Wanted to ask you about the water parks...my kids are 6 & 9 and are very good swimmers, but do you think they're still too young to enjoy everything there? Would it be better to wait until they're older? If not, which one is better for kids that age? Thank you!!
They would love it! - Betsyboo  20.1 #154 8:57AM
They'd love it! We've taken kids that young. Both parks have a small section in the back for kids, but they can also enjoy other parts of the park. We prefer Typhoon Lagoon! - DizneyGirl  642.5 #7 4:18AM
Ok thanks so much! - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 7:10AM
We've been to both water parks..I think Typhoon Lagoon was better and had a better and bigger kids section. - DizneyGirl  642.5 #7 1:18PM
That's so helpful, thanks! I don't know anything about them. - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 3:04PM
I personally prefer typhoon lagoon, probably because I am from MinneSNOWta, and I get too much winter! I am sure you get similar activities at both. I also thought I liked the shark reef snorkeling at TL but discovered that was not my thing. - Betsyboo  20.1 #154 11:47PM
Haha it doesn't snow where I live but I see your point! πŸ˜‰ - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 8:26AM
MinnieMousewife, the "typhoon" itself. The huge wave that wipes you out is massive, and scary. - PixieDust76  80.6 #69 9:28AM
I understand if you are a none swimmer that a wave pool may be scary but there it's lots to do besides the wave pool. My 7 year old gs loved it. - rink2  80.6 #70 9:39AM
Oh ok thanks, we'll skip that part!! - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 10:11AM
If your kids are good swimmers I bet they will love the waves! - rink2  80.6 #70 10:16AM
FYI, when we were there they sounded a Loud horn before they started the big waves. My 6 year old and I had no trouble. We, of course, had a life jacket on her. - DizneyGirl  642.5 #7 10:59AM
Thanks so much for the info rink2 and DizneyGirl...my kids are strong swimmers and of course I'll be watching them closely! 😊😊 - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 11:45AM

Good morning! I wanted to ask about the Boardwalk...I've read completely mixed reviews about this resort. Some say that the rooms are super old and run down, and other people seem to love it. We really love being able to walk to Epcot but the Beach Club (which we really liked) is booked already. Can't decide if I should change dates or go w/the Boardwalk. Thoughts?!? Thank you!! 😊😊
I can't imagine any of the deluxe resorts being bad... Β we stayed at WL and AKL this past week, and I wasn't too impressed with the beds (they weren't that comfortable - I expected more I guess), but the resorts themselves, their locations, their themes, WL's transportation options, etc. are just outstanding. Β You just can't beat staying deluxe - a real treat no matter which one you choose! Β When we stayed at All-Star Movies in 2011, that was the first time we stayed somewhere on property where I thought the room itself felt old and run down (and even a little dirty) - the grounds are super fun there, though! Β All of the moderate/deluxe resorts I've stayed in since then, as well as Pop Century have felt clean, kept up and totally nice. I haven't had the opportunity to stay at Boardwalk yet, but I would like to some day. If it were me, I'd try it. I like experiencing new things at Disney and forming my own opinion. :) - mrsincredible  870.2 #5 10:30AM
Thank you! That's a good point...we don't get out to WDW that often so somewhere new could be fun. 😊 - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 12:18PM
Never stayed there but walked over many times from Beach Club to shop in there gift shop. Seems really nice. Have to agree with mrsi. - disneycm  569.5 #9 10:44AM

We stayed I a 1 bdrm and the grand villa which was AWESOME !!! The 1 bd was a little smaller than some other DVC resorts but I don't have 1 negative thing to say, when we went it was with my brother and SIL , thier 3 kids and my mother , that's when we stayed in the grand villa , the kids loved the resort and my mom said she would have been happy sitting on the massive balcony all day . I would highly recommend staying :) - tracsant  955.9 #2 11:37AM

Question about Spring Break crowds...our Spring Break is the week before Easter, so we'd be at WDW that whole week before, then on Easter as our last day. A lot of the WDW travel sites/blogs say crowds will be terrible and so crowded then!! Is that the case in your opinion? Our alternative would be to go the 2nd week of June. Would appreciate any feedback, thanks as always!!
we did Spring Break once in 2012 (week before Easter, same as you) and we will NEVER do it again! The crowd calendars are correct.....it is terribly crowded!!! - ncjal  210.7 #34 2:05PM
Thank you for the info, we'll go some other time!! 😊 - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 8:28PM

Good morning! We loved WDW so much that we're thinking of going back next June, truly such a magical vacation!! My question is about the Grand. I believe that's the last monorail stop to the MK...is it crowded? Is there usually a long wait in the mornings to get to the MK on the monorail? Is the boat a better option? Thanks!!
It can sometimes get a little crowded , nothing crazy because the monorail comes often so you aren't waiting more than maybe 5 or 10 mins, the boat is nice but you will first stop at the Poly then MK and that can take a while so if you want to be quick do the monorail , we rarely do the boat - tracsant  955.9 #2 10:39AM
Thanks so much, really appreciate your help! - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 1:38PM
Thanks for this! I just figured the boat went right from GF to MK. What is the quickest way to get there before rope drop? - kayxobelle  209.0 #35 1:59PM
Monorail will be the quickest for rope drop but that will be the busiest time to wait - tracsant  955.9 #2 4:25PM
Tracy is right! The monorail is still the quickest option even if it's crowded...the boat u have to try at least once tho at some point....very pretty, relaxing little ride..nice at night too - mickeynme  155.5 #50 10:53AM
The boat sounds fun to do maybe when we're not in a hurry to get there, thanks! - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 1:39PM
We enjoyed taking the boat back to the GF in the evening, especially while the water pageant was going through. We always took the monorail in the morning. - PixieDust76  80.6 #69 3:42PM

