My favorite time was when my husband,son , son in law and daughter got picked for the pre show. They did an awesome job and were hilarious. When we were ther in march they didn't have the actors in the pre show😟 my favorite part is seeing Walts plane and the faces and actions of the unsuspecting guests. How did you like it ? - mmddgp

Like everyone else, I'd recommend Garden Grill, Teppan Edo, Coral Reef, or Biergarten. My girls have loved all of them! They also loved Restaurant Marrakesh at Epcot. The belly dancer was so sweet and fun. She pulled them up to dance with her a few times while we were there for dinner. They loved it. The food was great too! I was nervous it would be too unusual for my little eaters, but it was delicious. We all loved it.
You could try garden grill if your looking for another character meal. It's on my list to try but other mw'ers have and gave it a great review.😃 - Schramke

We ate at garden grill the last time we were there and loved it. The characters really take their time with you and the restaurant rotates slowly through the land ride. We did Biergarten before. The atmosphere is really fun and kid friendly, but the food is only "ok." Coral Reef had the best food. Nice restaurant with neat aquariums. Kids liked the aquariums but list interest after a while. Def keep trying garden grill. I think it's the best fit for what you're looking for. - Disneyaddict

You'll get mixed reviews on this topic, lol! I like it, but I don't do it every trip. I will likely do the Plus in June so I don't have to worry about keeping up with my camera AND my 2yo. I want to get a lot of pics of us as a group (also a pretty large group of 8). It's expensive, and sometimes the photos don't always turn out, but I have been very lucky. Most all of my PP pics in the past were keepers! 😊 - mrsincredible

We just do the photo pass. It is free and every opportunity we get we also ask if they would take one with our camera or phone also. They are more than happy to. When we get home we pull up what they have and make a decision at that time. Some times we buy and sometimes we don't but atleast we have them on photo pass and a camera just in case - mmddgp

We love POR! We love the grounds, love the activities, love the food court. The only drawback is that it's HUGE, so you have to do a lot of walking from one place to another. Buses come quickly, but if your room isn't near one of the stops, it's kind of a pain. I'd pay the extra to stay in a preferred room which would be closer to the bus and food. I hope you enjoy it. We've stayed there twice and enjoyed it both times!
I'm not a fan of POR... I'm a POFQ fan! Contrary to what everyone said, I find POR loud, loud, loud! Anytime POFQ shared a bus with POR the guests were so loud! I never had that problem with POFQ. I've the same experience in the POR food court, loud! The bus service is much better at POFQ too. On shared buses they are always the first stop. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad

I've stayed at both sides and llke them both. They are both peaceful and pretty. The FQ side is smaller and easier to walk to everything, but the Riverside has a nice bar/lounge area and table seating restaurant. - ally

Thanks for the imput everyone! I think it's a good choice for us, we have a rental car so bus stops aren't an issue, even if we end up taking the bus, were already doing so much walking around the parks I'm sure the extra 20 mins a day won't matter! One of my friends ran in the marathon today. Thank God she is okay. She said she is safe in her hotel room, but they have been on lockdown for a while. Prayers for all in Boston.
I live 8 miles away from Boston and saw the bomb detonations on live tv. It was just awful. The blood, loss of limbs and life....just terrifying. I'm still shaken. As of this post the death toll is only 3 but that's 3 too many. One of the dead was an 8 year old. Over 130 injured. I have runners in my family and family & friends who work not too far from the finish line. Thankfully everybody is accounted for and well. My heart goes out to all the families of the dead & injured and the runners from all over the world who just came to run. This will change every marathon, not just in Boston but nation wide, for a long time to come. - Tinkerbell1265

FYI it can get cold in dec so bring something warm just in case. Make reservations as soon as you can (180 days) the places I love are: Epcot Le ceilier but I don't think they are doing the dinning plan anymore, teppan in Japan, coral reel is pretty. HS we love prime time, sci fi. AK we don't have any real favorites. Mk Chrystal palace is a yummy buffet and be our guest is becoming a big hit. You can read all menus before making any reservations as well. :) - disneyworldsbiggestfan

Here are my contributions. MAgic Kingdom: Cinderella Royal Table for experience and to see the interior of the castle (2credits for Dining Plan). Animal Kingdom: TUSKER HOUSE (character dining and buffet!). YAK and Yeti is awesome as well! DHS: 50s Prime Time (the dessert is my fave and the ambiance), hollywood and highland for the buffet and fantasmic package. EPCOT (this is a great ine because you can try all the nations food). I love Akershus because of their "Taste of Norway" appetizer buffet (smoked fish and cheese and salad! And the character exp). Teppan Edo is fun! Restaurant Marrakesh for the interior and belly dancing. try All restaurants AT EPCOT! (These are my suggestions based from my last visit...) - otilegna
