Here is the family behind the paver. The top left are my parents, Dave & Dar (with Poi's mom, Maui) formally of "Upper Redondo" WA. Twelve years ago when our paver was new you could also read my name, Tiff. That's me in the bottom right (next to the photo of Poi). Only 125 days to go! This year we are staying an extra 2 nights in an effort to have time to just enjoy being there and not feel so rushed. I want to have time to see & do all of the things we usually skip for the sake of time. Things we haven't done since our first trip and some things we've ever done! Thanks to the advice and support of my family and friends... I am now officially a proud DVC Member! Thank you all (especially Jalex239, CP85, and Andrea84) for helping me put this big decision into perspective. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to my first official "Welcome Home!" Okay Disneymom36... This is me, my mom, and my former boss after we got got in a torrential downpour while on Kilimanjaro Safaris in 2004!
Oh WOW!! Those are the moments that stink when you're going through them, but then fun to look back on. In October, it rained on us at the AK ALL.DAY.LONG!! We were soaked from head to toe, and after being in it all day, we decided to go back to the resort early and just hang out and watch TV in the dryness that evening. :) But, I love the pics we took that day. Every Disney memory is a GOOD one!! - mrsincredible

So, I made the call to DVC today. I was surprised (& saddened) to hear SSR is sold out and not currently available for wait list! My second choice, OKW, is available for wait list but they can't tell me if it will take weeks or months to get my points! AKV has some great incentives, but it still costs more and is so far away from DTD & Epcot, which I frequent. DVC members, what advice can you offer me?
I'm considering 120 points at AKV to take advantage of their incentives while I wait for 50-120 points at OKW. As a new DVC member, would I be overextending myself? - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad

What about buying "used". I sold my share of DVC from the the Beach club villas in less than a week. I'll bet u can find SSR on the preowned market for $90 a point. (or less) People are trying to get out of DVC everyday. - toogrumpy

Here's a question just for DVC members. What is your home resort and how often do you choose to stay there? What do you like most about your home resort or why do you choose to stay elsewhere?
Our home is the boardwalk villas. We go there once a year from anywhere from 8-12 days. My 3 top things about staying at the boardwalk are. 1). Easy walk to both Epcot and the studios. 2) the boys love the live entertainment at night. 3) mommy and daddy love, our one night out alone, at Jellyrolls. - Boardwalk245

Our first home was saratoga then we added blt, we never really stay at ss even though its beautiful its so spread out and imo has a apt complex feeling but I absolutely love blt ,makes me really feel like I'm on vacation and an Awsome location,but a lot of times we move around when we are there so we can sample everything the only one I haven't stayed is beachclub ,I loved them all just not too crazy about okw ,no elevators but still a nice resort:) - tracsant

Our first home is SSR. We bought it because it had cheaper annual fees compared to akl and we were just starting our family. We stayed there the first time in 2009 as family. Then we bought at grand Californian because we are two hrs from DL and go about once a month. It is nice to be able to stay over night, especially christmas with little ones. But I love akl kidani when we stayed in feb this year. BLT was cool since close to MK. - dvcfam4
