Ever since they "enhanced" their site. I noticed it goes down a lot. Even after I had booked our cruise. I was still getting a message that I had no upcoming cruises. Three weeks after I had made the first payment.
We are watching the cruise line planning DVD right now, just got it in the mail today. The only cruise I'll even consider lol. - txdisneymomma  124.5 #65 3:16PM

Ah man, we don't be back until June.
You can call them and buy them over the phone all that is left is the ten dollar ones. The wife just ordered ours. 1-407-566-4985 - clubkid74  38.2 #124 6:34PM
But shipping is  $15!! That's crazy!  - DizneyGirl  968.0 #8 7:00PM
$15 bucks for thin pieces of paper?!?!? This is why I hate the fact shipping is based off of order total. Not actual weight of the items. - Lelundrial  711.3 #283 7:48PM
I did a Disney online survey today, their idea, and I gave them whatfor πŸ˜‚ a shopping survey. They've been messing up my orders! - jacdanfan  12150.4 #6 7:59PM
It's because they send it certified mail. Have to sign for it that is why it is so much - clubkid74  38.2 #124 8:24PM
That makes sense, but it doesn't cost them $15 to send it even certified unless rates have increased substantially,  recently.  - DizneyGirl  968.0 #8 9:01AM
I hope I get a survey as well Jacdanfan. I recently placed an order with them and my notifications have been all over the place. First it shipped, then it appeared it got canceled, and then it indeed shipped again. I contacted guest services and was given a lecture on how charges appear on bank statements. Yeah I took accounting dear and that is not what I asked!  - Lelundrial  711.3 #283 9:26AM

We have done it a total of 3 times and enjoyed it every time. Rides are walk on, there is a show that happens in Tomorrowland. We saw parts of it when we were on the People Mover. Merchandise you can only get during the party, and the special Sorceror's Magic Kingdom card. My son wasn't worried about meeting the characters at all, and we only ever got that watered won hot chocolate once. We still   More...
Well no hot cocoa or cookies!😁 no characters at all?! I loved seeing mickey minnie Daisy and Donald in their winter outfits. I love seeing the lights all decked out and yes you can see them at night on any other given night. They do show holiday wishes which are different from the normal but fireworks are fireworks which comes down to the parade and you can only see the Christmas parade on the nights of the Christmas party except the week of christmas when there is no party anymore than they have the parade during park hours. So it pretty much comes down to the parade and the snow in Main Street.  - mmddgp  1064.4 #7 2:56PM
My kiddos are going through that stage that they don't care to do meet and greets. I, personally, would love to see some characters that you don't normal see, like Jack. I told the girls I would be doing a few if we go. Thank you Gayle, really appreciate the info!! - DizneyGirl  968.0 #8 5:27PM
i did love spending time at Epcot in the countries for their story tellers and we did that twice but when are you going again.  - mmddgp  1064.4 #7 3:03PM
Gayle, I would LOVE the story tellers and I would see each and every one. Unfortunately, we are going too early to see them. We will be there around November 5th. - DizneyGirl  968.0 #8 5:27PM
Aww I'm sorry πŸ˜ͺ besides the osborne lights that was my most favorite thing - mmddgp  1064.4 #7 5:43PM
i did the christmas party last dec2015. first time doing it at MK. I love it because of the fireworks and the parade. BUMMER that it just rained on me. the hot choco is somewhat so-so. depends if its a freshly made, or if its sitting there forever. but in general, you will get to see the fireworks and parade early... they will do that during the actual christmas week (no more party, but that is a BUSY BUSY week!) - otilegna  2783.0 #51 10:05PM
We usually go at least once during our trip...one year went twice...if you haven't been to one, its a nice experience... Especially charaters dressed up in holiday attire...rides nothing special, more for the parade and fireworks... - islandgirl58  462.2 #19 7:17AM

