Hey family! Sorry I have been MIA lately! Been SO busy with the kids school, work, and life in general! I had to start getting up at 4:30 am in order to get ready, and bring my son to his bus stop at 5:40 am! CRAZY I know! So now, I have been going to bed earlier, and obviously, having to miss out on things like MW, and other things! I am slowly trying to catch up with everything! I hope you are a  More...
Good morning Nicole! I hope you were able to sleep in. My middle schooler has to get up early this year, kinda stinks! That is just too early for me! You need to just pencil in a date for next year and see if you can make it happen!! - DizneyGirl  595.0 #8 5:19AM
Thanks Melissa! Funny, sleeping in has changed for me now. I was up at 6:30 this morning, but I felt like I was rested enough. Yes...definitely need to pencil in a date! - ncjal  207.9 #34 5:38AM

NDR, but yesterday we took a day trip to Carowinds Amusement Park. Had a much needed GREAT day! Sad thing is, Disney has us so spoiled, that a trip to any other amusement park is a bit of a disappointment! Totally missing the Disney magic and special touches!!
It looka fun though... BUT THOSE LOOPS ARE SOOOOOOOOO BIG! - otilegna  1779.2 #69 11:16AM
I know! My kids did them all! One was a standing coaster, one was a lie-down coaster, and one went 80mph and was 232 feet tall! My kids are crazy!! (But in a good way) - ncjal  207.9 #34 12:02PM

Christmas week (like the week of Dec 20-27) at Disney....opinions...pros, cons....be HONEST...we are SERIOUSLY considering it!!
If you have other options, I would avoid it. 20-23 will be manageable, 24th till after the new year is crazy. We did the 23-30th one year and never again, it was crowded and people were extra rude, and it's one of the most expensive times. - Andrea84  633.0 #7 5:04PM
we did Spring Break a couple years ago....and that was CRAZY! Is it similar to that kind of crowd? - ncjal  207.9 #34 5:29PM
More crowded than that, MK can reach capacity on Christmas day. - Andrea84  633.0 #7 6:47PM
If your going to make the trip out for Christmas week at least stay for NYE, it is very crowded but the NYE celebration is worth it in my opinion even though most days of that week will reach capacity - nodell111  166.4 #46 7:13PM
Thanks for the suggestion - ncjal  207.9 #34 1:48PM
We have done Thanksgiving the last 3 years and it's crowded. We were able to do almost everything we wanted. My son was in high school and we didn't want him to miss school. All the Christmas decor was up and it's beautiful. - disneycm  554.6 #10 3:32PM
that is what we are thinking too. We don't want the kids to miss too much school. (they will be in 7th, and 11th grades) - ncjal  207.9 #34 4:05PM

Seriously, we've been over spring break, never again and thanksgiving, never again. And although we've not been at Christmas, I've read it's much worse at Christmas time. next question....is it worth paying the extra for a moderate just to get the free Deluxe Dining or just stick with a Value and get the free Quick Service Dining? Side note...We have never done a sit down character meal yet.
I'm not sure how it is now, but when we went in 2011 & 2012 and had free dining it was only like $20 or $40 more to do the moderate. Something ridiculously low anyway. I vote for moderate!! You need to do a character meal or two, don't do too many, they are time consuming and take away from time in the park. I like 1900 Park Fair, food isn't great, but the characters are great! - DizneyGirl  595.0 #8 11:17AM
Yes!! When we went in early Dec 2012, we got the free dining, and upgraded from a value to POR (Royal room) for like $30 bucks. We always like to start our day with a character meal or other TS (Boma, Kona, etc.) But we are early birds, 7:30 ressies typically, so we can be in the park when they open at 9:00. When we do morning EMH, we will just eat in the parks or at the resort. - mrsincredible  806.1 #5 12:01PM
If it it the 4 of you defiantly stay at moderate for free dinning. It is a much better discount. Your room discount will only Be about 15-20% - mmddgp  411.0 #17 12:05PM
Do a character Dining!!! It is fun!!! Tusker House and Akershus are my favorite. cinderella royal table is fun as well, but i really go there for the interior shot!!!! - otilegna  1779.2 #69 9:36PM
And i dont know about free dining offer as i never experienced it... But if the upgrade is just like LOW price, go for the upgrade! (Just keep in mind, if ur doing the DELUXE DINING PLAN, it is a lot of food!!! Stick with the Dining Plan, the Basic one with 1 TS and 1 QS!) - otilegna  1779.2 #69 9:38PM

Favorite moderate resort, and why? Toying with the idea of a Christmas trip....
The only moderate we stayed was Coronado Springs, it was nice , very big and depending where your rm is can take a while to get to the main building and the pool area , Christmas time is a perfect time to go :) - tracsant  948.1 #2 7:59PM
I have stayed at POFQ several times and I love it. It is smaller than the other mods. It is pretty at Christmas but I really don't care for the clown decor they have all year. I haven't stayed at POR in 20 yrs but I have friends who love it and always stay there. I don't think I would like Caribbean Beach. Too spread out and a bunch of Bus stops. I like Pop just as well as POFQ for the money. - lghr  37.8 #107 8:20PM

I have a question about the Alex and Ani bracelets. Do you get a new bracelet for each charm, or do you add all the charms onto one bracelet? Also, are they heavy? I was thinking of getting one for each park, but don't know how comfortable wearing 4 bracelets would be?
When I was at Magic Kingdom I asked if you could buy just charms to put on them and she acted like I was asking her to share her Dole Whip . . . LOL! Then she said "not that i know of". But I swear I read online you could buy charms for them. Helpful, I know :) - DizneyGirl  595.0 #8 1:20PM
LOL...too funny! I guess it is not a common question....but i don't think I would like wearing 4-5 bracelets, know what I mean? - ncjal  207.9 #34 1:49PM
I know what you mean. I'd rather have one bracelet with many charms. - DizneyGirl  595.0 #8 3:15PM
I don't think you can add them. But me as a jewelry make I just might add to mine depending on the charms...but I also need get the bracelet from my bead store and make one too that's not Disney. The one Disney one I do have is light weight. I love it - TinkTinkTink  191.6 #38 5:10PM
The charms just come on their own bracelets. I don't think they are heavy, my co-worker has a bunch of them that she wears at once. They do look nice. - kayxobelle  198.9 #36 7:23PM
