I live in Seattle & took my first trip to Dineyland as a baby. I finally made it to WDW for the first time in 1998 & Disneyland Paris in 2007. Finally, in 2012 I became a proud Disney Vacation Club member!

While it was a long 13.1 miles... The Inaugural Disneyland Paris half marathon was a blast! The CM support was awesome (those French CM's have ENERGY!) and there was great entertainment on the course. Most importantly, it was a great excuse to get back to Europe! 🇫🇷 🇮🇹 🇬🇧
It was fun, congratulations on your castle to chateau, that medal is awesome. Such a shame we didn't make contact. :( - rink2  307.8 #30 12:50PM
We start our week in London tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to exploring the UK! 🇬🇧 - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1476.9 #3 1:17PM
Where are you headed? - rink2  307.8 #30 2:14PM
We will be based in London and have 3 days of tours outside of London including Leeds, Canterbury, Stonehenge, Windsor, Bath, Oxford, Cotswolds, Stratford-on-Avon, and Warwick. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1476.9 #3 12:26AM
Leeds? That's a long way north - by our standards anyway. It's not far from me. You are certainly getting around. You've chosen some beautiful places, full of history. Hope the weather picks up for you.  - rink2  307.8 #30 9:30AM
Those are some great tours! Stonehenge was closed for that foot and mouth when I visited, but I liked Warwick castle and Stratford and Oxford. My parents loved Bath - timonT  428.6 #21 1:23PM

Ah...the metric system! For someone accustomed to seeing mile markers, it was very interesting to see kilometer markers. This was seen at mile 13.0488! 😉
I was surprised to see all the km markers too - gave me a headache trying to work out how far to go!! Lol! - rink2  307.8 #30 12:52PM
At least you know how far a km is! LOL! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1476.9 #3 1:23PM

Here is a photo from the starting line of yesterday's Inaugural Disneyland Paris half marathon. There were only 4 corrals (A-D). But, they divided each corral into very small groups to start. We didn't start until at least 7:45!
Cool!  - disneycm  741.9 #11 12:49PM
That's different. I am also surprised at the start time being so late.  - mzdisnee  571.5 #15 1:42PM
The French (and the Italians) don't do mornings! The theme parks don't even open until 10 am! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1476.9 #3 1:27PM
Wow that is different. Hope you had a great time  - mmddgp  1333.4 #5 8:30PM
I must be more French than I realized- I don't do mornings either. (French is what I teach all day.) - teaching76  30.7 #0 2:03AM
I knew it: my parents must've adopted me from France, Italy, or Spain 😂 my husband's side of our family are all out the door by 6 am and in bed at 7:30-8. Everyone thinks I'm a weirdo  - Spoonful_O_Sugar  659.9 #335 6:31AM
That's an early start time for here! I'm guessing it was because they wanted to open the parks promptly   9am would be more typical.  - rink2  307.8 #30 9:24AM
We like our leisurely breakfasts ! - rink2  307.8 #30 9:25AM
I am part French so now I know why I'm a late morning person! 😂😂 - secretagentangel  8515.9 #12 4:21PM
Do you know how many runners? Was it as crowded as your other Disney races? - jacdanfan  13439.7 #6 9:45PM
I don't know how many runners there were, but it was comparable to other runDisney race weekends. There were a LOT of Americans as well as French and Brits. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1476.9 #3 12:23AM
There were a lot going for that C to C medal. Do you think it will be as popular next year? I must admit there were less runners than I expected.  - rink2  307.8 #30 9:26AM
My guess is there will be fewer resources miners next year. I wouldn't expect many of the Americans who made the trip this year to make it again next year. But, some people f those who couldn't make the inaugural year may go next year! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1476.9 #3 3:39AM
Wow that's interesting--did you like the smaller start groups?  Seems like that might help alleviate congestion.  Is that the hotel peeking through, under the arches?  What a great experience!  - Spoonful_O_Sugar  659.9 #335 6:33AM
I didn't like the start set up - it seemed so slow. Once in the course which was very narrow in parts it made sense. That is the Disneyland Hotel in the background.  - rink2  307.8 #30 9:22AM
Thanks for the feedback.  I don't know if you've done a DL race or not, but it can get very congested since it's so narrow, and I'm guessing that this would be somewhat similar.  Luckily I've been placed in "B" corral at DL the last couple races--so that helps a lot, but I've always wondered what it would be like if they metered people at the start line a bit more.  It would be hard to wait though, I see what you mean.   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  659.9 #335 4:01PM
I agree, it was a VERY SLOW start! But, it did help with congestion quite a bit. I was back in corral C and from asking around there was a BIG variety of paces in that group. But, I didn't find it to be a problem due to the staggered start. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1476.9 #3 3:42AM

Here is the view of a busy Main Street from the train station. We were surprised to learn they have a small Grand Canyon diorama too! Clearly the French's view of Americans is rooted in the Wild West!
