Yes!!
It's been many years since I have been to rope drop in fact never with the grandkids😁 but they do a cute show at the train station before opening once in you can get some rides out of the way before it starts getting busy. A couple years ago we got there earlier than usual and got all of tomorrow land done before our 1030 lunch at bog then our fast passes started at 1130 and had themDone before parade time. So I thought that was great - mmddgp  1283.4 #5 9:32AM

We like staying at the Pop Century. In Dec we stayed 2 days at Pop then moved to Art of Animation. Wished we had stayed at the Pop. We liked the food court and rooms better.  - jbzdogz  24.5 #157 3:57PM

I've stayed at both a few times and you really can't go wrong with either. I prefer POR, my husband prefers POFQ. French Quarter is smaller with one bus stop, food is only QS but you can walk to Riverside for additional food choices. Riverside is beautiful, it's large but very manageable. I love the royal rooms, they are quick walk to the main bus stop and there is a closer bus stop behind the bui  More...

I love the royal rooms, they are quick walk to the main bus stop and there is a closer bus stop behind the building. I enjoy walking around POR, the theming is beautiful. Both have live entertainment in he bar area and boat to downtown Disney. I definitely like the mansion buildings at POR better them alligator bayou buildings.  - perdita  74.2 #89 5:46PM
I thought riverside looked prettier in videos. How about the pools? My kids will be 14 and 17 at the time of the trip. I want them to enjoy it - ncjal  321.0 #28 6:08PM
We,only stayed at POR...rooms are nice, good size, cm who helped check us in was, really nice...some buildings is pretty far from the main lobby...but one good thing the bus drops you off behind curtain buildings... - islandgirl58  479.1 #19 6:19PM
Thanks Shari! After staying at Coronado, not much will seem bigger!  - ncjal  321.0 #28 7:12PM
I only been to French Quarter! I like it coz it has an intimate setting and it is smaller among the 2. Everything is walking distance with POFQ! And i like the pool. - otilegna  2806.2 #53 7:54PM
One bus stop only. And foodcourt is quite small (but they got yummy foods!). As long as you will not visit WDW during humid weather, walking will be alright - otilegna  2806.2 #53 7:56PM

I've stayed preferred room at both CBR and POR and also stayed in royal room at POR.  my favorite and the one I would do again is the royal room at POR. Royal rooms are a quick walk to the food court, we were in building 90 and there was a bus stop behind the building which was very close.
Hi Nicole! I've stayed at CBR, and it was my least favorite by far, however, that was because the rooms were dated and ours had lots of mold (I'm allergic). CBR has been updated and looks beautiful now! I, would choose POR, because I have not stayed there, in fact, the next time we stay on site we will most likely stay there!  Good luck picking!  What do the kids pick? - DizneyGirl  1124.5 #8 5:40AM
Thanks Melissa! Kids are still sleeping right now, I woke up to see there was a sale extending to June! Online now researching rooms and rates!  - ncjal  321.0 #28 5:48AM

Coronado is my favorite!  - DizneyGirl  1124.5 #8 9:40AM
honestly, Coronado is one of my faves too!! - ncjal  321.0 #28 9:51AM
Yay trip planning!!!!!!  We've stayed at both, loved both. The only thing I would mention is to check to see where the Royal rooms are. If I remember correctly, they're kind of far from the food/bus stop. We always get preferred rooms at both of these resorts because they are so big. POR had 4 bus stops, CBR has 7!  When we stayed at CBR, we rented a car which made the trip much better!  We would have waisted so much time having to sit through 7 bus stops. Both resorts are beautiful, both have great food courts. When we stay at POR, we stay in Alligator Bayou, right by the food. I love the grounds, very green, lots of nature around (but different than the camping feel of Ft.W). POR has the boat to Disney Springs which we love. CBR is closer to Epcot which we also love.  You can't go wrong with either! πŸ˜‰ - BagGal  345.3 #26 6:54AM
Thanks Schenley! I am super excited about this sale, now we can seriously plan!! June is getting closer!  - ncjal  321.0 #28 7:15AM
Great question! I've been tossing up a royal room for our next trip...but I do LOVE the speedy bus service at pop...but then again do I just go for it and stay at the contemporary πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. My husband laughs that planning "fake" trips is my hobby! He will be surprised when I book one! 😜 - brittandkell  529.3 #429 5:56PM

