Has anyone ever planned a family reunion in Disney World? How would I go about planning this?
If it is for more than 8 people, when you call let them know its for a Grand Gathering. They will get you a block of rooms instead of seperating the parties. Also be aware when booking dining that they will add gratuity to all checks. They make it pretty special. And if you are Flying in make sure that you take advantage of the bus line. Just let Disney know what the flight number and time of arrival will be. You never have to worry about your luggage it Magically appears at your room :) - TinkeringHalo

I was told the same thing. But I found a way around it. I bring a box with me or get an empty one at the gift shop at the resort I'm staying at and I ship my stuff home via UPS Ground. Works like a charm and I have a few "presents" to open by the time I get home.😄 - Tinkerbell1265

I've never gone with a large group but I believe Disney may do group discounts. Check Disney.com. There might be some info there. If not, you can always call Disney & speak to a reservation specialist. They can give you the full lowdown. Hope this helps!😊 - Tinkerbell1265

Grand Gatherings are groups of 8 or more (over age 3). All the info I've seen on it suggests they will discontinue this service as of January, 2012. We did one in 2006 with over 30 people! It was an experience to remember. - Jalex239
