Mine would be, when my friends pulled a prank on me.....my friends made me to believe that Maelstrom was an amazing ride and was THE BEST ride they went on, the hidden gem that no one ever goes on...prior to that day, ive been to WDW twice but never went on Maelstrom....so for 8 months they talked this attraction so high to the point that I was so excited to go on it, it's all we talked about, if Maelstrom was uttered out of our mouths we would all get wide eyed and whisper "Maelstrom"....we finally get to WDW and i cannot WAIT for this ride....we get into EPCOT and we go straight there, i wont go on anything else but Maelstrom first! they got pictures of my (ecstatic) face when we got on the ride, my excitement, my anticipation.....and then my reaction when I realized it was over, the confusion on my face....needless to say....they give me a hard time about that one....how they were able to successfully fool me for 8 months, and how I was to excited to go on Maelstrom...

I havent been on it for a few years, but I was disappointed....it wasn't dark at all and felt too much like the Matterhorn....But I don't know if they made changes since I was there last time

It still stands as a classic, but. My long legs give me trouble getting in and out of the vehicles and it's sorta rough in some places. DL's, from what I remember in 2009, was much smoother. - IndyandMarion

3.5. It'd be higher but the key element to the attraction doesn't work and hasn't worked in years. It's very anti climatic compared to when the Yeti used to work and swing his arm toward the vehicle. A giant build up of the creature and then a strobe light to cover up that he doesn't move. - IndyandMarion
