Thank you ladies. May have to check into QS instead of dining plan. I am tring to avoid cooking. Been in Feb and Oct. And usually do the free dining.
If you go in sept oct you can get free dining. You need room at minimum. Since your spending most of your time out if the room you need the mos economical. I say pop century or one if the value resorts. The only thing you would pay for is hotel and park passes. Hope this help. Stay on property. - 5disneylovers  340.1 #11 5:47PM
If you are looking for a trip on the cheap, staying offsite with that many in your crew is significantly cheaper. If you want to stay onsite, then you can do Art of Animation suites, but they are more than the moderate resorts. There's also the cabins that would work for you. The dining plan can save if you are big eaters . . . for us, we don't eat dessert at all our meals at home, and we prefer water so paying for those is more and we wind up saving by not doing the dining plan. If you go in September there is free dining, which we almost always do :), last year I missed the deadline. There are no crowds in September, but this year from what I heard October was busier than normal. Not been in Jan or Feb. Planning is so much fun, ENJOY!! - DizneyGirl  353.5 #9 5:45PM

We travel with 8, I get two rooms at pop century and I get them connected we open the doors between us and it works out great. We go during valu season which can save you money and we also have annual passes which saves money also if you are not doing a dinning plan. If you ate going to go the route of qs and not do an sit downs you pretty much break even or sometimes even a little less. It's just conveint to have it all paid and in the card. Our first trip was in 2009. Drove 8 hrs one afternoon then finished another 8 hrs the following day. When we arrived at movies we checked in found the room Hubby and I argued for about 10 mins. Told him I was walkin back to Indiana. We cooled off by exploring movies. Took a little nap then headed to Mk for wishes. Cried while watching wishes my daughter then cried when we rode prince charmings carosel. We stayed 6 nights on the 6 night after epcot she looked at me crying saying I want to go home to my doggie please mom. Now she begs to go to WDW. Thanks for everyone for sharing thier stories and memories.
My first visit was in 1983.  My parents took us, there was only MK and EPCOT.  We did a one day ticket to MK and had breakfast with the characters.  I'm not sure where the breakfast was, but it had Alice, Tweedledum and Goofy.  I remember thinking our waiter was dreamy! - DizneyGirl  353.5 #9 2:16PM
My first trip to WdW was November 2011. It is my personal gift for my 25th Birthday. Not planning to go but i did it (i started planning one month before. Filed my leave at work, upgraded my disneyland pass to Premier Pass, booked a hotel resort (Pop Century), and a flight). It was a short visit for me. 6days of fun at WDW! I AM HAPPY THAT THE CHRISTMAS decor is there! i saw MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE, Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights and other attractions/destinations not available at Disneyland - otilegna  862.0 #106 4:15PM
07/2007. Best memory, walking onto our balcony and seeing zebra and a giraffe. It's the only time I have stayed at a deluxe resort and it was amazing. Since then I tend to focus more on the parks than the resorts. - Shunasee  180.2 #1857 3:04PM

I have so many hard to chose just one. I would say our very 1st trip was magical by just being there.

Many many! My favorite was about 3 years ago. We were waiting for pooh and tigger at mk. We were next in line and a family with 2 adult disabled children came up the handicap ramp and the cm asked if we minded if they took them next? I said absoulutly not! Well the interaction between the characters and the children was amazing!! My grandkids even commented on how happy everyone was.