Really hoping for some help w/Star Wars Weekends!! 1. To meet Chewbacca, I think we go to 'Meet Members of the Rebel Alliance' near Star Tours? Is he there the whole time or do characters rotate?? How long would I expect to wait in line first thing in the morning? 2. Are there lots of viewing spots for the 'Legends of the Force Motorcade' parade...or do you have to wait a long time for a decen  More...
Apparently the motorcade goes to the stage, as in previous years, down Hollywood Blvd. Then it goes again after the stage photo op. As far as Chewie, its a rotation of characters. In years past they've had him out, then ewoks, then him again. Best thing to do is ask a character attendant when he'll be out. - IndyandMarion  1240.7 #1 4:58PM

I'm not sure what FP+ to get for our 2nd day at Epcot, would love any help!! We can choose 2 from Nemo, Spaceship Earth, Maelstrom, Gran Fiesta. Thoughts?? If we get to the Workd Showcase right when it opens at 11, do we need FP+ for the boat rides...or will standby still be ok? Thanks, I'm really confusing myself for some reason with these!! πŸŒ€πŸŒ€πŸŒ€πŸŒ€
Most of those have low wait times with Spaceship Earth and Malestrom having a little bit longer at certain times. Like you said you shouldn't have to wait just after world showcase opens. At Epcot you really only need FP+ for Soarin, Test Track, and Mission Space :) - Andrea84  642.2 #8 12:56PM
^ this, when we were there in August Maelstrom at the most was a 20 minute wait. But thanx to them deciding it needed an FP line. I have heard the wait times for stand-by have gone up. - Lelundrial  468.5 #392 1:11PM

I was trying to get a FP+ for the MSEP and it's not showing as an option even. Have they stopped offering FP+ for this? I called and they just said that they may add it later, is this normal that it wouldn't be listed as an option? I'm confused, thanks!!
I have seen that the parade and show FP+ are not always available at the 60 day mark. Possibly check a few weeks before your trip and also use the web version as it's a little easier to book rather than the app and sometimes things show unavailable in the app but you can find a time on the web version. Good luck and if anything the later parade is less crowded or Liberty Square is less crowded than Main Street on the parade route and you can find a good spot 15-20 minutes before it starts! - Andrea84  642.2 #8 10:33AM
Oh thank you, I was using my phone...maybe that was the problem too. Any particular spot in Liberty Square that you recommend? 😊😊 - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 10:35AM

Is it possible to load Disney gift cards onto a Magic Band and have in park purchases charge against those...before a credit card? Then if the gift cards run out, have a credit card also? Thank you!
At check in just give them all of your gift cards and it acts as a credit on your total room charges and you will already have a credit card on file. You can charge everything to your room via magic band and you use a 4 digit PIN number you select online for store purchases. Your total charges will be charged the night before check out and everything over your gift cards will be charged to the credit cards. So yes! - Andrea84  642.2 #8 7:50PM

Thanks for the info! I'm going to try to call with the numbers ahead of time so I don't have to bring them. - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 8:41PM
You can't use the gift cards on the magicbands. Just charge everything to the card that's on file, through the band. Then, the night before you check out, give them the gift cards to pay the balance off. Or each night. I don't think they will hold gift cards before they have been used. I wouldn't trust them anyway. What if something happened. You dont want to hassle proving how many cards you gave the front desk - wickedale  328.3 #661 1:08AM
They swipe them when you check in and give you a receipt saying you have a $500 credit on your account and you also get a listing of every gift card # so there is no problem at all. I do this every time and it works great! - Andrea84  642.2 #8 3:43AM

Let me get the times for you from a better site. Question however, are you wanting her in her "village" or "ballroom" gown? - IndyandMarion  1240.7 #1 4:00AM

When I go to make FP+ reservations in advance...can I make the times less than 1 hour apart? Meaning could I get a Buzz one for 7 and then Space at 7:30, or would Space have to be 8 or later? Thanks for the help!!
It will give you a message about conflicting times. Then it won't let you complete the reservation. - Lelundrial  468.5 #392 8:21PM
Unless things have changed, no. The system automatically spaced my FP+ out by 1 hour. But, I would typically do one at the end of the window and the next at the beginning of its window. Then I would have a break before the end of my third window. It worked out well for me! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  884.5 #3 8:23PM
Oh it will also take into account any dining reservations you have. So if any FP time comes close, it will tell you about conflicting times. - Lelundrial  468.5 #392 8:25PM
Bummer, but thanks for letting me know!! - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 8:47PM

Do the parks offer a rider switch pass even if everyone is tall enough to ride the attraction? My son (5 years old) is tall enough for Tower of Terror but doesn't want to go on it. So I was hoping my husband and I could switch off and both ride with our older child. Would that work with a switch pass? Thanks!!
Yes - timonT  262.8 #24 1:18PM
Yep, my "Unofficial Guide" says yes too! - ColoradoSoprano  39.0 #4740 2:25PM
Keep in mind that some RSs are done differently. Some have you do it outside the attraction, others inside. Let them know at the entrance. - IndyandMarion  1240.7 #1 3:07PM
Thanks so much everyone!! 😊 - MinnieMousewife  752.1 #208 6:03PM
