 hours ahead there so it'd be 4 am our time..
We usually get in about 3-4 at the resort, so we often checkin, unpack, have an adult beverage and a great meal. - ally  440.5 #4 6:58PM
Next trip and last trip we got there too late to do much but sleep! But if we only have a half day left when we arrive we do a dinner show, DTD, or MVMCP/MNSSHP depending on the time of year. - mrsincredible  404.1 #5 7:15PM
On our last trip we took the red eye from San Diego and got in at 6 am. We were at our hotel by 7:30 and they had a room ready. We all layed down and slept for about an hour then got up and headed to MK. We took it real slow and had a relaxing day and then went to bed early that night and then got up early the next day to make it to open the next park. - mzdisnee  221.3 #21 11:14PM
We always check in and go to DTD for our favorite quick service EOS! - girlonfire  35.2 #89 12:08AM

Well after much discussion and surprisingly little begging, my boyfriend agreed we can stay in the world for the last week of our trip! It's looking like POR.. What are your thoughts of this resort?
I'm not a fan of POR... I'm a POFQ fan! Contrary to what everyone said, I find POR loud, loud, loud! Anytime POFQ shared a bus with POR the guests were so loud! I never had that problem with POFQ. I've the same experience in the POR food court, loud! The bus service is much better at POFQ too. On shared buses they are always the first stop. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  394.7 #6 10:01PM
I've stayed at both sides and llke them both. They are both peaceful and pretty. The FQ side is smaller and easier to walk to everything, but the Riverside has a nice bar/lounge area and table seating restaurant. - ally  440.5 #4 6:56PM
We love POR! We love the grounds, love the activities, love the food court. The only drawback is that it's HUGE, so you have to do a lot of walking from one place to another. Buses come quickly, but if your room isn't near one of the stops, it's kind of a pain. I'd pay the extra to stay in a preferred room which would be closer to the bus and food. I hope you enjoy it. We've stayed there twice and enjoyed it both times! - BagGal  150.4 #40 6:40PM
Thanks for the imput everyone! I think it's a good choice for us, we have a rental car so bus stops aren't an issue, even if we end up taking the bus, were already doing so much walking around the parks I'm sure the extra 20 mins a day won't matter! And if not.. He's strong... He can piggy back me 😉 - allieenicolee  6.3 #8813 11:37PM

Help!! I'm trying to decide whether or not to get the park hopper option, or the water park option. It's myself, my boyfriend and his parents who will be going and we're going the last week of September and the first week of October. We're spending 5 of the 14 days in the park
Goodmorning. That is a great time to visit and the weather is still wonderful. We used to do both when the kids were teenagers and we were younger, now we do the base tickets withe the fun and more. 14 days is a great amount of time to be there and don't know what else you have planned but if you do the fun and more we break up our days with 2 days in park and a free day( being a water park, DTD or Disney quest ). We just plan on staying in the parks all day. Enjoy. Happy planning - mmddgp  178.2 #28 10:38AM
The reason why I like park hoppers is because I can stay at whatever park is open late. It's a tough decision. Good luck. - 5disneylovers  342.7 #11 11:12PM

Go park hopper. Nice to be able to bounce around during the day. Taking the buses in between the parks is not bad. I have seen some recent posts on the DL side of people whining about the buses. I guess I am not spoiled since I don't own a car, but it is very easy and you do not lose a lot of time. - Lelundrial  341.2 #429 11:25AM