Hi, we stayed at CBR 2 years ago and other than them having great pools; we were not impressed. We stayed at the Royal Guest Room at POR, in the Magnolia Bend section last week and we loved it. Great bus riding and food options on the resort grounds. It is also very beautiful there. So happy you have the chance to go. Enjoy!Β  - Gatorgaljlb  9.8 #259 9:06PM
How is the noise level? The noise at CBR was surprisingly low, and our room was near the bus stop. At AKL the noise level was low and we had a savanna view. Contemporary, horribly noisy which lead me to hardly getting any sleep. For our next trip I have been leaning towards POR. - Lelundrial  774.6 #266 8:32AM

Last trip we got to MK for rope drop & went to see Mickey as soon as we walked in. Waited only a few minutes & talking to Mickey was a fun way to start the day. Try that if you plan on going early
I think it's worth doing at least once. You will need the FP more for Enchanted Tales as that is usually at least a 45 minute wait, Mickey is usually not more than a 20 minute wait. - Andrea84  732.1 #12 2:58AM

Let Disney travel know all your concerns. I stayed at CS a few years ago with my mom & she has mobility issues also. I also called the resort a few days before arrival & told them my concerns about room location. We ended up a room that was very close to the main building & bus.
Better call them (the company you get ur reservation) now and tell them all of yor concern, so that it is recorded on your profile... - otilegna  2806.2 #53 5:18AM
Thanks. I booked directly through Disney so I guess I'll just call and see what they say. I was just hoping someone here has had luck when making requests with a resort reservation. - Mommaof4  9.8 #261 6:44AM

I hated FP+. The old way was so much better. It was quicker to show a paper fast pass to the first cm & hand it to the second cm then it is to scan the band. The lines to get FP+ were very long, don't remember long lines with the old system. Also hated picking FP+ in advance & most of the time the app didn't work in the park
We saw that on BTMRR long before FP+. Now, it looks like a more common occurrence. Do you think they will lower the number of FP for each time slot? That's really all they can do to correct this. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1457.0 #3 4:40AM
Not entirely true. Best way to fix it is remove it completely - IndyandMarion  1278.9 #6 4:48AM

How well do you think one would do attraction wise without using FP+? This is just so unappealing to me and I can see the difference FP make for stand-by times (so grateful at DL they don't have it for TSMM). Using FP to dine also seems crazy but maybe that's just me... What's wrong with reservations? - missmimi90  2034.6 #87 10:37AM
It really depends on time of year. Peak times and wanting to ride key attractions, I would choose fp . I think the only fp for dinning is bog / lunch and that's because it doesn't take reservations. I do enjoy the fact of not having to run into the park in the morning. Tickets in hand to get a fp. - mmddgp  1283.4 #5 10:58AM
Honestly we very rarely use FP , we used FP Because it was new and we wanted to try it , but I'm one of the ones who can't stand fp , that's just my opinion , we had all kinds of problems with app also , some rides no matter what are going to have a long stand by line no matter what depending when your there , I prefer to wait in stand by and enjoy conversation and the que than get annoyed about something I reserved a while back , it just doesn't work for us and the way we vacation , - tracsant  1519.9 #2 12:59PM

I was there last week & hated the new system. FP+ is awful, I thought all the lines were longer including FP lines. And the my Disney experience app didn't always work in the parks so if I wanted to change one of my three selections I couldn't so I was stuck with pre planned ride times. Don't even get me started on only allowing 3 FP a day in the same park, if I left one park before using all 3 F  More...
Mind boggling! Being a 'first buser' rather than a planner I can see that we may not be riding as many rides as usual and our usual park hopping strategy to beat the queues may not work. Mmm still Disney though! - rink2  285.9 #30 1:00PM
