Hello!! 4 days away from my Disney world trip and I have a question. I'm staying at the wilderness lodge and I just want to know around how long it takes to get to the parks besides magic kingdom from the resort. I want to be able to plan accordingly for my trip that I am fine tuning right now :) thank you!!!
You may already know this, but it's a relaxing boat ride from WL to Magic Kingdom. The length of time it takes depends, will you have a car to drive or are you relying on the buses.  We just stayed at WL Campground in September, and getting everywhere was VERY easy with our van. As far as buses go, you are at their mercy. If it's crowded, it takes longer, obviously ;)  I'd say allow at least a half hour to get to the park and that's if it's not too terribly busy, if it's busy, maybe 45 minutes.  Especially if you have dining reservations, because you don't want to be late for those! - DizneyGirl  966.7 #8 2:01PM
We are going to rely on the Disney busses and hope that we can make it to the parks before opening!! I'm not too worried about magic kingdom but the other parks that are farther are the ones I'm hoping don't take too long. Thank you!! - disneywasted  8.5 #12667 2:36PM
I'd say allow a 1/2 hour to get there, unless it's for dining, then I'd say head out an hour before, as there's always something to do at the parks should you get there faster than planned.  If you want to get to rope drop I'd leave an hour before because people say to shop up 20 to 30 minutes before rope drop, although I've never made it that early (my family is full of late sleepers). - DizneyGirl  966.7 #8 2:45PM
Yep Diz is right. And we are the same way, late sleepers! At my age I'm ok with it and we have less crankiness - mmddgp  1062.7 #7 7:39PM
On rope drop days, we try to be at the bus stop an hour before just in case. The buses can take a while sometimes plus you never know how long the bag check line will be. Good luck!  May you have short lines and a great trip! - BagGal  345.2 #25 2:53PM
Thank you so much!!  - disneywasted  8.5 #12667 7:06PM
We only take the busses and we are at the extreme other end( valu resorts) 4 days! How exciting! You will have an amazing time! Do you have anything special planned like dining or mvmcp? - mmddgp  1062.7 #7 7:45PM
When we stayed at WL I was a little bit disappointed in the bus service...I feel like pop century has better bus service.  It was my ONLY negative! I would use the boat as much as possible :). Maybe it's gotten better or maybe we just hit at an off time...you will love wilderness lodge! It is beautiful and relaxing! - brittandkell  519.6 #422 7:45PM

Good morning! Haven't posted here in a long time but I am planning a trip to WDW December 4-10 and have a question. I have made a reservation for the Osbourne light dessert party and I was just wondering if it's worth it to have the viewing area or if the lights are something you can see without it. I know it's the last year so I want to make sure I see them in all their glory but I also don't wan  More...
I was there last night and could see all of it. It was crowded, which the dessert area wasn't, but you could easily walk around to see it from different vantage points.  - JenGwen323  2041.4 #82 11:16AM

Hello and welcome back. I thought the same thing but I did it. I have never seen it and I'm sure since it is the last time here it is going to be crazy busy!!!! I'mSure you don't need a viewing area as the lights are all around you but it will be nice knowing I have an area where hopefully it won't be shoulder to shoulder. The other plus is we get a keep sake. We can also come and go so it will be nice just to have a spot to tuck into.  - mmddgp  1062.7 #7 10:15AM
Thank you!! I think I will keep my reservations so I can enjoy it without having the hassle of too many people lol  - disneywasted  8.5 #12667 11:22AM
I would keep it. At first I wasn't planning on doing this dessert party, but its the final Osborne lights show...so my hubby we should. - islandgirl58  462.0 #19 12:11PM

I think it's a great way to share the Halloween magic and add a ticketed event for HS. Very cool idea! And, they had fireworks? BONUS!! - mrsincredible  1317.7 #4 11:33AM

Made it to Florida earlier today... The magical express at the airport couldn't find our reservations for half an hour and I started freaking out!!! Finally we found them and were on our way... We got to the Art of Animation and they upgraded our Ariel room to a Finding Nemo family suite right in front of the pool because of the trouble!!! I am happy for the turn out... Disney Magic is real...!!!!  More...

Doesn't anyone have any information on the store in Downtown Disney that makes you a customs Baseball bat? My bf and I will be there for 5 days next week and he wants to get one... There is very limited information online about it... Can someone please help?? Thank you!
Team Mickey. Lots of great sports things. - Maleficent69  128.2 #63 11:54PM
It is in team Mickey. We had it done a couple of times. They are very cool. You can watch them make them through the window. It is specifically made to order you pick size, wood, and engraving and that all dictates the price. We have had little ones made that were 30. And a regulation bat that was 110. It all depends in your specifics. - mmddgp  1062.7 #7 2:46AM
How long does it take to make a regulation bat? - disneywasted  8.5 #12667 11:20PM
It doesn't take that long. It all depends on if there are any other customers getting it done. You Carlos ace your order, walk around and come back also - mmddgp  1062.7 #7 7:26AM
"You can also place you orde" dang auto correct! - mmddgp  1062.7 #7 7:31AM
Thank you!! - disneywasted  8.5 #12667 2:34PM

Hello everyone! I am New to the Disney World MW, I live in Southern California and i am a Annual Passholder for Disneyland! I am going to WDW for the first time Sept 12 ( So close yet so far..) I upgraded my Disney pass for the Premier Pass for both Florida and Disneyland... I am just wondering if there is any tips for a WDW newbie? Greatly Appreciate it!!!!!
Welcome, yay for your first trip, are you staying on property? Made dining ressies? WDW is pretty huge and can be overwhelming so try and relax and take in as much as possible, but know you won't do everything , there are many hidden gems at Epcot and animal kingdom , so definitely take the time to explore those two parks , if you are staying on property take advantage of the extra magic hrs, a lot of people love to resort hop also, if you don't have a car , you can resort hop using the resorts monorail it's a great way to see some really beautiful areas , at the grand Floridian , the contemporary and the poly which has self serve dole whip, hope you have a blast:) - tracsant  1502.5 #2 4:20PM
