Even if you add charging priveliges to your band your credit card info is not actually on the band. It's just linking information on disneys end that links the bands to the room. The charges go to your resort reservation. Then it's charged from the hotel to your card. So it should be pretty safe.
WOW did not think of the RF signals being picked up by the readers. Was not really thinking about that. We are going in July and will have to see how that works out. - Pooh147856  214.1 #37 7:36AM
What information on the band are you afraid someone is going to get? You don't have to attach a credit card to the bands. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  934.9 #3 7:38AM
You could use a band and Tom a card. - DizneyGirl  670.7 #7 8:57AM

Think of this as an added perk. Use fp+ how it currently works and select passes that best fit in your plans. If then you can use additional passes great if not it's no great big loss. Shouldn't really effect people with a good touring plan much at all
Sounds like you can add 1 FP after you've used up your first 3. Then after that 1 is used you can add another. Sounds like after the first 3 are used you can park hop and use those FPs at different parks. - DizneyGirl  670.7 #7 4:57PM
But what if u don't park hop. - yessy  203.4 #38 5:00PM
It sounds like the FP after the initial 3 can be at any Park, I'm assuming even the one you are already at. - DizneyGirl  670.7 #7 5:02PM
Good grief that sounds complicated. - mrsincredible  922.3 #5 6:56PM
its not complicated at all. its pretty simple its the wording that makes it sound strange. After you use your three you can keep getting more fast passes for the same park after your done with that fast pass or if your park hoping after your done with your 3 for the day and decide you want to head to epcot you can add one for test track, then after your done with test track you could add another one for soarin and so on and so on. its much better since your not limited to just three a day in any park - Dave   11842.3 #2 12:21PM
I like to think of myself as pretty positive and always welcoming change... and, I honestly don't mind the new FP system. I had no issues planning the 3 per day from home, and it was super nice knowing the FPs were already secured when we got to the parks each day; we didn't have to rush anywhere this trip! But, trying to make changes from inside the parks on MDE was an epic fail. And, when I was able to make selections this past trip, all the good rides, parade and firework FP's were gone... even as early as 9am. It was a little disappointing. Seems like this change just adds another layer of unnecessary complexity. 😳 - mrsincredible  922.3 #5 6:59PM
interesting, I was wondering how this is going to play out when I'm there in a few weeks. kinda hoping that it wont be that bad but was thinking if after my 3 are done early in the AM it might be impossible to get anything decent in the afternoon or evening esp on the weekends - Dave   11842.3 #2 12:24PM
I also try not be negative...but...I had a similar experience as Mrs. I. When FP plans needed to be changed later in the day there were hardly any options. The options usually available were for attractions where a FP is not even needed. The lines at the kiosks were ridiculous! Fortunately I was able to make my changes using my phone and did not have to wait in any lines. With that being said, unless there are going to be more slots/times available (than what I witnessed in October and March) after you have used your 3 FP's I see no need in waiting in a long line to get a FP for It's a Small World or Figment or something like that. - leveretttltl  39.1 #106 6:40AM
You can't use the app to add the additional one after you use the 3. You have to use a kiosk. I have seen on the WDW FB page, AP holders saying they hate the new system. I also cannot understand why they added an FP line to rides that did not need them at all. When we went in August the longest we waited for Figment was 10 minutes. That ride definitely did not need a FP line. - Lelundrial  478.2 #387 8:09AM
Totally agree! Don't really need a FP to Hall of Presidents, lol! Kidding, I know you can't get a FP for that show, I was just teasing... but you know what I mean! - mrsincredible  922.3 #5 11:26AM
If the planning expert has some problems with FP+ then I'm not very hopeful it will work for me!! I was going to try to get my FP for the mid day & afternoon if possible. Because that is usually the busiest time , right ? But if I have to use all 3 first.....,😜 I have been sceptical from the start with this. You shouldn't try to fix what ain't broke. I got a rude agent on the phone when I made my resort ressies when I said that I didn't think I would like only 3 FP a day. I usually get 6 or 7 and he practically called me a liar. - lghr  47.2 #98 7:47PM
I really enjoyed having the 3 I started with each day... that preplanning part of the new system before we left worked well for me! I was just a little disappointed with it once I got there and needed to make changes. - mrsincredible  922.3 #5 8:03PM

