Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself properly...I've been loving MW!! I have a pretty special connection to Disneyland and some incredible memories of Disneyland growing up. My grandpa, Bob Jackman, was the head of the music department at Disney studios for over 40 years and my grandma started there as an animator. That's actually where they met and fell in love! They had the most wonderful parties where the composers like Buddy Baker and Walter Sheets would play the piano and sing and I specifically remember Bill Justice drawing a pic of Chip and Dale on a napkin for me once!! I just recently found out that my gramps has his name on one of the windows in WDW Main Street! I almost fell over when I found this out...can't post the pic bc I didn't take it myself but if anyone's heading to WDW anytime soon I'd be honored if you could post for me! (***I'm reposting to MW WDW to see if anyone can find and post for me! His window says, "Plaza School of Music-Band Uniforms-B. Jackman" It is a trio of window that he shares with Walter Sheets and Buddy Baker. THANKS to anyone who can find it and share!!) Anyway, sadly he's passed away now but my family and I are about to start archiving all of the great historical stuff that we find. I'd love to share some of this stuff with you guys if anyone is interested. Now I'm all grown up with 2 daughters of my own and try to get to DL as much as possible :) Thanks, everyone!!

What an amazing story. That is a beautiful history and memory you have to share of your grandfather. I love hearing things like this. And anything about walt disney's life and that time period is also truly fascinating to me. I'm sure someone will be there to find it and come across your grandfather's name. Well . . . MW Family, our last night here as arrived. Tomorrow we are headed to MK for a few hours then hit the road and hope to drive at least 9 hours to get to Chattanooga! We plan to enjoy some more of The Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom and maybe each ride our fave ride (I haven't done Jungle Cruise yet, which I love). Sweet dreams all!

Day 2 at Animal Kingdom. Well, thanks to the sleepy heads we didn't get there until 11:30 so we didn't get to do much :( I tried to meet up with Jaysen, but just missed him a few times and couldn't get to the broadcast because of a 3:00 show we went to. Spent a few hours at DTD and ate at Rainforest Cafe. Met with Liza and her family, was good times!! Now that I'm up late, might be a late morning for me too. Epcot tomorrow, but don't need to get up too early as we have 2 days there!! Will put up pictures tomorrow night from today!
Sounds like a full fun filled day. Tell the sleep heads they have to make the most of the trip. Sleep later. Lol - 5disneylovers

When my kids were younger we did the early rising and the late stays with the park hoppers. Now we take the grandkids and it's not so early any more but we try and be at the parks by 10 and we usually stay till close. Sometimes not, it's what they want to do and this year it seems they want to stay and do fireworks. I'm so excited. Have a great vaca. - mmddgp
