My husband and I enjoy our road trips to Disneyland with our children! I was lucky enough to visit the parks often as a child, and I feel blessed to be able to take my children. I love seeing the parks through their eyes.

Ugh! Our very first trip is being threatened by hurricane Matthew. We planned to leave Texas Friday. We'd stay near Destin and head into Orlando Saturday morning. We're monitoring the weather and have to make a decision quickly. Any thoughts from anyone 😩
Are you driving? If so, I'd say still leave on schedule and maybe plan on staying in Destin an extra day or two. I don't know how flexible your schedules are, but if you could extend your trip a couple of days. I know not everyone can do that. - DizneyGirl  1565.4 #5 9:38AM
Yes, it's a road trip for us. We don't have a lot of flexibility, because of my husband's work schedule.  I'm glued to the weather channel right now and it looks like the brunt of it will be Thursday into Friday tapering off Saturday. I pray for folks not to get hurt. I'm so uncertain of what to do. The extra day in Destin may be a consideration, thank you! - BibbidiBobbidiBoo  128.2 #3259 9:43AM
I'm not tracking it real closely, but from what I've seen it looks like it should be passed the Disney area by Sunday. So you could drive down on Sunday morning? And if you're already in Florida, and things don't Advance as predicted, or it passes through earlier than planned, you could head down Saturday. - DizneyGirl  1565.4 #5 10:01AM
I'm so sorry you have toThink about this rightNow. I think I would still leave on time. I have been in Disney during a hurricane and they are on top ofThings. They really takeCare of you. I would look into the Disney boards for updated info.  - mmddgp  1961.9 #3 10:14AM
AlsoIf youThink you are going to be a day late call them soThey canTake that off yourCharge.  - mmddgp  1961.9 #3 10:17AM
Travel agent and a friend of mine, who lived in Florida for a while are telling me to go on time too. They both feel like the parks may be less crowded and that everything should be okay. We'll continue to watch. Thank you for your thoughts!  - BibbidiBobbidiBoo  128.2 #3259 10:28AM
We were there during a hurricane a few years back, not as strong as this one but still. When we were there they did close the parks a day and the hotel staff was reduced to bare minimum. They stocked the gift shop with stro coolers you could buy to put food in, gave youSuggestions on what to have in room, just in case. Played movies on the tvs in rooms round the clock. Despite the threat we had a great adventure and we felt safe.  - mmddgp  1961.9 #3 11:30AM
Regrettably, we canceled. Instead, we are headed to Disneyland. I hope to try again sometime very soon.  - BibbidiBobbidiBoo  128.2 #3259 4:25PM
The news just seemed to get worse and worse as the day went on 😪 - BibbidiBobbidiBoo  128.2 #3259 4:26PM
Aww I am so sorry. Just need to start planning again.  - mmddgp  1961.9 #3 4:55PM
Safest bet! Some areas are told to evacuate so some gas stations are empty. People are panicking so their driving to the grocery store for that last loaf of bread is down right scary! - justGoofin  166.3 #57 5:17PM
We are here now, Thursday and Friday seem to be the threat, after that looks good.  - TheDad  127.0 #68 4:33PM
Our phones keep sounding the alert for Hurricane warnings, locals say we are fine! - TheDad  127.0 #68 4:43PM
When do youLeave to comeHome. How is everything going - mmddgp  1961.9 #3 4:56PM
We leave Saturday, we should be fine.   - TheDad  127.0 #68 5:21PM
Yes just was watching the local news there. Saying tomorrow night into Friday morning is the worst of it. Hope your having a great time - mmddgp  1961.9 #3 5:40PM

Help! I used the reservation tracker on touring plans and was able to secure a reservation for dinner at Cinderella's Royal table. The reservation is at 8:20pm the night of the Halloween party we plan to attend. What do you all think? Keep the reservation or cancel ... it'll impede on party time, but it may be an outstanding experience worth going to. Thoughts? Thank you.
I personally never book Any reservations during the party because time is limited and there's so much to do. Plus you're paying like an extra $85 per person for your party tickets. By time you're done with dinner you are losing an hour and a half at least of party time. If your reservations are at 8:20 you're missing the first parade and cutting it close on seeing HalloWishes too. HalloWishes starts at 10:15. - disneygrandma1  2186.5 #2 12:42PM
My thought is cancel. You might be able to go earlier or another day if you keep checking back. I'd want to enjoy every minute of the party. And like Heather said, the timing isn't great for the activities like the parade and such. - DizneyGirl  1565.4 #5 12:50PM
Cancel. You don't want to miss any of the Halloween party.  - jbzdogz  37.2 #134 6:58PM
Thank you all for your guidance. It's our first visit, and I think I'm trying to cram too much stuff into it. We only have four full days as this was a last minute planned trip.  We've been blessed to visit Disneyland many times. We thought we'd head east this time  - BibbidiBobbidiBoo  128.2 #3259 1:08AM
That is so easy to do! Wanting to do it all is normal! I actually did that last December for christmas at Disney. We went dec 12-19. It was 7 days but then we had to squeeze universal in there also. I loved every minute of it. I have never had the chance to eat in the castle but have always wanted to so understand you wanting to cram it in but you would honestly be missing prime time in the park for the party. I truly hope you get to do it another time.  - mmddgp  1961.9 #3 5:17AM

