Good morning, this is where they are starting to build the new poly villas for DVC and also we were told one of the other buildings there were to be converters . Now on another note, the magic band... Did not care for it at all, it's a good concept and I know it's in testing but we had to waste huge chunks of time getting them worked out, I wear a watch everyday but this thing bothered both my hubs and I , I'm not a planner so I don't like having to be where I need to almost every point of the day with FP+ and dining ressies , especially the FP+ times are what they want to give you and we don't like to be in a park all day , as soon as I was able I would take it off , a rm key I just put in my bag and never forgot to "put" it on , everyone should try it for themselves , this is just my opinion , i do hope though that other options become available , because the FP+ will soon fill up like dining ressies , and for a non planner like me these just don't work

A. We'll never use FP+ B. Bad enough that we have to use new passes for the family, which is a real hassle. C. I'm really extremely ticked off (Since this is a family site) that they've destroyed Sunset Pointe for the sake of some blasted DVC rooms! E. Remember to get your sensor cleaned on the camera. That little spot over on the right has been taunting me during your whole trip. - IndyandMarion  1278.9 #4 6:00AM
A. We have cleaned that spot over and over B. I had to find some way to annoy you - tracsant  1477.7 #2 6:25AM
Hee hee, Indy, you forgot D. - mrsincredible  1189.4 #5 6:29AM
No no it's inside the camera itself. Were you cleaning the lens? - IndyandMarion  1278.9 #4 11:07AM
Ah I see that dot. They told us if we wanted to know if our sensor is dirty try taking picture of the blue sky. - islandgirl58  452.9 #18 1:42PM
I thought it was my phone the whole time lol - 5disneylovers  1152.4 #6 2:57PM
NO. Get a blank WHITE sheet of paper. Turn the mode to Aperture mode. Crank the ISO to 100 (or the lowest your camera will go) change your f/stop to at least 16. Zoom in as far as you can go with your lens and fire a few shots off. You'll see the dust and debris on the sensor if any is there. Word of WARNING. If you see it, DO NOT clean it yourself unless you're trained to do so. Take it to a camera repaire center otherwise. - IndyandMarion  1278.9 #4 3:42PM
@5DL I was trying wipe my screen lol - islandgirl58  452.9 #18 4:35PM
I think the main reason why magic bands were bought in was family with kids. For adults you want to ride splash, tot, space mountain etc. but when you have kids you use them to get their fav characters with little wait. The rides you can allways get fast passes for but to make kids stand in 50/90 min ques is just plain nasty and mean. If you use you fast + properly you don't use it for rides unless it's tsmm so to all of you that don't like them think of the people that can only visit the parks maybe once every 2 years instead of people that take it for granted. I am sorry but I loved the magic bands and it annoys me that people don't understand the concept of their purpose - puddy77  266.9 #1192 1:31PM
I am one of those people that can only visit the park every few years. Also if you think a wait for something is to long, then don't stand in the line. No one is forcing you to do that. - Lelundrial  656.3 #304 1:34PM
I'm not trying to annoy anyone , I'm giving my opinion only and told said it wasn't for us , but that everyone should try it for themselves , some MWer's asked to let them know what I thought , I get the concept and understand everything about the band , and I have waited extremely long waits with and without kids , but if I don't feel like waiting I don't I know being at disney it's rarely a walk on , but also with my husbands work it's pretty impossible to plan any trip more than maybe 4 mths at the most and that's rare , so if the bands become the norm than just like dining the FP will be very hard to get for us to get anything available , we had a lot of problems with them which I totally get that they are in testing stages but I also didn't want to waste and an hr almost daily trying to get it worked and and times they couldn't work it out , so again this was my opinion only and I just didn't care for it and wouldn't want to use them again - tracsant  1477.7 #2 1:57PM
Beautiful view. My take on the bands: my husband loved having it on his wrist, I didn't mind it was very hot and made me hot but I bought the wrap for it and it made it much better. We are not park hoppers so scheduling a fp + or two is good for us just so I don't have to run and get one. We did book some and at MK didn't use them because we were there at park opening and were able to do all of them before the passes were able to be used, so if you are earlie risers book them for earlier in the day. At Ak there were problems with the reading of the bands to get into the park and then we did do a lot of waiting around for the fp to come available and I felt I did a lot of back tracking, but that was my fault. It was very nice having it for test track and that is all we used it for. We used it for toy story and tower at studios and that was great also. It was great not fumbling for the card to get into the room at night. We didn't have dinning attached to it but it seemed those using them at the register to pay, it was a little awkward. My grand kids are excited the get them the next time we go. Have a great day😘 - mmddgp  948.2 #7 5:56AM
Just one suggestion for early risers that plan to stay in one park all day (or most of the day), schedule your FP's for mid-day or early evening. Then when you get their early at rope drop, ride all the rides with no wait times (we did this at MK in Fantasyland our last morning and rode everything twice back to back with no wait), and then have some lunch and when the park gets busy, you have your FP+ and won't have to wait in line to ride the rides again (or ride something that you missed in the am that was on the other side of the park, etc.) - mrsincredible  1189.4 #5 6:27AM
