I'm thinking of making our trip an anniversary trip as well. Our ten year anniversary is 2 months later and this would be a fun way to start celebrating. If we tell them it's an anniversary trip do they do any special touches? Anyone have experience or tips for this? I didn't mention anything when I booked the trip, so should we say before hand, or when we check-in? Thank you!
I guess tell them in advance... Sometimes they might gave you a room upgrade (there might be a possibility sometimes). You never know what will happen, just give it a try. - otilegna  1750.7 #67 10:38PM
You might get a "Happy Anniversary" card from Mickey in your hotel room. - GoofyMom77  469.3 #386 1:29AM
Oh my goodness it can be magical. We celebrated our 39th in march this year. I told them it was anniversary trip at the beginning. No room Upgrade but did get a card left I'm our room. I wore my button every day. We had the dinning plan so we would have got deserts anyway but at le cellar we got a special one with happy anniversary topping, at brown derby we got and extra petite dessert and champaign on the "mouse" at Tony's we got special dessert also with happy anniversary. At a drink cart we got free drinks. At Epcot we got called into a office from a cm that had a special call from Minnie Mouse wishing us a happy anniversary and we received a special card along with VIP seating for the American singers in the balcony. A very awesome celebration trip. So make sure you wear your button. Enjoy your trip! - mmddgp  377.2 #18 4:37AM

Taking one day of our trip to resort hop. Which ones are fun to look at and explore? ...So far I'm thinking Art of Animation, is that were they have big statues of characters all over? Or is that POP? And The Boardwalk. We will start the day with breakfast at Boma AK Resort and end with dinner at CA Grill at The Contemporary. Also want to fit in the ESPN sports park. Any tips or suggestions on how  More...
AoA is a must see! I like to explore the Boardwalk area on my Epcot day (there is a back door from the World Showcase). AKL is a must on your Boma day! I also like to visit the Grand Floridean, Polynesian, and Contemporary on a MK day. I usually take the monorail, but there is boat service too. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  807.4 #3 4:15PM
Ooooh, doing Boardwalk on the Epcot day is a great tip! I didn't know it was that close! 😊👍 Thank you for all the great tips! - Sweet_Irish_Cream  3652.5 #24 4:18PM
Yes, the Boardwalk is a short walk from the World Showcase (or a boat ride from HS). - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  807.4 #3 4:20PM
for the value resorts, ALL OF THE RESORTS GOT A BIG STATUES! and it depends on the theming! (All-Star Resorts can be themed as SPORTS, MUSIC or MOVIES!) Movies is my fave among the three because of the FANTASIA Characters (personal fave). you can also see Mighty Ducks, Toy Story, 101 Dalmatian at Movies... - otilegna  1750.7 #67 4:25PM
then do not forget Art of Animation (with Cars, Lion King, Finding Nemo and Little Mermaid)... plus the icons of the decades at Pop century! - otilegna  1750.7 #67 4:27PM
then for the moderate resorts, i have no idea at all because never been there! Deluxe resorts, i love the architecture of the 3 hotels around MK... ALSO, it is a must see is the MARY BLAIR MURAL at CONTEMPORARY RESORT! - otilegna  1750.7 #67 4:28PM

EPCOT food:: The plan for our Epcot day is not to make any reservations, and just kind of eat around the world. Trying lots of different places as we go. Any recommendations we shouldn't miss? 😊🍴
Table service or quick service??? Norway is one of my fave food to try bcoz i love their fish salmon. Lol. Also, the moroccan baklavas and mint tea! - otilegna  1750.7 #67 11:50AM
I think more quick service so we can keep moving and exploring. 😊 We might only have one day for Epcot. - Sweet_Irish_Cream  3652.5 #24 4:51PM
Try the spice road table. They say its a QS at morocco - otilegna  1750.7 #67 4:58PM

Ok, I'm now overthinking my dining reservations. So far I have Brown Derby, the Drive-In, Cinderella's Royal Table, California Grill, Boma for breakfast, Yak and Yeti, 1900 Park Fare for breakfast, and we are going to try for BOG for lunch. Anything else to add that is a must for dinner or breakfast (I LOVE breakfast!) or maybe better ideas than what I have? I love a good theme restaurant 😃 Th  More...
Quick service... FLAME TREE BBQ at Animal Kingdom... the chicken and ribs are sooooooooooo juicy and huge servings (there must be a secret formula for their food) - otilegna  1750.7 #67 2:53PM
I was looking for a good quick service at AK...thanks :) - jamiesli  8.1 #263 3:09PM