We took a cab it was about 26 each way through mears. With 4 of us that made sense cost wise
I don't think it will be all that crowded. When we went to Universal, two of us got a cab. I think it was $17 each way plus tip. Welcome to the FLip side! - ally  509.2 #11 10:11PM
I'm heading to WDW on Thursday!! First time ever. When I called about a cab, it was about $32-$37 each way, not including tip. For just me, $80 is too much. Mears Transportation is $19 a person, round trip! And they run all day and night (mostly). Just depends on how many of you there are - wickedale  341.9 #621 12:00AM
Why is it when I tried to book through mears I got $54 one way? I am going to have to check that out again. - Lelundrial  478.2 #387 8:32AM

It's important to know though that they have recently decreased the number of paper fastpasses, so they are going more quickly. Also the plan is to eventually discontinue them, so while with a card style ticket you can now use them with magic bands that may change at any time.
You can still use the old fast passes also. We are not planners to the minuet either but it was nice to not have to run in the park to get your first fp for the must do popular ride. You also can only choose the 3 in the same park. We chose fp+ for three of the days, one day we used all three one day we used only one ant he other none because we went early and could walk on all the rides so didn't use it. Happy planning - mmddgp  470.8 #15 3:00AM
Thank you!! :0) - modisneyluv  14.9 #186 10:50PM
If you value your time so much and really dont care/not curious to see the queue area, get a fastpass+ to a very popular ride (Soarin, Test Track, to name a few). It will save u a lot of time and you can enjoy more of the stuff at the parks. Last Minute planning for fastpass+ is available (if u get lucky). Im able to use it during my weekend trip... Time was a factor to me then, so i try to avoid waiting for so long... Also, paper fastpass do ran oout quick! (Test Track is my example,i boarded the ride during opening hour,9:00am , walk-on 10mins (designing car not included in that time). Board the ride and finished it off. Once i get out of the bulding, fastpass availability is for 8pm. Standby lines was 45mins... And the time then was 9:30am!!!)....... Just Have fun at the parks - otilegna  1842.7 #71 4:35PM
The disney website is having problems with fast pass+ right now. The only thing that I am worries about is that we are meeting a friend there so we probably won't be able to get fast passes together. Hopefully they will get the site fixed quick There are certain rides that I would like to get fast passes for because I do not want to stand in line for two hours for toy story mania :). I only have eight days....I'm so excited !!!!!! - modisneyluv  14.9 #186 5:33PM

I agree not pushy at all. We have bought twice now with 2 different dvc reps and both were helpful and not overly "sales-y" they laid out what the deal was, what our options were and then gave us plenty of time to talk and think about it. The first time we actually walked away. And ended up calling him back and signing paperwork. I would recommend going and talking to them if you are concidering s  More...
Totally not true at all. I found DVC to be very helpful and not at all pushy. If you need any info let me know as I became DVC tens years ago and find it worth every penny. - Pooh147856  214.1 #37 12:26PM

They are not pushy at all because DVC pretty much sells it's self if it's right for your family. You can call them and they can give you all the pricing and info over the phone and even mail your docs to sign by mail if you decide to join. If you join before your next trip you don't have to pay for another visit, you can use your points right after you close on everything. - Andrea84  653.3 #8 1:29PM

The Harry potter area of universal is TINY. You can totally do it in a half day. I would recommend arriving early so you don't wait in line for forbidden journey forever. Use mears for transport, even if you take a cab. They were the most accurate fares from their online estimator
We did it the past 2 years... The first year we took the Mears shuttle, it worked out just fine for the two of us but it was pricey. Last year we took at cab because there was 4 of us, it was a lot faster and saved us about $40 maybe more. Just get there around when the park opens... If you are just doing one of the parks, not 2, you will have plenty of time! In fact we just walked around for a few hours looking for things to do just to justify the money we spent. HP world is awesome, the ride is awesome and the butter beer is amazing. We are skipping it this year because next year they are opening the 2nd half in the other park. But if you haven't been it's a good experience. - rlpologal89  9.8 #240 11:53AM
I've heard there is a bus you can catch.. Not sure the exact details. I just remember last time I was there in 09 my husband was considering it for a day. I think the park you can def do in time since it isn't too big... But again, I don't know for sure since never been. Just kinda remember people saying that. - brodysmommy  371.5 #548 11:54AM

We went last June and it does get busier the further into June. I used Touring Plans for our September 2012 trip and was disappointed, found their predictions were pretty off. You can get more frequent service with dvc, but it costs extra. Yes the in suite washer dryer is super nice as well. We are not getting a 1br this trip for the first time in a while and I am going to miss having the ability to do laundry.
All DVC is the same. - Pooh147856  214.1 #37 9:15AM
Thanks! No washer in the studio room. :( - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 9:23AM
I think next time we will need to get a one bedroom, that comes with a washer, and dryer. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 9:24AM