there, not their* - mrsincredible  1189.4 #5 6:27AM
The bands kind of bothered me on my arm, too... I didn't see the wraps, wish I would have. I would almost have prefered to take it off and put it in my bag vs. wearing it all day. Made my wrist all sweaty, lol. - mrsincredible  1189.4 #5 6:28AM
That's what I meant to say! Not schedule them early but that was what I thought of after the fact. Loved the wrap, only thing is you can only do the wrap or the bling not both - mmddgp  948.2 #7 6:32AM
Because I am an avid planner and plan every single detail before we leave the house, I liked the concept of the bands. They worked for us in that sense. The one issue we had with them was, theoretically, you're supposed to be able to update them as you use your FP's, so you always have 3 scheduled (though I could be wrong about that). So, after we rode TSM, I logged into the site from my phone and added another. Great concept, but it was almost impossible for the thing to load, took forever and drained my battery, and then one screen showed the updated FP's and the home screen showed my original FP's, so wasn't entirely sure the new FP was actually going to work when we got to the ride. It did... so I guess you can change them once you use them and add more. Just takes forever from a cell phone and doesn't update the site automatically (or it did and the blasted thing was just so slow it wasn't showing me the updated version). - mrsincredible  1189.4 #5 6:34AM
I was seriuosly walking the park with my family (so as not to hold them up) with my head down completely focused on my phone and updating the FP's from one end of the park to the other. That was kind of a bummer. - mrsincredible  1189.4 #5 6:55AM
I think also there are Spots in the parks that you can update at also. I saw people using them but didn't try it. - mmddgp  948.2 #7 11:29AM
Well, I haven't worn a watch in years and don't like to wear jewelry when it's hot. We'll see if the Magic Band bothers me. I enjoyed booking my FastPass+ (I've always been a planner too) and expect to use most of them. I like this program in theory, but the jury is still out until I experience it! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1397.0 #3 7:39AM
My opinion with magic bands... 50/50 good and bad relationship... GOOD SIDE: i can make a last minute fastpass+ if i want to (especially to a ride that got at least 75mins wait time). Also, it is my alternative to my actual room key and park ticket. (I was able to link my room key and park ticket without any hassle)... Bad side: makes ny wrist sweat and it is kinda annoying (glad i went there when it is not SUPER HUMID). Also, it is not properly secured on my wrist! (It almost fell when i was riding Expedition everest and Rock n Roller coaster!, it is scary that im holding it while i was trying to get a hold on the safety bars of RnR). Is the band WATERPROOF??? I forgot about it... - otilegna  2668.6 #48 7:47AM
Yes it's waterproof - tracsant  1477.7 #2 4:17PM
Perfect... One good point for the bands... - otilegna  2668.6 #48 4:56PM
Hopefully the decor is polynesian inspired for that hotel :) - otilegna  2668.6 #48 7:48AM
That is exactly my feelings on these bands. I was not happy to see they are issuing us these bands for our upcoming trip. I only plan dining and that is it. I have no clue as to what park we are going to start at. This really took the spontaneity away from me. I disliked the system having to try and plan those FP times. Which were a pain in the rear. After just having to deal with that, I sent them a long email with my thoughts on this system. Looking at the list I made, I have a feeling we are not even going to be able to keep all our ride FPs. - Lelundrial  656.3 #304 7:58AM
Personally so excited and can't wait for DVC at the Poly. Sorry Indy I know it blocks your view. Your the greatest so I know you will find another spot equally as good or better. As for the new bands I really don't care for the idea but will have to wait until July to try them and see. - Pooh147856  355.0 #24 11:28AM
We loved the bands. We like to plan and loved not having to rush to get fast passes. My son wore it and never had any problem. I on the other hand don't like stuff on my wrist so I just switched it to the other wrist every couple of hours and I was fine. The only bad thing was the extra stuff you can buy to put on the bands don't stay on very well within hours we lost out band bling. Otherwise we loved the bands. Ps loved all the pics. - dapserhouse  25.1 #150 2:25PM
Thank you - tracsant  1477.7 #2 4:17PM
We has fastpasses for test track and when my magic band glowed blue but my boyfrien's glowed green they still let me in, later to find out my fast pass was somehow changed from other family. Moreover- it seems anyone can fake a fast pass right now since the magic bands still give "problems" - Boardwalkgirl  55.9 #101 2:36PM
I hope you get an option cause I don't know about something on my wrist. - 5disneylovers  1152.4 #6 2:56PM
Can you get a card as a backup? - MicheyMouse  359.3 #645 3:24PM
Right now you still get the room keys - tracsant  1477.7 #2 4:16PM
I hope they will still keep the key to the world card - otilegna  2668.6 #48 4:58PM
I'm sooooooo upset they got rid of sunset point. I always thought that if I ever got remarried that would be the spot. I love Disney and saw a couple get married there. I thought it was so cool. 😣 - Boardwalk245  13.9 #208 5:30PM
I hated wearing the magic band too, not a watch person and when I am hot I don't want the sweaty band on my arm! I chose to secure it on my bag - Betsyboo  21.5 #166 6:57PM
Thanks for the review! - girlonfire  54.1 #102 7:37PM