I will thank MW For suggesting that place to me before! I always pass by that place before. - otilegna  1750.7 #67 4:57PM
Those are some really good choices , Ohana has a good breakfast and it's with LILO and stitch located at the Polynesian and whispering canyon at wilderness lodge is also a fun western theme also really good for breakfast ( be sure to ask for ketchup) 50s prime in HS is good for lunch or dinner , the atmosphere is really fun and the CMs are great , Rays in MK is a good QS Epcot has a lot of really good QS you could just snack on things around the world showcase - tracsant  913.4 #2 2:08PM
Must have for me is Akershus Banquet Hall (lunch or dinner). I personally love their appetizer buffet (consist of cheese, fish, salads, breads, olives... i love their fish lol). Also the entree are awesome (themeatballs are yummy and big)... lastly their desserr! (Rice pudding is yummy) - otilegna  1750.7 #67 2:51PM
Also it is a princess character dining... the princesses are lovely and cheerful here - otilegna  1750.7 #67 2:51PM

🍴🌹A couple questions on Be Our Guest: 1) Do you need to make reservations for lunch? I heard it's quick service for lunch. So then is it under QS for the dining plan? 2) I heard you only meet the Beast at dinner. But is he anywhere else in the park? 3) Is "the grey stuff" available at lunch? ....Anymore tips? 😃 Thank you!!
I can't answer all the questions, but here's a few answers. Lunch is QS, dinner is TS. I'm pretty sure you can use the dining plan. You can meet Beast occasionally at Epcot with Belle. Others will know more . . . - DizneyGirl  549.8 #9 11:30AM
Grey Stuff is served on the Master's Cupcake at Lunch, also at Dinner, there may be a few new adds to the dinner menu with the Grey Stuff, when they first opened, it just came directly on your plate - now they use it as frosting on other desserts or as the bday surprise if you have the celebration noted on your reservation at dinner. You can get a FP plus for lunch, or walk up, no ressies for lunch are accepted. They have hour long waits if you go at lunch time with no FP. Lunch is QS on the dining plan, TS for dinner. You can only meet Beast at dinner. - mrsincredible  769.9 #6 11:44AM
The grey stuff is on top of a very yummy dissertation at dinner. It is like a rectangular shaped canoe made of chocolate cookie with chocolate mouse inside and then topped with the grey stuff. - mzdisnee  437.9 #14 10:06PM

I'd love to have dinner at California Grill and see the MK fireworks from there. My time choices are 5:45 and 9:10 for the night we'll be dining there. If I take the earlier time, is there still a place we can watch from there even if we finished our meal awhile before the show starts?
This is something I'd love to do one day, please report back to us and tell us how you liked it! - DizneyGirl  549.8 #9 2:08PM
If you go to the 4th floor which is pretty much the main floor they have an area outside People go to view , or maybe go to the bar after your done - tracsant  913.4 #2 2:08PM
I hope you able to adjust with the Florida timezone (Eastern time). Dinner around 9:10 might be late but just give it a check everyday, there might be an opening with the time you want - otilegna  1750.7 #67 5:32PM

What parks would you say need two days, and what parks could be good with one?
MK and Epcot need at least two, HS and AK you can do everything in one day at each. - Andrea84  627.0 #7 12:58PM
You need two days (if not more) for Epcot. Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom can be done in one day if that's all time allows. If you enjoy AK, consider going back a second day. There are a lot of hidden gems that will take more time to find. Magic Kingdom is best over two days (although they do not need to be full days). This is why I love park hoppers! That way, I can mix it up! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  807.4 #3 12:59PM
Well Epcot should be 2days. (If you really wanna experience the Future world and world showcase). Animal Kingdom should be 2 days as well (or 1 1/2), as it is not available in Disneyland... Hollywood studios can be 1 day (go during the EMH so u can max the entire day). mk can be 2 days as well - otilegna  1750.7 #67 1:00PM
ak closes early so park hop after the closing, or recharge first at your hotel then go park hop - otilegna  1750.7 #67 1:01PM
Epcot needs two long days :). Hollywood Studios only needs one if there's not a special event going on. Animal Kingdom can be done in one day, if you are there from park open to close, one year we just did 2 partial days and loved it. As for MK - We almost always do 1 whole day and 2 partial days. - DizneyGirl  549.8 #9 2:12PM

