Hi all! Which moderate resort do you prefer Port Orleans Riverside or Caribbean Beach?
I've had the pleasure of staying at both. While they are both nice, my favorite was Port Orleans Riverside. CBR is the largest resort on property, so there's a lot of walking involved. The grounds at POR are beautiful! - mrsincredible  921.3 #5 10:23AM
Thank you for your input. I have stayed at Caribbean Beach, but it was years ago. You read my mind stating there is a lot of walking at that resort. POR looks beautiful. I have a 5 year old son, do you think he would like it there? We have always stayed at POP, he loves it there. Thought we would try something new our next trip. - sjmommy  4.3 #508 10:41AM
We stayed there in Dec 2012 with my niece and then 5yo son. We stayed in a Royal Room, and they both loved it! There are fireworks in the headboard. And, little gifts from the Princes and Princesses to Princess Tiana all over the room. We would definitely stay there again, but probably won't stay at CBR again. - mrsincredible  921.3 #5 10:48AM
That sounds like fun! Fireworks in the headboard sounds so cool! My son would love that. I've seen pics and videos of POR and it looks wonderful. If we do decide to go moderate, I am leaning towards POR. Thanks again! - sjmommy  4.3 #508 11:01AM
Caribbean. I love the tropical atmosphere and beaches. If you request preferred, near preferred, or a building right next to the bridge, walking really isn't bad. They also have a great pool and a kids pirate ship splash area. - PixieDust76  93.4 #67 10:38AM
Thank you! I do love Caribbean and the tropical aspect. So hard to choose! - sjmommy  4.3 #508 10:46AM
I didn't care for Caribbean Beach when I stayed there on my first visit (1998). I love POFQ, but have never stayed at Riverside. I always found it to be full of loud Guests, not as peaceful as POFQ. The bus service at POFQ is better too (the two resorts share buses, but POFQ is always the first stop). - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  932.5 #3 7:04PM
We stayed at Riverside our first trip and really liked it!! The only thing that may be disappointing is the pool area if that's important to you or if you have kids. It was fine for us because we had a baby and a 3 y/o...but I think older kids would have been a little underwhelmed. - MinnieMousewife  771.1 #206 7:37PM

Here are a few pictures from our trip we took May 9th- May14. It was SO hot but we didn't let that stop us from having the best time EVER! Missing Disney World so much. Six days just wasn't enough but grateful we were able to go.
No matter how long you go it's never enough. Lol. Glad you had a great time. N - 5disneylovers  925.9 #4 7:35PM

My son broke his arm today. Just in time for vacation :( We leave in 30 least the cast is waterproof, he can still go swimming :)
Yikes! What timing huh? Feel better soon little man and have a great vacation - missmimi90  1539.6 #87 3:45PM
Horrible timing but what can you do. There are plenty distractions to keep it off his mind, I hope. - sjmommy  4.3 #508 3:55PM
Sounds like my youngest, Jake! Hope it doesn't bother him on vacay. Safe travels! - mrsincredible  921.3 #5 3:48PM
Hoping it doesn't bother him too. I'm worried about the hot weather making for a hot cast. Fingers crossed it doesn't become unbearable for him. - sjmommy  4.3 #508 3:53PM
Trying to find silver lining- better now than in 29hrs! - timonT  276.2 #24 6:22PM

Oh 3 days we will be at Disney World! This is a picture of my son Gavin in 2012 riding the Disney World train for the first time (well, from what he remembers. He was actually a year old the first time, but he doesn't believe me) He is now 5. This will be our first stop when we get to Magic Kingdom :)
How cute! You are going to have a wonderful time. Where are you staying? Did you book any dinning ? Don't forget to see the new parade it is amazing - mmddgp  468.5 #15 11:32AM
We are staying at POP for 6 days and doing the quick service dining plan, but making an exception on Mother's Day and having dinner at Ohana for the first time. Can't wait! We are SO excited to see the new parade! It looks very cool! - sjmommy  4.3 #508 11:43AM