I'm just wondering what exactly the free dining plan includes.. We were thinking of staying off site in a vacation home so we could go for longer, but we are trying to see if it would be worth staying in the park for the days we are doing Disney and switching To a home while we are doing things outside Disney, has anyone else done this? And suggestions?
The good thing is that everything is paid for and you can eat whatever you want. All you need money for is tips, baggage, and souvenirs. - disneyworldsbiggestfan  35.3 #88 7:08PM
Oh forgot to say its my boyfriend and his parents that in going with, so we are also trying to decide if we should suck it up and share a room or get 2 separate rooms or get a suit... So much to decide! Help!! - allieenicolee  6.3 #8813 6:12PM
There's three different types of dining plans to add to your magic your way ticket: 1) Quick service dining plan including 2 quick service meals and 1 snack, 2) Dining plan including 1 quick service meal, 1 table service meal, and 1 snack, 3) Deluxe Dining Plan including 3 meals whether table or quick service and 2 snacks. - SarahJoshDisney  69.5 #3412 6:28PM

Who is your favourite character to take a picture with and why? I love Doug! He's the cutest ever. Second I think Winnie and friends, because I loved them growing up an it brings back those feelings seeing them again :)
Idk I love pics with all the characters. My favorite is dopey and I never see him for pics. I know he's around for the holidays. So when I go in 2014 around Christmas my mission is to find him - Schramke  313.9 #14 6:25AM

If I were to go to Disney world at the beginning of December, would you suggest I attend mickeys Christmas party? Were all adults going I'm not sure if it's more catered towards children but this will be our first trip there and we're coming from Canada so this might be not only the first but the last as well and I don't want to miss anything!
Yes I encourage you to do. Since it is ticketed the crowds are lighter. We went on the Aladdin carpet ride the first and only time during that party. We loved hitting the hot chocolate and cookie stops. There was also some merchandise only available during that party. - Lelundrial  341.2 #429 2:55PM

Ok so I need some advice! My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Disney for next Christmas time, his parents are going to come as well so there will be 4 of us and we really would like to stay together, but the suites seem to be pretty pricey and we'd like to stay for about 2 weeks so I was just wondering if I could get some opinions on the best place to stay, Disney property a good neighbor hotel or rent a condo?
Go to bookit.com we got a 3 bedroom townhome during spring break for $85 a night. It was real nice too. Garage, screened in porch, nice kitchen, formal dining, living and family rooms, washer and dryer! - DizneyGirl  354.5 #9 1:42PM
Staying on property is probably the best choice, if you really want to stay at a suite I think the suited at AoA are supposed to be nice and not to expensive, when you stay on property you can also take advantage of the magical express, transportation to the parks, and extra magic hours! How ever of you don't want to stay at a Disney hotel the hilton bonnet creek is really nice and not to expensive it's not on Disney property but is in fact the only piece of not Disney property that is right in the middle of wdw so it is close to the parks even though you can't go to emh - nodell111  153.3 #38 7:16PM

Hello everyone!! I'm from the disneyland side if mw, but am happy to say my WDW trip is finally being planned :) I was just wondering for those of you who have been too both dl and WDW, what is your favourite difference between the 2? Anythings that I shouldn't miss in WDW that they don't have in dl?
My fave differences are: Everest (amazing, worth the trip in itself!), all the extra magic hours if you stay at a resort (which I recommend for that reason, the amazing transportation, and the beautiful properties), and the Little Mermaid show at HS! And a bunch more! It really feels like you're in a private world there! - iwannaBAprincess  14.2 #5788 4:17PM
Welcome to this side! My favorite difference is that potc and BTMRR are longer and better at dl but wdw has more parks, test track, rockin roller coaster, and animal kingdom which only has one thing that is the same as dl(well two if you include the rainforest cafe) which is bugs life Epcot and Hollywood studios are also very different then dl and dca but ak has the most differences Also I like the wider variety of restaurants as resorts and the fact that is bigger but it's also nice sometimes that dl is small also it was a park Walt actually got to go to - nodell111  153.3 #38 4:19PM

My favorite attraction, ToT is way better at WDW and the queue for TSMM is much better too. Of course DL doesn't have a World Showcase (best during the Food & Wine Festival). Finally, DTD is way better (& bigger) at WDW than DL. It's a destination all in itself! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  394.7 #6 7:23PM
