POTD: Animal Kingdom For the foodies, here is an example of the food catered by Tusker House and served in a tiffen box during the Wild Africa Trek. The bottom photo shows my vegetarian box while the top left is an example of the standard box. In the top right, POG, yummy!
POTD: Animal Kingdom You can't talk about AK without talking about the Wild Africa Trek. This tour takes Guests through AK's Africa in an immersive experience. The tour is composed of light hiking, fall protection (while standing in a cliff over hippos or crossing a "rickety" rope bridge over crocodiles), a private safari, and a delicious meal catered by Tusker House. This tour is pricey, but you receive a PhotoPass CD with high quality photos of you and the animals as seen during your tour and a portion of the cost is donated to Disney's Wildlife Fund. They occasionally offer discounts for tours scheduled during the middle of the day, a great bargain!
Good morning everyone! Don't forget, the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend goes on sale to the general public today at 12 Noon eastern/9 am pacific. I fully expect the Dumbo Double Dare, 10k (which I will be running - yay!) and half marathon to sell out within hours! So, who's registered for what race(s)???
Good morning everyone. I hope you're having a great weekend! Yesterday, my favorite brand of running clothing (Oiselle) held a sample sale at their headquarters in Seattle's Green Lake neighborhood. I scored! This also gave me an opportunity to run around a foggy, but beautiful, lake (I'm the shadow in the bottom right). Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
@5DL Are you and your friends still running the Zooma race in Napa? Or, are you just doing the Wine & Dine? It's times like this that I wish I was a blogger! Any bloggers out there on the FLip Side? Mrs I? If you win, I'll be your reader!
Guess who's registered for the Disneyland 10k on Saturday, August 30th? This girl!!! Registration is now open for AP holders and DVC members (w/$10 discount). Registration will open to the general public on January 28th. If you're interested, don't wait! With the Dumbo Double Dare being offered again this year, I expect the 10k and Half to sell out quickly!
Since I now have three beautiful runDisney medals (and plan on earning a few more this year), I decided it was time to order something to display them! There are lots of Disney inspired designs to choose from, but this was my favorite. What do you think?
This afternoon Jacdanfan, goofygal, Psychguy, and I took our medal tour to the Big Thunder Ranch. It was so much fun celebrating with good friends! The stepsisters were hilarious (and they just loved Matt)!!!
This morning's Tinker Bell Half Marathon was so much fun! The weather was great and I felt good the whole way through. What an amazing weekend!
Mrs I, this ones for you! These are photos of Disneyland (just beyond the monorail track), Disney's California Adventure, and Downtown Disney all taken while standing in the same spot! The one direction I did not photograph (opposite DTD) is the hotel shuttle drop off area. Just beyond that is Harbor Blvd where my hotel is located (literally directly across the street). DLR is very different from WDW!
This one's for you Gary & Nancy... Congratulations on your accomplishment!
I'm loving my Inaugural Tinker Bell 10k bling! The race was a ton of fun and running through Disneyland was pure magic!
The highlight of day #2 (besides spending time with two local friends) was meeting Margaret Kerry, the Original Tinker Bell! Margaret Kerry will be 85 in May and was the model for the animators who created Tinker Bell! She is a very funny and adorable lady. It was such a pleasure to meet her and she gave me extra pixie dust to get through my races. "Just remember, it's a hop, skip, and a jump!" she said!
My second ride of the day was the Pirates of the Caribbean! I had forgotten how much better Disneyland's POTC is. They do such an amazing job setting the scene!
This morning I started my day with Indiana Jones! (No, Indy, it's not closed.) Its another beautiful day, and it's going to be a hot one! (87 yesterday!)
I'm having dinner in wine country! Cheese plate (with grapes, pecans, and breadsticks) and Argyle Pinot Noir (an Oregon red). This is my kind of dinner! (BTW, I'm wearing my Wine & Dine "I Did It T-shirt!)
Oh! I stopped by to say "hi" to Jeff at the Expo. He signed my book on the "Woo-Worthy" I met Jeff Galloway page!
This is my prize purchase at the Expo! The ladies performance jacket!!! I would like to thank bearlove for her generous gift card RAK. It helped bring the price of this beautiful jacket down to size!
Good afternoon everyone! I just returned from the Expo and picking up my race packets. On the left are the race shirts for the 10k and Half goodie bags. (The 10k shirt is a weird lavender.) Both are long sleeved. On the right is the ladies performance T-shirt (front & back). I also bought the "I Did It" performance T-shirt, but you will have to wait until I do it to see!
I would like to wish happy birthday to a very special friend! Tracy, I am so happy we met and so glad this past year gave us the opportunity to spend some time together. I hope your special day is a magical one my friend. Happy Birthday Tracy!
