When we go to Wdw at the end if January my son will have to miss a week if school. He's only in kindergarten, but I already feel guilty about it. I really don't know what we'll do when he gets older, since I really don't want to go during the super crowded (and expensive!) school vacation weeks. Thoughts on taking kids out of school for a Disney trip?
My son is in fourth grade and we took him out this week. Just asked his teacher for his work. Not sure what we will do when it is middle school. - Bakerjars  219.9 #21 7:05AM
My oldest started first this year and its much harder. They have a reading and spelling test every Friday and a math test every other Weds. There is no way I could skip 5 days..I'm going to take advantage of teacher planning day so that will give Fir sat sun and let him take off one Mon..Kindergarten was easy breezy..we study every night.. - justGoofin  103.3 #44 7:05AM

We'll be at Carib. Beach Res for a week in Jan and booked w/ the free dining plan offer. I've never had the dining plan before - any tips? I've already booked LOTS of reservations for all the table service meals for places we know we want to eat at. I'm a little worried that all the restaurants are going to be crazy busy because of this promotion.

You booked during an off peak period so the crowds won't be too bad. The dining plan is a good move and the promotion shouldn't affect your experience in a negative way. I hope you have a great vacation! CBR is a nice resort by the way! - Jalex239  379.8 #7 7:18AM

Jan. Is a great time to go. Weather is awesome and crowds are lower so the DP should be a breeze for you. Get to your restaurants about 15 minutes before your actual reservation time. Sometimes the CM can fit you on sooner.  - Tinkerbell1265  371.5 #8 8:52PM

Hi everyone! First time posting on MW. Trip to Wdw booked for January with my parents, husband and 2 sons (they will be 5 and 3 when we go). We went last Jan too (1st time there with the kids) and had such a good time - as soon as Deals for jan came out we had to book another trip. Last time we stayed at Bay Lake Towers- amazing!! This time we'll be at Carribean Beach Resort. Any thoughts on CBR? I know it won't be blt ...

We stayed at CBR resort last year! Loved it my. My daughter loved it best :). The only downfall I thought the bus service was very slow getting over there. Allow enough time if u a have reservations anywhere. Have fun - navseawife  94.6 #49 7:18AM
Thanks everyone! I love the posts here. I've been reading for awhile - all the Wdw news and chats are getting me so excited for our trip. I've heard great things about CBR, and my boys love pirates, so I'm hoping it will be warm enough to use the pool at least once while we're there. I looked into getting one of the pirate themed rooms, but figured it made more sense to get a preferred room (it didn't seem like they offer preferred pirate rooms). - blanders76  6.5 #271 8:32PM
