~RAK~RAK~RAK~ We are addicted to these cuties! While adding some to our collection this weekend, we bought an extra (SURPRISE) one to share with the wonderful people of MW! To add yourself (or a friend), just tell me the one character you would love to spend the day with and why. My munchkins will draw a name out of a hat on Friday, 4/24. Good luck!
So cute!  Please add me for violetincredible9.  I'd spend the day with Mrs I, cuz that'd just be awesome! πŸ‘Š - mrsincredible  982.9 #4 2:43PM

Any advice for first time car renters at WDW? We are renting for the first time because we want to try CBR but we don't want to deal with the 7 bus stops. I'm actually looking forward to trying it! I know if you drive to MK, you have to park at the TTC. Any other advice? What do you like/not like about driving around WDW?
We have always rented , I've never used magical express . I personally love it , I love to go where I want when I want without dealing with the buses. Though if they are still working on DTD maybe take a bus there. At MK you can also try parking at one of the monorail resorts that's what we usually do if we aren't staying at one , so we could resort hop while going to MK. At Epcot you can park at one of the resorts also & enjoy walking around them. Parking is always free as long as you are staying on property. It's so easy just to run downstairs after getting our luggage at the airport , hop in the car & go.  - tracsant  1127.2 #2 12:41PM
I'm so glad to hear this!  Parking at the resorts is great advice!  I wasn't sure if we could do that. Great to know. Thank you! - BagGal  235.7 #31 1:47PM
I always rent a car from Alamo which is on property.  That way you can still use Magical Express back and fourth to the airport.   I drive to all the parks except Magic Kingdom because I don't want to deal with parking in the lot and then taking either Monorail or boat back to the parking lot. - Pooh147856  253.4 #28 12:45PM
Exactly what I was thinking about MK. Do you take the bus those days or park at resorts?  Thanks for your help! - BagGal  235.7 #31 1:50PM
We take the bus to the Magic Kingdom because sometimes we are there all day - Pooh147856  253.4 #28 4:31PM
On MK day we LOVE to park at Wilderness Lodge and take the boat over to MK, it's SO peaceful and relaxing (to me anyway)! - DizneyGirl  716.6 #7 4:51PM

Has anyone had Thanksgiving dinner at California Grill? I'm trying to decide between CG (never been there), 50's (been there 3 times and it's my munchkins' number one fave), or Whispering Canyon (been there twice and we enjoyed both times). I'm also trying to decide on which park. I know they will all be cray cray on turkey day, but it will be our last of 9 days in the parks so we'll be there to  More...
- BagGal  235.7 #31 4:34AM
Crowd calendars actually show HS as busiest and EPCOT as least crowded, however, these are just estimates and are not always right ;)  If you are just going to people watch and not expect to ride many rides or see many shows do your favorite park the last day.  Sorry, I can't help with the dining, I've not eaten at any of them.  The one you ultimately make reservations for, might just be the one you can get, I'm imagining that those reservations fill up quickly! - DizneyGirl  716.6 #7 4:57AM
Thanks Diz!!  I thought about Epcot because there is more room to walk around!  I just thought it would be more popular than HS. That's great to know!!!!!  I agree about your dining advice!  I might not be able to be picky!  πŸ˜œ  Thank you for your help!!! - BagGal  235.7 #31 5:04AM
I'd check the crowd calendars maybe a month before going and see which one. I too, thought with more room at Epcot it might be a best choice for such a crowded time.  Also, be sure to get there first thing, I don't know that it happens over Thanksgiving really, but crowd levels are reached around Christmas for sure and they don't let people into the parks at that point. - DizneyGirl  716.6 #7 5:17AM
Okay, thanks!  The thought of it being so crowded that they don't let people in scares me!  Haha!  πŸ˜³ - BagGal  235.7 #31 6:00AM
Hey BG! One year we did EPCOT on Thanksgiving. I believe it was the same year we met up. It wasn't  bad at all. We ate at Rose and Crown. They offered a special menu for Thanksgiving along with there regular menu. I noticed when I was making reservations a lot of places offered that.  Good luck with your decision.  - disneycm  629.2 #9 5:22AM
Ahh, I loved that we got to meet up!  Thank you for your help!!  That's so good to hear!  I looked at Rose and Crown for Thanksgiving. We've never been there and the turkey menu looked good. Did you have lunch or dinner there?  Did you catch Illuminations?  The more I think about it, maybe Epcot would be best. When it's crowded, you don't have to wait in lines to explore the countries!  :) - BagGal  235.7 #31 5:57AM
We did lunch there.  Then we did a lot of shopping around EPCOT. πŸ˜³πŸ˜‰ - disneycm  629.2 #9 8:15AM