Photo pass or not to photo pass that is the question? We will be visiting for the first time. We'll have 4-full days and half. We'll also be attending a Halloween party one of those evenings. Is it worth the expense? Thank you in advance for your thoughts.
Tough to say. All Photopass photographers will take pictures on your camera too. But I have loved having the PP on my AP. The pro pics are much better, especially the night shots. Does your family enjoy the character meet ups? How much is the mark up if you wait until after your trip? Maybe you just buy a few pics, rather than all of them?  - JenGwen323  2299.5 #84 6:50AM

Do you have the WDW ANNUAL PASS??? If yes. The new pass option got the photopass downlod available... - otilegna  2864.4 #60 7:52AM
First time at dw?! I say go for it!!! Some of the magic shots and ride shots are worth it just by them selves - mmddgp  1961.9 #3 3:34PM
I was glad to have it on my solo trip. I got almost 900 pictures in 2 weeks! A lot were from character meet and greets though. If you're going to do many of those it is worth it. Be sure to tell the photographers if you have it. - teaching76  74.6 #0 5:22PM

Good morning! We just booked a 5-night stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We purchased 5-day park hoppers and tickets to the Halloween party. This will be our first visit to WDW. We have been to Disneyland quite a few times and have finally got the ball rolling. I purchased access to touring plans and have ordered a book. I'm finding WDW to be overwhelming. Are there any suggestions from pros out t  More...
There are quite a few character dinning options.  If you're a Winne the Pooh fan then you'll want Crystal Palace in the MK.  For princesses the favorite is Akurshus in EP.  Disney Junior characters like Hollywood & Vine at HS.  For the fab five, I hear Garden Grill at EP and O'hana at the Polynesian resort a popular. - GoofyMom77  1162.9 #191 9:34AM
For Cinderella, specifically, try Cinderella's Royal Table at MK or 1900 Park Fair at the Grand Floridian.  At 1900, the Step Sisters make appearances and are very entertaining. - GoofyMom77  1162.9 #191 9:36AM
We always book late evening reservations for dinner. We normally eat between 7-8 which is after 10 in FL. That way we also maximize park time. - jacdanfan  15565.2 #5 12:30PM
Akurshaus is a good place to see princesses. Garden grill has family style all you can eat meals with characters. The restaurant also slowly turns so you can see into the living with the land ride. Those are some of our favorite character meals. - alfrulz  19.8 #178 9:52AM
All the character dining experiences are wonderful. It does depend on what characters you enjoy the most. My favorite was Ohana because the character spent a lot of time with each table, they dressed in cute outfits, and I really enjoyed the parade, which they include the kids in. - DizneyGirl  1565.4 #5 11:20AM

Just visited Disneyland for a few days. We had such a wonderful time. The highlight of our trip was the Mystical Spirits @ the Blue Bayou dinner package. It was a wonderful treat! We are planning to visit Disneyworld for the first time in early June. I'll be leaning on a lot of you all for advice, thanks in advance.
looks interesting. How fun to have a DW trip for June. Ask away when ready! - mmddgp  1961.9 #3 9:23AM
I appreciate it! I know very little about Disneyworld and honestly I'm intimidated with its size. However, I'm also very very excited!!!  - BibbidiBobbidiBoo  128.2 #3259 10:05AM
You should be excited! It is amazing. I can't wait to see DL one day also! - mmddgp  1961.9 #3 4:20PM
This looks so cool ! What exactly did it include ? Is it just a seasonal thing ? And yay for your first WDW trip, you'll love it - tracsant  1599.6 #4 10:38AM
It included an appetizer, dinner, dessert, and pomegranate lemonade with glow cubes. It was hosted by Dr. Facilier and the Bayou Belles. The Cadaver Dans and silly pirates also provided entertainment. We were given a button, beads, special edition lithograph, bags of candy and reserved seating to the fireworks. It was a real treat! It's only available during MNSSHP. I'm really looking forward to Disneyworld!  - BibbidiBobbidiBoo  128.2 #3259 11:12AM
That looks like a an awesome experience! I hope you have a magical time at WDW! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1479.6 #6 10:37PM

Just returned from a week long Disneyland trip. We're in the beginning of the planning stages of a 2012 Disneyworld trip. We've never been there, so I'll be looking at the app for some help!
Welcome to the WDW MW side. Glad to have you here. Don't be afraid to ask questions. That's why we're here! - cyniminnie  48.3 #117 5:20PM
I would look into the dining plan. it is worth it and a lot of good places to eat. - mejump  3.5 #811 5:28PM
I took my kids out of school to go. O know not everyone wants to do that, but it's much less crowded. - ally  509.0 #19 7:44PM
As a former teacher, I too took kids out of school in January. When o was teaching I had many students go to WDW during school time. - mzdisnee  575.6 #15 8:00PM
