Good evening. Tonight was our hallmark club meeting and got a glimpse of what's inside the new books. Some exciting stuff. Can't wait for Christmas in July.

I know what ornament I'm going to try to get. It's so cute!! πŸ˜ƒ - Schramke  742.3 #13 9:14PM

Starwars from hallmark. These are pretty cool. They are 39.95 each but when connected to the power cord each ornament plays a scene from Star Wars an new hope. Add others for more dialog.

Something has been on my mind for a while but I was not sure how to tastefully ask my fellow MWers but I am dying to know: how do you find the best deals and cheapest way to be able to do Disney each year or more than once a year? I think I need more training on finding the good deals and being less picky with my resort, but it seems like a huge investment each time we book a trip and something al  More...

No way around it, Disney is expensive. There are so many hotels nearby. That's how I save. I stayed at a Value resort once, but don't see the need to do it again. Yes, staying at the Grand Floridian would be amazing, but I would never pay those prices. You can always visit it for free. I pick my splurges for the trip and scrimp elsewhere. Since I have to fly, I always check on Orbitz about making it a "package". Sometimes the hotels are super cheap that way.  - JenGwen323  2238.1 #86 11:41PM
We stay off site every other year. If we did not we could not go every year. The years we stay on site we make sure we do the free dining and go during value season. This means pulling our kids out of school, but I've come to terms with that and I'm quite alright with it. Staying in a condo saves us thousands of dollars because we eat there, and it's probably 10% to 30% of a moderate or Deluxe resort. We also drive down and we live in the midwest so it's a 24-hour total drive (each way). It cost us about $950 to drive down and back, but flights would be around $4,000 during the times we want to go. We do buy groceries and eat in our condo with just one meal in the park per day. We also opted not to do the park hopper pass, we're not big fans, as we feel you lose time as you're transported from one park to another, and it can save you quite a bit as well. - DizneyGirl  1545.9 #5 4:09PM

As Platinum Annual passholders in Florida, we pay installments every month which makes it more managable. Since the trips we plan already have the tickets "covered", that's one major expense already taken care of. That helps alot! Of course, with my older son in college, we can't go on as many Disney trips as we used to!  - Radio-Man  346.7 #27 12:00AM
My last trip I used the app Skiplagged to get super cheap room rate (I paid $240ish for five nights at a hotel with free shuttle to the parks, had free breakfast and was about a mile away from WDW). I keep an eye on JetBlue for cheap flights to pop up (paid $120 round trip from LA to Orlando). Also check google flights. Actual admission to the parks, there's no real way around it except occasional discount on x amount of days. Also, I basically paid for all the food etc while at WDW with gift cards I got with my 5% cash back credit card. - missmimi90  2079.9 #92 6:42PM

Hello everyone! I haven't been on in a very long time, it's good to be back. I have a question I was wondering if anyone on here can help me with. My family is insisting we go to dw around Christmas, 12/27 -1/1. I have heard horrible things about going that time of year, the crowds, lines etc. Am I right, are we going to miserable waiting in lines? I'm afraid it won't be as magical. I need anyone'  More...

Hello and welcome back! During those dates you'll find the parks are at max capacity, especially Magic Kingdom. If you don't get up and to the parks bright and early you will find they will be turning guests away due to being full.Β People do go during these dates, obviously, and still have a good time. If you decide to go during these dates, pack your patience and realize you will get to see and do a lot less. For me personally, I prefer the least crowded dates. There are crowd calendars online if you Google for them, you'll find several. If I remember correctly the second week in January would be significantly less crowded. - DizneyGirl  1545.9 #5 2:09PM
We will be traveling with 3 boys and a little girl, ages 6,7,8 and 9. - sjmommy  5.1 #436 2:01PM
I've gone this during week, but it was a few years back. If it had been my first time, I would have never gone back. Unbelievable crowds, a bunch of drunk people, unbelievable lines at the busses, and very tired and frustrated cast members. We like the week after Thanksgiving or the 2 weeks after New Years.  - DznylndFamily  46.1 #119 9:30PM

A month away from vacation. Can not wait. I am ready to start packing!!! We have decided to to do two resorts. Pop century for two nights and then most the trip at old key west.

Yay!!! Fun times ahead. We are doing two and have for the last few years. We are staying 5 nights at Disney pop century and 4 nights at cabana bay at universal.  - mmddgp  1917.6 #3 5:31AM
We stayed at night at cabana bay. Mainly cuz I wanted to go in the lazy river and extra hour at Harry Potter world lol. We were looking into one night there this Tripp but it was half of what we were going to pay for pop century for a week. We just decieded to use some dvc points we were going to save for old key west (that washer and drier in the room is a big deal for us lol). I'm so excited for this trip. New stuff. We are going to get our Disney fb page up soon for some live videos and a blog and instagram  - TinkTinkTink  302.7 #33 5:54AM
