Climbers scaling the Matterhorn a while ago. Absolutely gorgeous day. Saw many runners this morning finishing the 5k. Really busy here. Hope all having a great weekend. BTW there are 4 climbers!
Goofygal and Psychguy on ToT. What goes up fast, comes down faster!
Saw these at DL yesterday. Something to go with all the great HM pix.
Relaxing with a tall one at Flo's!
Comic-Con! What a great time. Pic on right is probably the alien virus Goofygal and I caught there. Will post a report about our adventures soon. Nancy got to do something really awesome and met some really cool movie stars. It's her experience so I'll let her post it when she's feeling better. We were able to collect some Disney vinyls there (free!). Love Comic-Con swag! And we saw Russell and Carl there. As well as 1000s of other characters.
DizneyGirl! What a complete surprise! Nancy and I have been really sick and it really cheered us up. We're still recovering. Love the calendar. It is so creative and fun. Will keep close by to refer to often. Our official calendar for the next year! Love the bookmarkers and other goodies too. Thank you for thinking of us, we really appreciate it.
Good morning! If you recently received a Disneyland park map from us, hold on to it (not the DCA park map)! The Disneyland park map released June 15th was only in circulation for about 3 weeks. It had a mistake in it, can you find it? This park map may be a collector's item! Disneyland has a brand new park map with different cover art now. Sorry we didn't have enough of them to send everyone. We were trying to collect DCA maps and the Bugle at the time.
In the Best Laid Plans Department. Last night in San Diego the annual fireworks show was spectacular. The San Diego Bay, 4 barge show, expected to last 20 minutes lasted 20 seconds. Every firework went off at once! oooo ahhhh oh?
Joined the Radiator Springs Car Club last weekend. Have been cruising Main St. and Route 66 looking for a new set of white sidewalls. Bottom pic, red car, Goofygal is waving. Mailed 20 RAKs this week. Had a few DL maps that I sent but ran out. If you didn't get one, and want one, send an email and will get some more maps. Hope everyone has a great weekend and holiday week next week! KaChow!
First, I don't know how Nancy gets me to do these things. Hey Gary, let's spend the night at Disneyland (sleeping outside on concrete), it'll be fun. Well, it was, we had a great adventure. Met some wonderful CMs and a really nice couple from Canada.
We got home last night. During that 48 hour period we may have gotten 7 hours of sleep. It was rough and painful at times, but really worth it.
Friday and Saturday we only used our phones for taking pictures, otherwise they were put away. Normally we are posting wait times and uploading photos if we can (usually very difficult because of phone traffic). But we decided we wanted to soak in the experience, so much was happening everywhere.
So you know, we are reluctant to post pictures of Cars Land and the DCA makeover. We avoided looking at all the video and pictures that have been posted before we went. You can only experience a brand new attraction once and we didn't want any spoilers. I would suggest to all of you that want to visit DCA, do the same.
Okay⦠please don't shoot the messenger. DCA may be the best theme park to date. I am not making this comment based on what I like and don't like, but what a family with children or a wide segment of the population would prefer. Epcot is my favorite park and will always be a sentimental favorite. But DCA is incredible, if you look at the list of attractions and everything it offers, it is mind boggling. It's like Epcot and Hollywood Studios, combined! Wow!
It's all in the details. We really enjoyed the new publication, "The Buena Vista Bugle". It's quite funny. There's a story about the Hollywood Hotel being struck by lightening. Also a story about a price and a mermaid getting married recently. Etc, stories like that. This is surely a collector's item. Based on an article I read someone suggested the Bugle may only exist for a while (12 months?) then could be discontinued. Disneyland published a newspaper, the Disneyland News, in 1955 and quit after a while. So who knows. It really adds to the atmosphere and fun.
Buena Vista Street and the Red Car Trolley are amazing. The stores are so upscale and beautiful! Nancy and I were amazed, jaw dropping beautiful.
Radiator Springs Racers. The queue and storytelling are simply wonderful. So much to see and ponder as you wait, and wait, and wait, and wait. Wait times on Friday were about 5 hours. We didn't ride it Friday (way too tired to even attempt), but did get a chance on Saturday to ride it twice. When you stand there and look at what they did - it is amazing. Cadillac Mtn Range and Ornament Valley are so big you'd think you were in the middle of the desert. Just gorgeous.
Cars Land. Simply stunning. A must see at night with all the neon. Only 3 rides in Cars Land but all fun, fun, fun. And funny. Driving up and down Route 66 you'll find Lightning McQueen, Mater, and Red (Red has his fire nozzle on top of the truck, be careful, you may get soaked!). Full size moving vehicles that do amazing things! Many of the other character cars will be appearing throughout the year.
A shout out to CM Shaun, thank you for the pixie dust on Route 66. What a surprise! And thank you CM Michael for all the information and updates. Thank you CM Matt for making a long, long night tolerable, we really enjoyed meeting you and sharing stories. The CMs were especially amazing the entire weekend. We got a lot of pixie dust, or pity dust, I must have looked dreadfully tired and everyone was just so nice to me.
And good morning, everyone. Happy Father's Day to all. Happy Father's Day, John, thank you for all the wonderful photos last week. And congratulations, Melissa, on your website. We haven't had a chance to visit, but are really looking forward to it.
Waiting for DCA/Cars Land to open. Just another 5-6 hours to go. There are several hundred camping out in the Esplanade. Later arrivals in Downtown Dis area. Yawn. π
Happy Birthday DizneyGirl! Hope you have a great day! These Disneyland buttons should arrive in a day or two.
Here is a pic of the family paver at DL of a pretty special MWer! Can anyone guess who? Have a great Wednesday everyone!
Thank you, Ally! Just got your RAK! It's wonderful, really love the phone case and park maps! Nancy really appreciates the cute post-it pad! Really thoughtful of you!
We have a special room reserved at DCA Hollywood Hotel for Florida MouseWaiters. It's located on the "lo er" level. They serve a very special concoction.
@TimonT Hope you got my DM TXT. Sorry we couldn't do the meetup today, but Psychguy just left for DCA and will post a msg for you went he gets to DCA. Hope you all can meet and say hi. Ask him about all the high scoring hints for TSMM. He's a pro! Also, be sure to go to Animal Academy today. Check out Sorcerer's Workshop, it's great! The Beast's Library is cool.
Psychguy wins MW Reunion Buzz Lightyear meetup trophy Sunday night at DL. Huge turnout. There is a MW Buzz meetup every weekend. Buzz hat is the new trophy.
Mousewait Top 10! Coaster, Dave, BCC, etc.
It's also Bat/Goth day at DL! Wow!
