Im disappointed that we aren't going to disney this year. The eldest (his senior year) has chosen universal (for diagon alley) instead of disney. We will, however, be able to attend MNSSHP. At least I get one day in the magic kingdom.
2012 sww. Happy forth, y'all.
Mrs I, thanks so much for the postcard!!
Also, check out what I scored for $40..
Not disney related: I could really use some pixie dust. My 2 teenagers witnessed a shooting outside their school today. My 16 year old is sick to his stomach and keeps crying. The 17 year old refuses to talk. At all. From what the 16 year old says they saw some gruesome things at close range. I plan to call our physician in the am and take them to see her ASAP..but in the mean time please keep us in your prayers.
Mmddgp, thanks for sharing your vacation with us. I've enjoyed seeing your photos. Sorry I haven't replied to many.. Today I buried my grandfather (I was raised by my grandparents), so it's been a long week for me.
I'm trying to decide between bog for dinner and garden grill (another night) OR bog for lunch and le cellier for dinner. What do y'all suggest? My kids are teenagers with hefty appetites.
I can make adr's Tuesday. What do y'all think of these: breakfast at crystal palace, lunches at: Biergarten, bog, and house of blues gospel brunch, and dinners at: liberty tree tavern, cape may cafe clam bake, garden grill (or chefs de France... We are undecided), akershus, and ohana.
We don't have park hoppers and are spending only 1 day at ak, 2 at the other 3 parks. We will hit a park on our day out but will decide which one during our vacation so can't make plans for that day.
September question: I saw a calendar on a travel agent's site for this years operating hours. All 4 parks close by 9 every night except Friday and Saturday (and only MK stays open late) and the only night there are evening EMH is Monday at both MK and HS. Sunday MK closes at 7 pm. These aren't usual times are they? I was really disappointed when I saw this calendar.
We have decided to change our reservations. We will be staying 8 nights instead of 6. I'm still worried about taking the kids out of school BUT this is the last vacation my 17 year old will take with us since he is joining the military upon graduation.
Anyone that has taken kids out of school for vacation I new advice. We plan to go in September because that's the best time for us to get off work. Our kids will be in 6th, 10th, and 12th grade (the oldest wanted disney for his last family vacation before joining the marines). They will be pulled out Of school for 8 days. What did y'all do about make up work? Did the school let them make up everything? Did your kids struggle?
Tracsant, thanks so much!!
Mrs I, thank you so much for the postcard! I haven't seen it because I work out if town but my kids left me a voice mail that I got a "really cool picture in the mail. Who is mrs I?"
I'm off tonight so this is my entertainment after I sent my boys to bed. (All 4 boys hate this movie..apparently it's too girly or them.)
Are the preferred rooms at POR worth the extra cost? We won't be in the room much, but my kids do like to snack. And they like to swim and I think they will prefer ole man island because of the slide? I've read that it can be a 15-20 minute walk from some of the rooms to the food court π¦
For those of you who have been offered magicbands: how far in advance did disney contact you? I'm very very far away (a year and 10 days) which is WAY too early I'm sure. Just curious.
I received a package from my secret mw'er today. I've never stayed on property so I'm really excited about the shampoo and soap! Thank you so much!
The first number FINALLY changed!!
