Joshua's 9th birthday is in 10 days, so tonight a trip to the pet store brought Nemo and Dori home to be our new pets.
Spent some time this weekend working on our countdown calendar. Can not wait to finish it and post pictures. Maybe this coming weekend I will have some free time to work on it.
It surprised me this morning when the CM was checking my information and could not believe we were truthful and honest about Aaron turning 3 the day before we leave. She said most people would pass them off as 2 to still get in free. What message would that give Joshua, that it is ok to lie if you benefit from it. I would rather pay the extra $, be honest, and set the right example for my 9yr old.
Back when we booked our vacation for December there were no specials or discounts the week we were going. Faithfully I check the Disney web site to see if anything has changed. Last night I noticed if you booked by September 29th you could get a % off your room. I ran my dates and resort and called Disney bright and early this morning. 10 minutes out of my morning and calling just to check just saved me $358.58. It pays to stay on top of everything and to take the time to call if you have a question, look what it saved me. :)
Had to share my Winnie the Pooh from when I was a baby. He is 40 yrs old, and I recently found him in storage. My Aaron has claimed him as his own, which warms my heart.
For 2 years I have tried to find Aaron a Mickey Mouse costume for Halloween. Either too small, out of stock, or way too expensive. Today I won an ebay auction for about $5 more than I wanted to spend, but free shipping and no tax. Aaron will be so excited when it comes.
They came, they came! We got our Very Merry Christmas Party tickets in the mail today. I expected paper cards like in the past but these are plastic like the park passes. I am so excited!
Just bought 25 trader pins off ebay for our trip in December. At least its a start. Will need more so both boys have some to trade. A little at a time.
Yippee! Just purchased our families tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We decided to go on our first night there. So excited, only 90 days to go!
Good morning MW family! Joshua is all set to start 4 th grade today. Only 95 days until our Disney World vacation.
Changes are being made to our dining reservations, sat down with family and decided on a whole different approach. Sunday we will arrive early afternoon and plan on doing the Christmas party at night so don't want to waste time with a sit down. Monday headed to H.S. with dinner at Mana Melrosa's. Tuesday A.K. with dinner downtown at Fultons Crabhouse. Wed day trip to Universal. Thurs. Epcot with a late lunch at Rose and Crown Pub in Britian. Fri M.K. with lunch at Cinderellas Table. Saturday headed home, every minute to he savored and not spent eating. Cut out the Character meals because last year Aaron didn't eat anything because he was so concerned with the characters. No buffets because they are too difficult with a toddler. Hope we made the right decision but I feel good with it.
For those of you at the 180 mark, FYI, Be Our Guest reservations are up and running online. I checked all the days we will be there and still no reservations open, but I find it weird that the reservation times were from 4 something only to 6 pm. No wonder they are booked solid, and now explains when the cm told me yesterday that they would be opening more times up.
I am still upset about my bad experience yesterday with my dropped BOG reservation, but called this morning and talked to a very nice CM who said don't give up. Online reservations start tomorrow and she said give it a few days and try. More times might be added to dining times. I can hope.
Very unhappy! I spent 3 hrs trying to make a reservation, got transfered to actual person, waited 1 hr to talk to person. No reservations available. No help at all from CM when I explained that the automated had a reservation for me before they transfered me. So now in tears and give up!
We are @ the 40 minutes of redial to make a BOG reservation. I refuse to give up, but eventually have to head to work. I might end up breaking my redial button I have used it so much.
Just realized our first night dinner reservation is just as the park is changing over to Mickeys Christmas Event, will this be a problem for us? Will they let us eat and than leave the park?
How do I make the most out of the dining plan? Any great tips I should know? Thank you!
106 days to go. What should we make sure we don't miss? This will be my 5th trip, Joshua's 3rd, and Aaron's 2nd. I always feel like there was something special we forget to do.
Well, we did it, made our reservations on Tuesday. 12/2-12/8 at Wilderness Lodge. Made a few dining reservations today and have put planning into full mode. So excited!