My father in law just freaked me out about the weather the first week of Sept. He said it's the hottest ever, and it will be miserable 😒
Like I've said we've never been in Sept but always went the very end of Aug for our anniversary but I'm not a fan of the heat and it was just to hot and uncomfortable and definitely affected what we would do , but some people dont mind the heat , just bring lots of water and take advantage of the extra magic hrs for early am and late pm when it's a little cooler , and maybe try to find other activities for the afternoons - tracsant  913.4 #2 7:33PM
We went Sept 15 in 2012 for a week and it wasn't that bad, definetly wasn't as hot as when I went in July a few years before. Was in 80's during the day I think. - txdisneymomma  79.1 #68 7:54PM
We have gone in September and it was a bit warm for us...but we are a tad older than you. 😉 we still had a great time-ponytails and shorts!! - MicheyMouse  319.7 #693 1:33PM
As Tiffany said, it really depends on the person and what weather they are used to and like. I mentioned we went several years in a row the 1st/2nd week in September, yes, it was hot, no not the worst ever, that'd be June, July and August. Most of the rides have cool areas to wait and all the stores and TS restaurants do, it's not like you'll be in the hot the entire day. Plus, in early September there is NO wait for almost all rides, the most we ever waited in September to ride any ride was 20 minutes. I loved it. We now go in June, but wish we could still go in September. - DizneyGirl  549.8 #9 1:52PM
Love this answer. Sounds perfect! Thank you!! - Sweet_Irish_Cream  3652.5 #24 1:58PM
You are welcome. I want you to know you will have a magical time, even if it's hot. In September we always took time mid day to relax at the pool too, so try that :) Or make your lunch reservations at a TS restaurant! - DizneyGirl  549.8 #9 2:06PM

We got the free dining plan with our reservations (8days). The one were its, 1 QS, 1TS, 1 snack and a drink(?) per day. Something like that. ....What are your dining plan tips and tricks? Thank you so much!! 🍴😋🍝🍧
I posted about this on the DL MW, but just in case you didn't see...we had the same dining plan, & I had TS reservations for each day we were there. SO much food with this dining plan! Long story short, we had 18 QS meals left on our last day because we were pretty much always too stuffed to eat more! We ended up using our QS meals to purchase snacks to take home with us. I suppose my only advice would be spread out meal times so you feel the need to use your QS credits unlike us! - GrimGrinningAmanda  660.1 #238 8:21PM
Yes totally agree. We try and eat an early lunch and then dinner later is you don't feel too full - mmddgp  377.2 #18 8:28PM
Wow. Did you forget you had lunch ? Did you eat breakfast - 5disneylovers  776.0 #5 5:46AM
That's the one we have. We either do breakfast in the room and do qs and ts in the park or we do breakfast as the qs take snacks into park and do a good dinner - mmddgp  377.2 #18 4:12PM
Room service is considered like a TS right? - Sweet_Irish_Cream  3652.5 #24 8:08PM
Well we don't do room service at all but we will bring cereal from Home, granola bars and fruit, then just buy milk from the food court. Works out well and we don't have to wait in long lines at breakfast - mmddgp  377.2 #18 8:20PM
Should there be a discount on a room at Pop in December since free dining is not offered during my week? - lghr  36.0 #111 6:39PM

Do they always do a period of time were they offer a free dining plan with booking a trip? I heard that maybe they would announce it late spring? But I'm not sure how much to count on one being announced. We are pretty flexible on our dates, so I thought I'd wait to see what deals come up.
Usually they offer it in Sept, Oct, and parts of November. It seems like those deals pop up about 3 -4 months out. If you make your reservations now and the deal comes out they will honor the deal and make changes. The only thing is then you may be switching dates which may interfere with any dining res you may have made. We made our Nov reservations last July and really didn't have a problem with dining reservations because we went during a 'slower' time. Hope this helps. - MicheyMouse  319.7 #693 1:18PM
It's not guaranteed, but it has happened for many years. It does get to be less and less, like last year, there really weren't many dates at all in September.