AWWWWWW YEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!  We stayed at WL in Oct for our anniversary a couple of nights, but near the lobby not in a Villa.  LOVED the ferry to MK, I think that was my fav part of the whole experience, just feeling so close to MK and the neighboring resorts (which we visit as much as the parks these days, lol!) - mrsincredible  982.9 #4 2:45PM

Hi guys! We have always stayed at either POR or POFQ. We're looking to try somewhere new next time, but there are 5 of us. I'm interested in 2 connecting rooms at Pop or a family suite at Art of Animation. Any thoughts? We've never set foot in either, but I've heard great things about both! Thanks y'all!
We love the family suits a AOA. It's a great resort. - 5disneylovers  966.6 #5 5:29AM
Which one did you stay in? My girls want to try the Nemo ones. Were you far from the bus stop? Is the bus stop for AoA far at the parks? I heard that Pop had the last bus stop in the parks. I can't carry my tired munchkin that far! 😜 - BagGal  235.7 #31 5:54AM
Have not stayed at AkA, but the theming and decor is very good, slightly more impressive than Pop's (adults will appreciate Pop's nostalgia, kids will like AoA's movie themes) since it's newer. Both bus stops will be far away, since they're values. Exact spot varies by park, but I think AoA is closer (though the difference is probably negligible). Pop rooms are nice, but small. I would imagine a suite at AkA is ultimately cheaper but I don't know for sure. - C-Ticket  39.7 #110 10:39AM
Thanks for your help! I never paid attention to where the bus stops are in the parks until someone else mentioned having to walk to the very last one for Pop. That would be a long walk after closing MK. I really do want to stay somewhere new though. Thanks again!! - BagGal  235.7 #31 12:34PM
I love pops! The kids enjoy it also. We travel with 8 and book two rooms connecting. What's nice about this is you have 4 actual beds and two bathrooms. There is room to go between each other and you also have two small fridges. Now there is no microwave or coffee pot but we do very little eating at the hotel, only breakfast. The food court can be crazy at times but no big deal for me. Only had issue with buses once or twice. AOA is a great resort also. Never stayed but visited. Their food court is nice, pools are awesome. Their suits are more than two rooms in cost. Happy planning - mmddgp  582.9 #10 11:35AM
Thanks Gayle!! Yes, it's less to stay in 2 rooms at Pop than in a suite at AoA. We never eat in our room, so we wouldn't miss the microwave, but we would miss the coffee pot on the mornings I'm dragging the hubs out of bed. ;) What do you think of the busses to and from? I like the idea of only one bus stop, but is it far from the rooms? Do you request a close room? Do you always get the connecting rooms? I know they can't guarantee them. Thanks for your help with all my questions!! :) - BagGal  235.7 #31 12:31PM
I have always got my request for connecting rooms and once it twice I paid for preferred rooms which was really nice. We were close enough to the food court to go and get coffee in the morning and bing to the room and close enough to the big pool. It cost about 12.00 per room per night extra. So worth it and when you came home at night it was not far to your room from the bus stop. The buses to and from we're not bad at all, but we are not really early risers so I think we miss the rush of people trying to get to the parks at opening. We don't always request a close room because the kids like being further away and having the smaller pools all to them selves. - mmddgp  582.9 #10 3:35PM
Thanks for your help!! I appreciate it!! - BagGal  235.7 #31 4:22PM

We have stayed at the little mermaid and finding Nemo. Nemo and cars are close to every thing - 5disneylovers  966.6 #5 5:04PM
Oh good! My girls want to stay in Nemo, but Cars looks so cool too! They'd actually love the Little Mermaid rooms, but we can't afford two of those rooms. 😜 - BagGal  235.7 #31 5:16PM
LM is a long walk to the main area and big pool unfortunately. I mean I guess it isn't as long as the 90's bundling is to Pop's food court but it's still long after you've been hoofin it all day and your dogs are barking! - mrsincredible  982.9 #4 6:26PM
Yep. I'm trying to avoid those longs walks. Gotta keep the hubby as happy as possible. That means shorter walks, shorter waits, lots of good food. :) - BagGal  235.7 #31 7:47PM

