I was in it when points were $85 a piece. Now they are $115!! The maintenance fees are insane. If u do decide to buy look at the "used" market u can get deals from people trying to unload their timeshare. I have found that u get better deals when Disney does their special offers. We are members and enjoy it very much. I suggest you take the tour. They don't pressure you. If you do look into resales, make sure you realize there are some restrictions on how points can be used such as you can't use them for cruises,etc. - Jalex239  379.8 #7 9:43PM

Been members at The Boardwalk since 2000. It has enabled us to take longer vacations, bring family or friends that otherwise would not have been possible. Take the tour and see if its for you. We've been members since 2002 - we bought when it was $80/point. Glad we made the leap. We think that, in about 10 years, it pays for itself. I've been a DVC member for about 12 years. For the first 5 years we were always borrowing. I've been adding on ever since. Just bought more at Ulani. Our first purchase was paid for in 3 years. The main benefit for us was that we are a family of five and that's always 2 hotel rooms or a suite, which is much more expensive than DVC. DVC has truly spoiled us into being used to great suites now. I'm at Saratoga Springs right now. Free Internet :). We used points to take the DCL to Alaska last June. Sorry! I didn't explain it clearly. DVC direct purchases from Disney have all benefits. The resales do have some limitations but anyone interested should take the tour and decide after weighing the options. For us it's well worth it. - Jalex239  379.8 #7 11:25PM

We took the tour a few months back and are very interested in joining, however, we are also going to be purchasing our first home in the next year or so. If we were to finance the cost of the club is it like taking a loan or more like taking a mortgage?