I couldn't see its just me and the husband to get a one bedroom. So we just got the studio for 10 days. Ill only be washing Landry one day whiled at blt. Rest of the 11 days we move to the dolphin. Love their laundry mat. Its big. Yeah I read its like 30.00 for full service for studio room. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 10:09AM
Where do we throw our trash if it fills up? Lol. They pick up rubbish on the 8th day for stays that is longer. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 10:13AM
We always Try and get a 1 bdrm also even though its only my husband and myself most times , I love having a washer and dryer , I can do the clothes at my leasure and still leave and go to the parks , plus I'm always up a lot earlier than the hubs and don't bother him with the tv , I also like 2 bathrooms makes getting ready a lot quicker , as for the garbage they will let you know where you can throw it away - tracsant  1033.7 #2 10:40AM
@tracsant: ty! Our 2015 trip I need to make sure to get a one bedroom. I make a lot of rubbish, so its good to know lol. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 10:42AM
Yeah its good to have a washer and dryer. I hear on the 1st floor only 2 washing machine. Spoiled at the dolphin, they have a big laundry mat. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 10:45AM
Yeah it's a bummer when there are only a few machines and you have to wait around for the clothes to be done , also in a 1 bdrm I kinda feel like I'm really at home, especially when we are just hanging out either from rain or relaxing , it's nice to lounge on the couch and watch tv , I know it may seem like a waste but for us it's not and I hate having luggage and shopping bags all over a smaller rm , I just feel cluttered , I may be a slacker packer but I get serious anxiety with clutter and messiness , so it's nice to just spread out plus you get to feel what it would be like having an apt at WDW ;) - tracsant  1033.7 #2 11:28AM
I'll be sure to remember all that. The dolphin rooms are really big. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 11:49AM
Been debating if we should get a 1 bedroom for our trip. I like the washer and drier in room. I think that's what we will be getting. Hopefully will be open - TinkTinkTink  194.9 #40 12:50PM
To bad all the rooms don't come with a washer and dryer - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 1:42PM
When I stayed at OKW last year there was a garbage can right outside our building. We used that to through away any food waste so we didn't have to worry about bugs in the room. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  934.9 #3 1:43PM
I'll be sure to ask them about where to throw out the trash. Don't want the room to smell after a while. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 4:39PM
It's just the 2 of us and we do the 1br the extra space is so nice. We're spoiled. I'll be the first to admit, I would have never done it but one trip it was the only thing available when we wanted to go. We're ruined for all future studio vacations now. Every 4 days they will take out trash. I would assume you could call and let them know if you needed it more frequently. We've never tried but I have called for extra towels and gotten them with no problem. - Pixarprincess  539.4 #330 5:50PM
I have a waitlist reservation for a 1br for our October trip, but at this point I don't think we will get it. The studio will be more than fine. I'm just spoiled and want the extra room - Pixarprincess  539.4 #330 5:52PM
I know what you mean with extra room. Thats why I love it at the dolphin. U can fit 3 queen size beds in the dolphin rooms. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 6:01PM
My boyfriend booked a studio this year for us. I can't imagine not having the washer and dryer. I feel like its a waste of the vacation to sit and wait for the laundry to be done downstairs. We'll see how it goes... But I have a feeling I'll be dropping 1 BR hints during next years planning lol. - rlpologal89  9.8 #240 12:47PM
Don't drop hints. Say it loud. - 5disneylovers  927.1 #4 12:49PM
Maybe he took the studio because less points, and gives you more stay. But 1 bedroom more points, and less resort stay. Then you will need to move to another resort. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 12:57PM
How many days you will be staying? - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 1:00PM
We didn't get the one bedroom, since we hardly spend a lot of time in the room. Only us 2 so we are always out, and about. Only use the room to take a short nap, and at night to sleep. I will only be washing one day at the BLT. Rest I'll do when I get to the dolphin. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 1:06PM
I love the idea if a 1 BR, but at almost double the points of a studio, it's hard to justify! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  934.9 #3 1:42PM
Cdkg: yup that's true, double the points. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 2:36PM
Just the two of us for 7 nights. Yes, much more points! Although next year we are bringing the parents and siblings on both sides... So we will have to go for the 1 bedroom, maybe even 2! - rlpologal89  9.8 #240 5:24PM
For 10 days in blt cost us 150 points. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 5:34PM
It's 5 of us so we can do anything but 1 bedroom. We need the laundry machines. Lol - 5disneylovers  927.1 #4 12:51PM
Yeah it's harder when you have more then 4 people in the family. Studio will be way to tight lol. - islandgirl58  289.6 #21 1:02PM