DL peeps... Which would be a better time to take my munchkins to DL for the first time? Late June or Thanksgiving week? Thanks so much!
Yep, I agree with Thanksgiving! Both times will be busy, but the cooler weather tends to make the crowds more bearable for me. Plus, the Christmas season is soooo fun! Carsland and Buena Vista Street at night are beautiful! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  576.7 #319 8:09PM
Both of those could be a bit busy but I think I would probably pick Thanksgiving week. Actually the week after Thanksgiving is usually great if you can swing it. Also, the parks will be decorated for the holidays which is always a plus for me! - MicheyMouse  343.1 #633 11:04AM
Thanks for your input!! We have to go when the girls are out of school so I know both will be busy. Do you think Thabksgiving week is busier? I love the idea of the decorations! Small World is even decorated for the holidays, right? - BagGal  235.7 #31 11:08AM
I went one time during thanksgiving, and it was super busy. Like she said above, either will be super busy. - islandgirl58  309.9 #22 11:11AM
Sigh. Why can't I win the lottery and have the park all to myself? πŸ˜‰ Myself and all of you guys! That would be awesome! Hmmm... Crazy busy in the heat or crazy busy with Christmas decorations... - BagGal  235.7 #31 11:14AM
Yup the holiday theme rides should already be up by then. - islandgirl58  309.9 #22 11:14AM
Thanksgiving day will be extra busy. - islandgirl58  309.9 #22 11:15AM
I don't know BG, I think I might rather pick crazy busy with holiday decor if it were me!!  :) - mrsincredible  982.9 #4 11:16AM
That's the way I'm leaning! 😍 I said we'd need the whole week though because the girls want to do touristy LA stuff too. I didn't think he'd want to miss Thanksgiving with his family, but he said he'd rather go then. Sometimes he's a mystery. 😜 - BagGal  235.7 #31 11:32AM
Haha he sounds like mine!! I'm all trying to be frugal and not make many dining reservations for our anniversary trip, and when he found out we weren't eating at very many places, he's like "where's all the food!?" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Of course I ran with it at that point!! πŸ‘ - mrsincredible  982.9 #4 2:31PM

Late June is Hot and crowded. Next year is the 60th anniversary celebration at Disneyland. So decorations should be amazing. The daylight is longer. November is cooler but may rain. Christmas overlay is nice like WDW. I'm not sure if there are still grad nights late June but they fill the parks too. If you take a mid day break for the heat and go early when the parks open then not too bad - E-Ticket  1320.6 #110 12:47PM

Hi guys!! This morning I mentioned to my husband that I'd like to our girls to DL for the first time. He smiled and said that I could submit a proposal but he wasn't making any promises. (Stinker.) Where are some good places to stay that are within walking distance of the parks? Thank you!!!
I would do the proposal in triplicate in case he loses the original. Good idea to have it notarized also. πŸ˜„ - jacdanfan  8428.1 #5 7:01AM
Hahahahahaha!! I love the way you think!! - BagGal  235.7 #31 7:19AM

Howard Johnson. They give MW discounts and it's walking distance to the parks (basically across the street). I have stayed there and like it. They have a pirate themed pool playground for kids too - missmimi90  1783.1 #78 4:40PM
Awesome!! Thanks for the info!! - BagGal  235.7 #31 5:05PM
Thank you!! I didn't know about the MW discounts. Awesome!! - BagGal  235.7 #31 7:35AM
Yes just call for in house reservations, mention MW and I believer the discount is 15%. However if you have the opportunity to stay on property at one of DL three hotels, do it. I'm giving you close options with decent rates and applies discounts - missmimi90  1783.1 #78 10:33AM
You guys will love it there! The Disneyland Hotel is my favorite and well worth the money, especially since DL is a shorter trip. There are many good hotels close by too, many that offer a shuttle. We have always enjoyed Embassy Suites (shuttle or car, not walking distance), you get a full breakfast and all rooms are a suite where there is a bedroom and a living room for a little extra space. Good luck with the proposal :) - Andrea84  689.0 #8 10:56AM
Haha! Thank you!! Thanks for the info too! - BagGal  235.7 #31 2:09PM
Most, if not all Good Neighbor hotels give an early morning entry, too. - PixieDust76  93.4 #70 11:31AM
