@BagGal and other MW Family that are going to WDW this year - have you been to touringplans.com? There you will find a crowd calendar that predicts the crowd levels for every day of the year, that way you can plan which days to go to which parks. It also has a list of the refurbishments. Sounds like a good plan, but we can't make rope drop. We are from a different time zone, so it's earlier for us than the EST, plus the kids are tired from being up late. Someday when it's just the two of we will be using those EMH - DizneyGirl  731.2 #7 4:26PM

thanks for the replies about dining. even after reading some websites I still feel so very overwhelmed by the whole trip. we like the buffet style restaurants. we have the dining deluxe plan. should I make the online reservations or in the phone? also sorry about the picture earlier. I thought I was making it my profile picture. very new at this
I echo what BagGal said. I've done it both ways but online is especially convenient for visualizing alternate times & restaurants & saves you from having to "think on your feet" if your 1st choices aren't available. Having to tweak your dining plans may also involve changing what park you planned to visit. I created a color-coded spreadsheet for all our park & dining plans that has worked great for us. My friends laugh lovingly at how organized our vacations are, but it's so easy to make a copy of the same spreadsheet & just plunk in the new plans for each trip! I also discovered the beauty of Dropbox last year, so I send a copy there; I have the DB app on my phone & it makes it easy to change our plans on the go if we need to. Don't stress anymore about it; this is fun. Happy planning! - SueBoo  18.6 #168 6:31PM

I've made reservations both ways, but I preferred making them online because I didn't feel so rushed. If times you want are filled up, you can take your time to re-plan. Try not to feel stressed. Makin reservations is part of the fun! :) Good luck! - BagGal  239.6 #32 4:45PM

Thanks for the great info. If you ask me, I think internet access for hotel guests should be free across the board. You're paying enough to stay there already that I just think it should be included free of charge. DVC members, however, do get free internet access. In August when we were there, I needed to call tech support to get an access code because the connection didn't go thru automatically, and they were great. - SueBoo  18.6 #168 5:18PM

To any DVC members. Do u honestly feel like it's a good investment? And if you don't mind my asking what does it really end up costing monthly including annual fees? Want to know what's best for my family before we book our next vacation.
We love it. We go on a Disney trip at least 2-3 times a year which we wouldn't be able to afford if we had to pay for a hotel every time. We currently have 250 points, I think we pay around $200 monthly with dues. - Luckyducker  9.3 #259 6:07AM
Thank u :) - NcMoM  17.1 #179 6:11AM
You can find good deals on resales but keep in mind, resale DVC has some restrictions like you can't use them for cruises and I believe non-DVC resorts. Check into it thoroughly first! - JetsamsTwin  379.9 #18 6:42PM
What Jalex239 said about resales is correct, you can't book non-dvc resorts or cruises but you can find pretty good deals. You also have the option of buying into a home resort that is not being sold anymore by Disney. Some of the resales don't have any points available to use for a year or two because the owner already used them, but the listing will give you all the details and the cost of the annual dues, etc. - Andrea84  696.8 #8 8:10PM

Two out of three times I've hated the food at dinner in Akershus except for their cold buffet. ABC Commisary was terrible. San Angel was not good when I went years ago. I didn't care for the Asian food at The Land but I've enjoyed everything else there so far. Thought I would have liked the food at Raglan Road better. I know you will all get mad at me for this but I'm not to thrilled with LeCellie. Horrible the first time, gave it another shot, still don't care for it. - PixieDust76  93.4 #73 12:00PM
As I'm thinking about it, I definitely have to agree that some places I went to years back were better then than they are now. Coral reef is one example. Definitely hit or miss each time you go. Same with mama melrose...the only thing with mm is that is the only place I've ever sent the food back, asked for the check, and walked out without eating to go somewhere else. And places like there or the coral reef I won't go to again bc there are definitely a lot better places to go even when they're on their game. Like california grill and even olivias. - Csefransky  3.7 #678 12:26PM

OK, MW Disney fanatics, how many times have you been to WDW and when is your next trip scheduled? This should be fun to see!! For us, we have been 7 times (if I counted right) and headed back 10/05/11, haven't been back since 2005, and oh, how I miss it so!! :)
We've been annual/seasonal passholders since 2000 but I can't remember how many visits exactly. I'd guess we've been somewhere between 60 to 70 visits since 2000. I'm not counting my childhood visits since the 80's in that estimate. We will be there on 10/28 for a short trip and on 11/20 for 7 days! - JetsamsTwin  379.9 #18 2:07AM
@Jalex - HOLY COW!! How awesome is that?! I am super jealous at your # of visits. I never got to experience Disney as a kid, first trip, I was 29, but you can bet my kids will, and already have!! :) - mrsincredible  1051.7 #4 2:13AM

I'm researching cruises as a possible birthday gift for my bday in Feb. has anyone ever been on any of them? We're looking at Bahamas or Caribbean for 3 or 4 nights so we can also hit the parks. Any input is appreciated! :-)
A co-worker of mine went on one in 2009 and she had THE BEST time!! She had so much fun she didn't want to come back! - Tinkerbell1265  442.0 #17 4:15PM
I did the land and sea thing back in 2001 and the problem was the three day cruise just wasn't long enough!! I have no other complaints, Disney's island is amazing! - toogrumpy  141.5 #56 4:39PM
I did the same style trip toogrumpy did in '09. 3 nights is not long enough. I recommend 5 nights minimum. The Dream has 2 adult restaurants and that water ride. I have been on the Wonder twice, the 2nd time just last month for Alaska. I always had something to do and that was a 7 night cruise. - Lelundrial  569.4 #335 8:41PM
Thank you, Lelundrial! That was very helpful. Our other choice would be to go from NY for 8 nights but then we don't have time to play in the parks. Ha ha I'm okay with that, it just means another trip to plan! :) - flyingpenguin  9.5 #253 4:45AM

Calling all the WDW pros for this question... What are some little known facts or tips about the parks, entertainment, parade viewing, character spotting, etc.? Give me everything you got!! Going in 3 weeks for 5 days and want to make the most out of every second!! :)
I could list several, but the best advice I can give is go to www.allears.net. There are tons of tips and reviews and you can read then all and decide which ones you would benefit from the most. The one tip I'd give, send your kids on the pirate cruise, they start at Beach Club Resort, Caribbean Resort, etc and go on a 2 hour treasure hunt, snacks provided and treasure divided up st the end for only $36! - DizneyGirl  731.2 #7 5:41AM
