We usually finish driving down. Check in to pop grab somethin to eat take a short nap then head to the park that has EMH. Cant get her soon enough.
Our first day of our next trip will be spent in the car driving down. Once we finally arrive we will check in to Coronado springs, and then meet our family in the park for our second cousins first time to wdw (they are ages 3-6) and know we are Disney fans. We have dinner reservations set up through our the week and just usually plan day by day and can't wait!!! - TinkTinkTink

We are picking up the kids from school, we drive north to Orlando about 2&1/2 to 3 hrs. Checking in to SSR and we'll most likely eat dinner then take a bus to MK and enjoy some of our favorite rides, snap some pictures and catch the fireworks! We do the dining plan because my 12 year old son would cost us way more than we could afford.
It really depends on each family's needs. My suggestion is go to Allears.net and look at the pricing of food that you know your family will eat and do the math. For us we spend A LOT less not doing the dining plan. We have used it when it's free, but this fall we did the 30% off our resort room versus the free dining and faired better. - DizneyGirl

We were just there last week, coming from So Cal and a bit skeptical about the dining plan but went with it. We LOVED it! After asking for advice here, and from others we made dinner reservations for each night. Just stopped for QS lunch as we went. With dessert at every meal we actually didn't even use all our snacks! We always do the dining plan when we go to WDW. It's so easy- you can get whatever you want and never have to pull out a credit card or cash, just a room key. Wish the plan at DLR was the same. DLR 's isn't as good, IMHO . - Sandy
