Hi MW WDW! I'm a CM at DL and I'm planning to go to WDW in January. It will be my first visit ever to WDW. Any tips for a first time guest??
Definitely do the dining plan. It's not a big deal at dl but it's so worth it at wdw. Also spend more time at epcot and animal kingdom since nothing is like it at dl. Dl has nothing on the magic kingdom. When are you going in January? We are going then too. Weather is usually decent in January too. Have fun! - disneyrunmom

Make dining reservations at the 180 day mark. There is a lot to do so try to plan out a tentative schedule to make the most of your time. You don't need a car unless you plan to go off property. From what I have heard, January is a great time to go, enjoy!! - Andrea84

Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster in Hollywood Studios are awesome! World Showcase in EPCOT is fun to shop and to eat, or drink, ;) around the world. - PixieDust76

Welcome let's just say relax and enjoy all of what WDW as to offer. Around the world at Epcot followed by illuminations for sure. Have to go to HS ride ToT, rockin roller coaster, star wars, Indiana jones, lights motors action stunt show and fantastic. Animal kingdom, Expedition Everest, safari, dinosaur. All the parades, food, fun you can have just enjoy it. DTD is a fun place to shop. Never know about the weather but both water parks are fun you can also do some miniature golfing fantasia fairways is fun and winter summerland. Enjoy! I think pin trading is bigger at wdw. More cm seem to wear them at wdw we have a much easier time finding ones we want. Haven't done much trading of vinyls so I'm not sure on those. - disneyrunmom

BBM! I know you well by your DL posts! Tips: go see the three other parks since they are unique to WDW. Eat at many different places also unique. Lastly, have a blast at MK enjoy the differences. You will miss going between parks quickly since WDW is huge. We hope to see you at DL next time we are there! - RangerDoug

You can Go on WDW.com and order personalized maps so you can start looking on how much magic there is! Having visited DL about once a year for 20+ years before my first trip to WDW, I found it overwhelming. Appreciate WDW for what it is and don't get hung up on what it's not (DL). Stay as long as you can and take advantage of hopper passes. There is a lot to see & do and everything is very spread out! I am now very proud to say WDW is my favorite Disney destination! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad

How long are you going for and if you're looking for hotel advice, which level are you thinking? If you have time check out the different hotels with great lobbies and restaurants. Eat buffet breakfast (you won't need lunch) at BOMA (Animal Kingdom Lodge) and Chef Mickey's-Characters (Contemporary), regular breakfast or meal at Whispering Canyon Café-in character western CMs (Wilderness Lodge). Walk through the Grand Floridian and take the boat ride around the lake in front of it to MK even if you don't go to that park you get to a transportation hub. There are threads about restaurants on here it would probably be easy to search for. - Westcoast