First are you renting a car? I have stayed at an Embassy Suites and done Universal and Disney. The shuttle from the hotel to Universal wasn't bad at all. The shuttle for WDW was awful. There were only two return times, and both were before 10pm. It only dropped off and picked up at Epcot. Staying off site is going to be cheaper.
We will be going in early to mid August - TakeMeToNeverland19  28.1 #6372 4:55PM
Hello and welcome to the   How exciting a first trip to wdw   Through the years I have booked many ways from using a travel agent, AAA,the Disney travel company for both room only and packages. At times everyone of them have been the cheapest route, it all just depends on who is offering specials. If you have the time you can search just room then ticket prices sometimes it works in your favor. Lately I have just been using Disney to book the package. I just like it because everything is just streamlined on you magic bands then you can make dinning ressie( highly recommend) and your fast passes. If you are not a table service type of person you can probably skip the dinning plan and wing it. The all star resorts are super cute especially if you have little ones as well as is pop century resort. As far as universal with the 8 of you you can get a van to take you there for around 40. For all of you. I say go early and stay late and if your only going there one day get the park to park ticket especially if you are Harry Potter fans. I have never been to KSC, always wanted to but you could do the same thing there. You can also rent a car do a couple of days but with eight of you it might be a little high. Happy planning  - mmddgp  1064.4 #7 5:36PM
Thanks for the reply! Would you know which package is best with Disney? We are both Harry Potter fans, but is that considered a separate park? Thanks for the help! - TakeMeToNeverland19  28.1 #6372 6:09PM
Harry Potter is not at Disney it is at universal and is a totally different park but when you buy a universal park to park ticket you will be ableTo goTo both parks. Universal has diagonal alley and islands of adventure has hogsmede and they are both joined with the hog warts express. Right now the best package is the summer awaken special.  - mmddgp  1064.4 #7 6:23PM
Haha sorry I meant to put is HP a separate park from universal. That's weird that they split it up between two parks though. Is the summer awakens package for Disney? - TakeMeToNeverland19  28.1 #6372 8:58PM
Yes summer awaken is for Disney. I think the plan for hp was to use the train to transport you from hogsmede to diagon alley so that's why it is in two parks but they are both very cool areas. I am not a Hp fanatic but those who are say it is very well done. I'm sure you will love it - mmddgp  1064.4 #7 7:08AM
Welcome to the FLip side. We do stay both onsite and off, it's by far cheaper to stay offsite. I use homeaway.com and have paid as little as $55 a night for a 3 bedroom/3 bath townhome in a gated community with a heated pool and such. There are several townhome rentals just 10 minutes from Disney and if you rent a car, it's still cheaper than an onsite resort. However, there is a certain magic to staying onsite and the value resorts are bigger than life and SO much fun! If you book onsite I always book directly with Disney, it's faster and less hassle and if anything goes wrong, they can fix it much faster! Β Good luck!! - DizneyGirl  968.0 #8 6:37AM
Welcome to he Flip Side!!  I, too, am a DL'r who will be venturing to WDW for the first time his year, in December!  We went with a 9-night stay at Port Orleans Riverside, and 8-day park hoppers.  It wasn't horrible price-wise. - AngiMouse  104.9 #3566 5:02PM

1. DCA2. Breakfast buffet, Plaza Inn. Ordering off menu Storytellers.3. Depends on how far you are willing to walk. Desert Palms Inn & Suites is a nice place. Just a bit of a walk. We have also stayed at the Camelot Inn and it was nice. Shorter walk.
You can contact me at my MW username + gmail.com. Please send address and I'll send you all the current park maps and some Anaheim Tourist magazines with maps, restaurants, coupons, etc. -- There is a lot going on at the parks now and characters get moved around. Sulley meet & greet was in Hollywood Land but I noticed the other day that Captain America was there. Do not know if they are sharing space or what. There is a Pixar Parade that features Monster characters, etc. Goofy's Kitchen has a character meal but I'm no expert. otilegna may have good advice there. There several hotels within walking distance of the parks. Keep in mind, Disneyland isn't nearly as big or spread out as WDW. If you look at Google maps you can see hotels on Harbor Blvd. within short walking distances (5-15 minutes). We like staying at the Anaheim Majestic Hotel on Ball Road. It used to be the Sheraton. Has a free shuttle service to hotel every half hour all day. You can also walk but it is further than other locations. What we sometimes do is walk the back way to Mickey & Friends parking lot and take the Disney tram from parking lot to DTD. You can also post questions on the DL side to get more opinions and suggestions. Happy planning. - jacdanfan  12150.4 #6 1:54PM

1. - Lelundrial  711.3 #283 1:52PM
Thank you for the info!  I appreciate you!! - BagGal  345.2 #25 2:14PM
I love the idea of the Plaza Inn!  I ❀️ Minnie!  Thanks again! - BagGal  345.2 #25 2:33PM
We have never actually done any character dining at DL! For many years (before I discovered how much I love the DL hotels) we stayed at the Mariott Fairfield and loved it. You can request a pool side/park side room and literally see DL from your window.  We have also stayed at the Hilton Anaheim at the convention center and paid a small upgrade to a Disney view room and could see the fireworks from our window.  There are lots of close hotels! A friend of ours stayed at Anabel and loved it...I'm so excited for you!!! - brittandkell  519.7 #422 4:50PM
Thank you!!!!!!  I have a friend who stayed at the Anabel and loved it too. I'm going to check all these out. Thanks a bunch!! - BagGal  345.2 #25 1:29PM
We stay at the desert inn and suites. It's like one hotel over from The street light that you cross to enter dl/DCA. It's a very nice and short walk after a long day and we've found their prices to be cheaper than farther away hotels too  - brodysmommy  434.6 #519 10:11PM
Oh wow!  That is close. It's hard to tell online how close things are. Thank you very much!! - BagGal  345.2 #25 1:30PM
