Leaving for Orlando in 35 days and this will be our first time in Florida. I was hoping that I might ask a few questions. I bought 10 day passes and was wondering how the experienced Disney folks on Mousewait would use these days. I've heard how big Disneyworld is but don't really know how many days we should be spending at each park. The other question is, I've notice the two week forecast shows   More...

We have gone for 2 weeks the past 2 years and love being able to stay for so long.  Here's my suggestion for 10 days:  Animal Kingdom - 2 days (many will say it's a 1/2 day park, but there is so much to do here if you just take your time, especially with those 2 little cuties of yours!)  There are adventures you can do and earn badges, there's a great dig site to visit and several good shows, don't miss Festival of The Lion King!  Hollywood Studios - if you are going during a non busy time, in my opinion, 1 day is plenty, especially if you go from open til close, but you could take it at a slower pace and spend 2 days here.  EPCOT - is definitely a 2 day park, in fact, if you have 3 days,  I'd do that.  Epcot is like 2 parks in one, Future World and The World Showcase; I LOVE The World Showcase, it represents countries from around the world and each country has so much to offer, so don't rush through.  Buy the kiddos passports before entering The World Showcase and have each kidcot area stamp  and sign their passports, that makes it more fun for them, they can be purchased at most gift shops and are about $7 or $8 each.  EPCOT also has so many dining options, you need to eat a lot here!  Magic Kingdom is easily a 2 day park, IF you are going during a busy time, 3 days would be perfect.  Make sure to set up your FP+ for MK rides and HS rides.  If you have any specific questions, ask away.  Oh, and hit a water park, they are worth it, I think Typhoon Lagoon is the better water park.  You should also look into a special event, I'd recommend The Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage (look it up on Disney's website or allears.net)  You won't regret doing it!! Don't worry about the rain too much, go to the Dollar Store and buy ponchos (they are pricey in the parks) and be prepared for short showers (they don't last long and most likely won't happen every day), rain can clear out the parks some, but the true Disney warriors wear ponchos and carry on :). - DizneyGirl  602.5 #8 7:00AM
It looks like you'll be there during EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival, I haven't had the opportunity to attend this, but I highly recommend it from what I've read and other MWers that have been can tell you more! - DizneyGirl  602.5 #8 7:04AM
Great photo and welcome! You are going to love DW and you definitely have enough days! I would do 2 ak, 2studios, 3mk and 3 Epcot. How long will you be there? Any down days? Any dinning ressies? Are you only doing the parks or venturing off to water parks or Disney quest? There is so much great Dinning in the parks and at the hotels surrounding the parks. Bring ponchos, sunscreen and be prepared for it to still be warm during the day. Have a great time✨ - mmddgp  414.0 #16 7:40AM
If I had 10 days I would build in a rest and relaxation day :) I would do 2-3 days at Epcot (though my husband would rather have his gums scraped...I don't get it!), then 3 at MK because my little one LOVES MK, 2 at HS and 1 at AK. I may get kicked out of MW for saying this but we do not love AK like everyone else does. We think it is beautiful and we LOVE expedition Everest and the safari and that's about it. We just got back from WDW and didn't even actually go to AK! My little one likes the rides at WDW and AK only has 2 she can/will ride and one of them is just like Dumbo at MK...just our opinion...many people LOVE that park!! I haven't ever experienced the rain stopping many people lol most just throw on the ponchos and keep going! I hope you have a WONDERFUL time!! We had the most magical trip ever last week and I hope the same for you!!!! - brittandkell  372.9 #525 8:28AM
Rest and relaxation days at WDW are never overrated! 👊 - mrsincredible  809.1 #5 8:30AM
You are all amazing! Thank you so, so much. This information is extremely helpful. We have been laying in bed all morning looking at Disneyworld videos. You have all helped with the excitement in this house. We will be in Florida for 3 weeks and will be spending 2 weeks in Orlando and 1 week in Tampa. We are looking into a cell phone plan that let's us use our phone so we can use Mousewait while in the park. Thanks again for everything. The countdown is always the hardest part but seeing all the joy of Disney through all your eyes over the past year has really helped make the time fly by. Have a magical day everyone. - CanadianDisneyNuts  3.0 #35633 10:12AM

Last Sunday we got to go to MNSSHP as part of a Parks Blog meet-up which included the party and the new Villain's Soiree. The Soiree included a reserved viewing area in front of the castle, just behind the Partner's statue for the first parade and fireworks, which was a great benefit of not waiting for a good spot and you have a lot of room. I have a few days to add memory maker to my vacation package. We have never really used any photo package at Disney- we just took our own. Is it worth the price to add it? Thanks!!

Just depends really... it's a must for some and not so much for others. I haven't gotten it in the last several trips, but got it for my anniversary trip in a few weeks because I want to try and capture as many different types of pics of us together as possible (without having to carry my big camera with me all the time - only taking my iPhone with me to the parks this trip). Remember though, you don't have to buy the Memory Maker in order to take advantage of Photopass photographers and pic opps in the parks. They will take pics for you with your own camera (and theirs). Just keep in mind they aren't always 100% dependable (quality pic wise). - mrsincredible  809.1 #5 8:28AM
What a great idea for your anniversary trip!! We have very few whole family pics and even less pics of just the 2 of us!!! 💏 - brittandkell  372.9 #525 8:52AM
We did it this trip and my vote would DEFINITELY be YES!! We have VERY few pics with all of us in it and now we have a lot!! We were jumping in front of cameras everywhere! We LOVE the magic shots and ride photos etc! My husband counted last night and we have 149 pics (and a couple of videos) so we paid 1.00 a pic!! So worth it!!!!!! - brittandkell  372.9 #525 8:48AM
I have already warned Mr I we will be posing together A LOT. 😜 - mrsincredible  809.1 #5 9:34AM
I would say its worth it , definitely if you like the ride pics. The magic shots are great and you can add some great borders and stickers. We have about 300 pics and probably would have had more if my hubbie and son were less camera shy. I would have liked pics from character dining but this is no longer part of the deal. I think its worth the money. - rink2  77.0 #74 9:17AM

Hello all! My name is Randi and I'm an avid DL Mouse Waiter. For Christmas, my husband gave our family premier passports so we will be making our first trip to Disney World in October! Im excited and overwhelmed at the same time. We live in Seattle, so we aren't used to Florida weather. Any help/suggestions/advice is MUCH appreciated. We are staying at the Art of Animation and we will be in the pa  More...

