Does any one take alone trips to the parks? I'm finally coming down for my first time and my nephew and niece want to bail on me for a day and go to the space center. I want to spend as much time in the parks as possible so I'm considering going by myself. I would be there Saturday alone. Advice or tips? Anyone for a meet up?
Do it all the time. Real sense of freedom to do what and when you want. Plus you can just sit on a bench and people watch as long as you want. You'll love it! - IndyandMarion  1257.5 #1 2:08PM
Thanks does sound great! - BagGal  228.9 #31 2:13PM

I've never done the parks alone & I don't know if anyone else has When are you going? - Tinkerbell1265  441.1 #16 1:47PM
Im 18 and i LOVE to venture off to other parks while my family is up and away. I can go at my own place and i know i can count on the cast members to be my friend if i get lonely! LOL - Boardwalkgirl  55.2 #89 3:00PM
I might have a day on my own during my October trip. The rest of my party has talked about going to Universal, which doesn't interest me. I don't think I'd mind a day alone at Disney! I know I would feel safe & comfortable there. And there are several other MWers who will be around, so I'm sure I can keep myself busy if it happens! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  914.3 #4 5:13PM

Question to all you wdw peeps...I am coming down in Aug for 4/5 days. I know it's going to be super hot and busy. I just had foot surgery and tore a tendon so I might have to rent a wheelchair. Does anyone know if the lines are longer with the wheelchair? There is a possibility my rehad will have me ready by my trip. But I'm trying to decide what's going to be the best for my foot.
What everyone failed to mention is the guest assistance card from guest relations. (which is typically how people with wheelchairs are allowed to bypass the standby and go into the fastpass line as some people have stated). Let the GR person know your situation and they will make the decision on which card to give you. Be advised, many queue lines are built to code per the Disability Act and therefore some attractions won't accept the card for that reason. - IndyandMarion  1257.5 #1 4:26AM
Any suggestions will be helpful! - dhBelle04  279.1 #944 11:40AM
Thanks for the help! Hopefully I will be able to walk myself but its good to know my options if I can't. Thanks! Looking forward to meeting some of you in a month! - dhBelle04  279.1 #944 7:30PM

Finally just booked our WDW vacation! I've never been to the world before...just MANY times to the land. We are staying at the caribbean beach resort with a dining plan and reservations at chef mickeys for dinner. Any other must dos or experiences not to miss? I'm super excited ...50 days and counting
Is the caribbean beach resort good? I liked the pics so thats why we are booked there - dhBelle04  279.1 #944 7:26PM
I stayed there on my first trip to WDW, and it wasn't my favorite. Out of the moderate resorts, I love POFQ! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  914.3 #4 7:27PM
I really enjoy it. I've stayed there about 3 times and it's been very relaxing. I tried to book it for my November trip but we had to scale back and stay at a value resort. You'll enjoy it. - codiejoeCM  179.6 #44 7:29PM
Ahh, how exciting! Sounds like you got great reservations planned! Make sure to take tons of pictures!(: - MeganAnn  49.3 #95 6:26PM
We stayed at the Caribbean Beach in March. We ate just about everything they offer in the food court and the best thing was the salmon believe it not! (if you like salmon!) Also, be sure to request a room nearest to the Port area, it is a LONG walk from some rooms to get there for food, drinks, and main pool area! The property is gorgeous. - iwannaBAprincess  14.2 #7619 7:30PM
Our favorite thing from our two trips was the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party. I am told that the reservations for it open up about 30-60 days out. Not sure if that is correct, but it was about that when we got ours. It fills up fast cuz they only have room for 50 or so people. But it was an AMAZING experience! - poohbr1205  21.1 #149 7:08AM

Hey all! First time posting on the fl side! I am finally planning a trip to Disney world in Aug. I've lurked the lounge to pick up tips. But now I wanted to ask for recommendations. I will be there for 3-4 days staying in a value hotel on property but haven't decided which one yet. I'm picking up my neice who is a cm intern downthere so we get a hotel discount. I would love any help/tips/tricks yo  More...
I really like the disney world site and allears.net, go to the search section of allears and just type in things you are interested in most! Review the park info on line of everything they have to offer before you go. DW is so much bigger, so having a plan in place before you go of your must see and dos is great and helps you maximize your time. You won't be able to do everything in one trip. Enjoy AK and EPCOT, since those are so unique, but don't miss MK and HS. We like to start and finish our trips with MK. When you visit, try not to compare the two, and try not to be overwhelmed by the size. You will absolutely love it!! - mrsincredible  915.4 #3 8:10PM
Oh, and if you like character dining, take advantage of those since they only have a few at DL. Favorites are Chef Mickey's, Ohanas, and Crystal Palace. Do the dining plan and check out restaurants they don't have at DL. We enjoy the food as much as everything else, lol! - mrsincredible  915.4 #3 8:14PM
This is so helpful! Thanks so much! Keep the tips coming! :) - dhBelle04  279.1 #944 10:34PM
The most popular value resort seems to be Pop Century. Of course AoA is the newest value resort, but the prices seem to be higher than Pop. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  914.3 #4 7:16PM
I stay at the Value resorts & my fave is Pop Century. I've found it to be clean, well set up, quiet even for a resort that has a lot of families with small kids, the pools are fun too. If you stay at any of the Values be sure to get a Preferred Room. It's closer to the main hall & buses. - Tinkerbell1265  441.1 #16 9:15PM
