Lobster eggs bennidict with an Asparagus hash from The Grand Floridan Cafe
LBChicas post reminded me to let you guys know that I will be posting a ton of live photos and food reviews from the Food and Wine Festival the weekend of the 27th. I also will be attending the party for the senses event the night of the 27th at Epcot which will be around 30 dining stations featuring a slew of big name chefs including Robert Irvine..There will also be an ongoing performance of Cirque de Soli....cant wait for it and looking forward to sharing all the pics from the event!!!
Dinner at Citricos at The Grand Floridian at WDW…Top Sushi dish was a chefs sample of the Grouper ..Appetizer of; Arancini Crispy Risotto with Cremini Mushrooms, Asiago, and Charred Tomato Coulis…For the Entrée had a Madeira-braised Short Ribs Trofie Pasta, Wild Mushroom Ragoût, and Truffle Crème Fraîche…All were very very good and was a lot of food in a Restaurant which is similar in style to Napa Rose…They had quite an elaborate wine list and a machine that I had never seen before that allows an electronic measured pour of some of the finest wines that you could sample by the ounce and by the glass. So instead of paying 50 dollars for a full glass you could just do a sample of a one ounce glass for about 20 and this type of machine allowed the restaurant to do this and keep the wine good for up to a month without going bad
Interesting news for the future for park goers...according to WDW Magic Disney's NextGen RFID FASTPASS bracelet has been listed on the government FCC website today, including an image of what it looks like (see image below). The bracelet, called "Magic Band' is battery powered, is designed to be disposable, and includes the now familiar NextGen Mickey logo and what appears to be the wearers name for easy ID in groups. The RFID bracelet will be the driving force behind much of Disney's NextGen initiative, which includes ticketless park entry, ticketless FASTPASS, attraction personalization, touch-to-pay purchasing and more. A brief desciption of the device from the filing "The radio of the device, Model MB-R1G1, is a wrist worn arm band that transmits a 2.4 GHz signal to an indoor wireless infrastructure. The PCB assembly is potted in plastic and completely overmolded with thermal plastic polyurethane. The band has no on off switch and is powered with a non-replaceable coin cell. The PCB assembly also includes a passive UHF RFID tag radio and a passive HF RFID tag radio."
It was pouring so hard at AK that I thought it would be funny to put my banana costume on and dance in the rain...the Disney photographers took this pic 😂....this was a few weeks ago just forgot to post it
Dinner at Jiko Place at the Animal Kingdom lodge from my last trip….Head Chef at Napa Rose, Andrew Sutton had suggested that I try this place out as he really enjoyed the different flavors and unique menu items and he was right…Appetizer was a Grilled Wild Boar Tenderloin Mealie Pap, Chakalaka, White Truffle Oil, and Micro Cilantro, it was kind of like a ragout with a cheese which was really good and tender. Not gamey at all, very good and tons of flavor….Seared Barbarie Duck Breast Potato and Spinach Masala, Royal Trumpet Mushrooms, and Port Emuls ion. I really liked this dish as it had a ton of different flavors that were very new to my pallet and every bite was an experience on its own. I don’t usually take pictures of butter but this butter which looks like ice cream was amazing and was accompanied by fresh Nan bread…The butter was a tandoori butter with all sorts of flavors..The wine list at jiko was something else..They have the largest wine selection of wines from South African anywhere in the United States….not knowing my South African wines, I let them decide and they gave me a bottle of Chakalaka 2009 which was a mildly spiced red wine which was good but id probably not get it again….So if any of you are visiting WDW and like an adventurous 5 star dinner with some very unique menu items and flavors, I higly recommend checking out Jiko
