Hey everyone! I know it's been a while since I've been around - I didn't know my freshman year of college would be... Quite like this! I just have a few random questions. I'm really trying to save up to go to Disney with a friend of mine in the near future. As far as timing do any of you know when the best time for a college student to travel to Disney is best keeping in mind crowds and heat? We'r  More...
I went in May for my HS and college graduations. A little warm but crowds were low and flower/garden festival was great. All stars are always good for the budget - timonT  250.8 #26 2:23AM
Thanks that's awesome news! I'll definitely look into that! - ChandlerDisney  3.5 #751 1:11PM
I believe that the 2nd week in December is pretty low crowds. I know it's not a favorite thing, but staying offsite makes the trip extremely affordable, in fact you could stay 3 to 4 times as long for the same $$. If you'd prefer on site, stay at Pop OR if you are adventurous, stay at the campground! - DizneyGirl  546.5 #9 4:34AM
Do you know anything about the merge into the second and third week? I'm assuming the crowds are crazy because of the Christmas rush. - ChandlerDisney  3.5 #751 1:11PM
Crowds are predicted (based on past years) to be low thru the 16th. - DizneyGirl  546.5 #9 1:34PM
Second week of December is great for crowd! And if you time it right you may get free dining. - poohbr1205  20.9 #147 6:14AM

Hey MW! Been a while, I have a question! I plan on visiting in January. I can't decide if its better to rent a car or use the free bus system. If I have morning reservations early will the buses be running? Also, what are some good rental services that offer good deals/prices! Thanks & have a good day!
It's really personal preference. Most people love using the bus system and not messing with the car rentals. We drive and I love having a car everywhere we go. Buses do run early enough to get you to breakfast reservations. Ask for more info at your resort when you check in. - DizneyGirl  546.5 #9 9:08AM
Bus. If they aren't running for some reason talk to the resort and they may be able to help from what I hear :) saves you money. - cooldisgrl_CM  142.6 #2652 9:07AM
I've done both. If you plan to stay on the disney property most of the time and only go off site for a day or two then the busses are best. There is also a bus that goes to universal, sea world as well as downtown Orlando or beach. If you plan to drive all over to many different places then a car is more flexible however it will cost you more with rental fees, insurance, and gas. Plus the annoyance of disney park traffic and traffic in general. Of the two. I prefer the bus. - athica  12.9 #197 5:21PM
I agree and parking price just went up! - ariel116  98.3 #62 5:37PM
Thanks guys! I think we're going to go with the bus system! It's only 2 of us and the cost of insurance, tax, and fuel just adds up, I'd rather use that money on candy and dole whips! :) - ChandlerDisney  3.5 #751 5:59PM
That's the way to go right there ... Dole whips all day everyday ha ha - 5disneylovers  774.7 #5 6:30PM
Awesome idea! - ariel116  98.3 #62 6:30PM

Going to Disney at the end of January anyone know the temperature and what the crowds are like?
I always go the end of Jan and we found during the day in the 70's and night in the 50's. Plus no crowds! We always walk on everything except a few that we fp. Soarin, toy story, Peter pan. Hope this helps - Schramke  411.0 #15 11:12PM
Thanks for the insight! I'm going the end of January, too, and was wondering about the weather. =) - eeyorefan107l  280.2 #22 2:54AM
January is tricky in Florida. It can drop into the 30's on rare occasions or stay around 50's for a low. Best thing is check the forecast and prepare for cool weather. It's a great time of year to visit WDW! - JetsamsTwin  379.9 #17 9:00AM
Thanks everyone! - ChandlerDisney  3.5 #751 7:40PM
