Cannot wait to see this ride!!! Hope the wait is not that long!
I'm mesmerized! Cannot wait to see it opening day. People are complaining that the ride seems boring but I love slow scenic rides with detail! - ariel116  131.2 #65 5:55PM
I think it's one of those rides that you need to actually be on to appreciate. Watching a video of it only gives you a slight idea. It kind of reminds me of the Harry Potter rides at Universal. A YouTube video of it just doesn't capture the awesomeness of the ride when you are on it. - missmimi90  2081.6 #95 6:10PM
Agreed!! I loved that ride. Not the motion sickness I felt though haha. The avatar in the tank looks amazing too! - ariel116  131.2 #65 6:25PM
We will be there opening night but have fp+ for later in the week. Waiting to see what the other ride is like to see if hubby can even ride it. If it's like soaring we should be good, but anything like Harry Potter it's a no go.  - TinkTinkTink  305.9 #32 4:15AM
He can do soaring but not Harry Potter? That's interesting! I am too weak to do either! haha tried HP-never again, never tried Soarin or Star Tours or anything of the like - ariel116  131.2 #65 7:34AM
I can do soaring no problem but HP ( old ride) I can't at all.  - mmddgp  1961.1 #3 10:15AM
I wouldn't dare him him on anything at Harry Potter except the train. Star tours is a little much for him. But soaring no problem - TinkTinkTink  305.9 #32 12:23PM
I can't waitTo see it. I have been passing up the videos so that I am surprised.  - mmddgp  1961.1 #3 7:33PM
You're good!! I've been watching them like crazy!!! I'm excited to experience it! - brittandkell  557.7 #428 7:42PM
I'm really tempted  - mmddgp  1961.1 #3 8:01PM
My thought is that experiencing in person will never be the same as in a video so I'm not losing much of the awe. - missmimi90  2081.6 #95 9:33PM
I try not to watch anything before I get to experience it. I've done my best to not watch videos or even look at pictures of rivers of light. - DizneyGirl  1564.5 #5 8:53AM

Yes for toy story mania (last week) and Matterhorn plus the new line for Matterhorn has made a huge mess of an already crowded walkway. We have more day trippers here so the whole planning everything out doesn't work well. They are telling us they're going to add maxpass which is a paid service on your phone. The  response has not been good, Disneyland resort is just a lot different than how big WDW is and most stay at WDW for at least a couple days. We'll see how it goes.  - secretagentangel  13911.5 #9 5:57PM
๐Ÿ˜ฎ I wonder why Disney LAND still uses paper Fast passes and not the Magic Bandsโ—๐Ÿ˜โฐ - Radio-Man  388.1 #25 9:13AM
Haha, there's a lot of debate out there about whether or not DL should have magic bands ๐Ÿ˜‚  It seems they're heading in that direction, though I think it's been challenging to implement a new system, as DL is quite different than WDW (plus people are pretty attached to the paper FP and the flexibility it offers).   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  713.8 #333 1:42PM

On-property hotel, i always stay with value because of the price. I will be only at that hotel to charge and sleep and shower!!! But then, if the price difference is small (like $20 bucks difference), i will go for a moderate resort.
No way around it, Disney is expensive. There are so many hotels nearby. That's how I save. I stayed at a Value resort once, but don't see the need to do it again. Yes, staying at the Grand Floridian would be amazing, but I would never pay those prices. You can always visit it for free. I pick my splurges for the trip and scrimp elsewhere. Since I have to fly, I always check on Orbitz about making it a "package". Sometimes the hotels are super cheap that way.  - JenGwen323  2291.6 #85 11:41PM
My husband just found a fantastic deal on Orbitz for a trip this July 4th holiday. Hotel at Hilton Bonnet Creek (six nights), flight with Virgin airlines (SFO to MCO), plus car rental (Nissan Altima size) four travelers for just over $3000. The flight alone through Virgin is usually more than that. - GoofyMom77  1162.9 #191 10:18AM
That's awesome. So orbits is good? Do they do disney hotels as well? - mmddgp  1961.1 #3 9:45AM
We stay off site every other year. If we did not we could not go every year. The years we stay on site we make sure we do the free dining and go during value season. This means pulling our kids out of school, but I've come to terms with that and I'm quite alright with it. Staying in a condo saves us thousands of dollars because we eat there, and it's probably 10% to 30% of a moderate or Deluxe resort. We also drive down and we live in the midwest so it's a 24-hour total drive (each way). It cost us about $950 to drive down and back, but flights would be around $4,000 during the times we want to go. We do buy groceries and eat in our condo with just one meal in the park per day. We also opted not to do the park hopper pass, we're not big fans, as we feel you lose time as you're transported from one park to another, and it can save you quite a bit as well. - DizneyGirl  1564.5 #5 4:09PM

We went back and forth on DVC for about 5 years. We pulled the trigger in 2015 and went for it. The only regret we have is that we didn't do it sooner. Dvc really does give you a lot more flexibility of where you are staying (9 resorts ) on property.  We also took advantage of the dvc discount on annual passes as well.   - skywalker  272.4 #36 7:46PM

Also buy a Disney Giftcard and use a payment card with a rewards on it. Like if the credit card has cashback/points for award money something like that. So it is like double-dipping... it might not be a big cashback but still a good start. Or you can apply for target card where you can get 5% off with disney gift card

If you are renting a car, stay OFF PROPERTY BUT make sure there is no extra charges (RESORT FEE and Parking) coz those factors adds up to the bill... date wise, if you are planning for more than a week stay at the parks, might as well buy the Annual pass because it has food and merchandise discounts... also, they offer rom discounts (if you prefer to stay with property).