Hi and welcome! I'm from England so the Florida weather is very different although I have to admit I love it ! I am a notorious non- planner although FP+ has changed that slightly. I am lucky to be able to visit at least once a year so I usually get to do the things I miss on one trip on the next! Even after so many visits though I have not seen or done everything WDW had to offer and of course there are always new attractions and experiences. I believe the maps are available on line both to order and to view. I would decide what things you really want to see/do and plan around those. Also depends on the crowds as to what you can fit in. If you want table service you maybe a bit late to make reservations, although there always seem to be walk ups to be had. I would get the My Dusney Experience app if you haven't all ready - invaluable for info and planning. Wifi is free in the parks and resorts. If you can, mickeys not so scary Halloween party is not to be missed! I have no doubt you will absolutely love it! Octobers almost here! Hope that helps - rink2  77.0 #74 12:11AM
Thanks for the suggestions! I did just download the app and its great! I'm used to rain so I'm actually hoping for some and maybe lighter crowds :) - randirella  305.7 #765 8:54AM
Hello, and welcome! We live in Olympia, and we are also going to DW in October. We will be staying at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Florida is hot, humid, and mostly sunny. Be sure to bring sun block, and stay hydrated. You can always walk into any quick meal service and get free ice water. (Saves allot from paying for bottled.) They do have occasional heavy downpours with thunder and lightening, so bring light ponchos from the Dollar Store. You can buy them at the parks, but they cost several dollars. Oct. weather cools down a little. Mid 60s to low 70s at night, and low 80s in the day is the average. (The locals think that the 60's are "freezing"!) ;) If you haven't yet, plan and reserve those dining reservations now! Many restaurants book very, very quickly. DW is huge. Don't try to do everything in one trip. Relax and enjoy the little things as well, like the cool birds and beautiful flowers that we don't have here. You can create your own customized Disney World maps at this website... http://customizedmaps.disney.go.com - PixieDust76  79.0 #69 1:33AM
Wow- you're from Seattle too?! We are on Mercer Island and are very fond of the rain. Great idea for the ponchos! I have no idea where the dollar stores are here but I'll grab some ponchos :) - randirella  305.7 #765 8:56AM
Thank you EVERYONE For all your help and feedback, I'm excited to visit. If anyone has any questions about Disneyland I'm happy to help :-) - randirella  305.7 #765 11:01AM

More MNSSHP...a few tips...get there early (they let you in at 4), eat before you come (we didn't and wished we had-most restaurants closed around 8 and we felt like it wasted some time), have a plan! Great advice!! It's almost impossible to do everything in one night. You definitely have to prioritize and pick and choose your must-sees. - mrsincredible  809.1 #5 5:57PM
I was surprised at how much there was to do!!! I knew what all was going to be available and just pictured us doing it all! My little one was WAY in to the trick or treating (I would've chosen the characters) and dinner took up some precious time lol It was awesome and so worth the money!!! - brittandkell  372.9 #525 6:24PM
I know!!  We have done it twice now, once in 2011 and once last year.  The first year we saw characters, the parade and fireworks, and last year we trick-or-treated, watched the parade and fireworks.  There is STILL stuff we haven't seen. Same with the Christmas party. - mrsincredible  809.1 #5 6:36PM
Love the advice!! - DizneyGirl  602.5 #8 5:58PM
All the times we did mnsshp we did MK earlier in the day. We took our costumes with us and put them in the locker until I was time to change. The parks didn't feel so busy during the day so we were able to do almost all the rides. We would stop for dinner @ 4-430. Then it was time to get on costumes. We didn't ride much at night except for HM and TM. We did get the map and made sure we did the special things. Stage shows, dance party, parade, fireworks and of course the trick or treating. - mmddgp  414.0 #16 6:53PM
Mr I and I will be doing our tour at MK the morning of a party night (not staying for the party). I really hope it's not busy for us. We are hoping to stay until around 5:00 with low crowds all day! 👊 - mrsincredible  809.1 #5 5:01AM

I thought we would be able to do everything as well, but there was just so much! The lines for the villain characters were pretty long, but we did get to see The Witch because she was standing next to 7DMT wall and I don't think a lot of people noticed her. My kids were really into the trick or treating. While we could have bought just as much candy at home, they had a lot of fun getting to trick or treat at Disney World. What's better than that? The parade was amazing, we saw the first parade and were able to find a spot. We watched the Villians stage show twice, because we liked it so much! The second show was much better, due to it being dark out by then. Celebrate the Magic was right after that, then Hallowishes! I would definitely encourage anyone to go to MNSSHP if they get the chance.. Totally worth it!! - kayxobelle  200.8 #35 5:59AM
I just had to laugh...mine LOVED trick or treating there! Do you know how much candy we could've bought at Target for the amt our tickets cost lol I just decided it was all about the experience of our family being dressed up and trick or treating at the magic kingdom!! - brittandkell  372.9 #525 7:21AM
