MWer of the day, IndyandMarion:)

Here we go again... Who did you inherit your sarcasm from? Who taught you good manners? Was it the same person? - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  826.7 #4 7:31AM
Bahaha. That would be my grandfather, who always called me "pal". My grandparents raised me. My grandmother passes in 1998 so it was just the two of us. He was my Walt Disney. Basically went to Disney whenever I did, most of the time after school and just for a few hours. If there was anyone who could best me in sarcasm, it was that man. We'd go on trip after trip together (We had one of the travel vans with the TV and the works, not an RV, but a step down I guess). He spent 25 years in the Marine Corps (two tours of Vietnam), then, as he said, went on hazardous duty and taught high school (A MCJROTC Class) that I eventually took, had him as my instructor and helped him teach the class for two years so really, round the clock sarcasm. Dealt with that sarcasm..ok Lived with him for 27 years. He took to Marion right off the bat, loved her to death. Last year about a month before he passed he came and asked me how much I had left to pay for the engagement ring (He knew the plans) and he paid the rest off. He ended up in the hospital for what would be the last time the week of my birthday and when we got engaged, he would pass that Friday. The last time I saw him, as I left, I told him "I know you can hear me, but I know you can't answer. Just know that she said yes. You've done what you could to raise me. I've got someone to take over and watch over me. Thanks pal" - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 8:05AM
So really. He gave me both. I know the professionalism, manners and respect came from the Marine Corps side of him. At this point I really don't know if I should have thanked him or smacked him because of it. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 8:07AM
I just had a feeling... I was raised by my grandma. That's where my stubbornness came from! (BTW, your answer made me tear up.) - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  826.7 #4 8:20AM
Sounds like you had a great childhood - tracsant  925.8 #2 8:41AM
I really did. I think that's why I like Disney so much. They were fans, and my grandfather and I would hang out there at lot. So it's always been in my life. I'm just so used to it that it'll never get hold....I think now that I also have Marion, and I've married into a Disney family, that it helps fuel the crazine....like for Disney. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 9:06AM
Oh I totally teared up too! What a wonderful story !! - LateforWonderland  21.7 #148 9:22AM

You're welcome. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 10:03AM
I too teared up a bit at your answer to GDKG's question. And I too want to thank you for all the wonderful pics, videos advice and especially the way to make time for all the MWers you can that are in WDW and want to meet up. The personalized experience that not many others can have is wonderful of you & Marion. Ok here's my question : what is your most favorite restaurant out of all the parks? - Tinkerbell1265  441.1 #14 10:40AM
Gah. Ill go with Cosmic Rays. It has a huge selection of food. And cool entertainment with Sonny Eclipse - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 10:47AM
Ahh...ALF's brother's place. :) - Tinkerbell1265  441.1 #14 10:52AM
Okay, one more... What is your favorite story about Walt? - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  826.7 #4 3:54PM
"I think it's important to have a good, hard failure when you're young." A good story about him. I've had a few of them and its helped. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 4:08PM
Why do you hate the ballon that is the question everyone wants answered. - 5disneylovers  835.9 #3 5:21PM
Well Tracy already asked that one. So see above. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 6:38PM
Ha ha I don't buy That answer. Lol - 5disneylovers  835.9 #3 7:38PM
What's your end game? Do you want to own your own photography studio. What do you want to be when you grow up ha ha do you still frown on being my personal photographer next month? Ha ha - 5disneylovers  835.9 #3 6:14PM
I'm just enjoying it right now. At the moment, my manager at the Studio I work for is "grooming" me to become an assistant manager (Even though I technically already am). And as long as I'm available, I'll be your personal photographer. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 6:39PM
Yay. Your probably a million bucks an hour. Ha ha. Seriously your do awesome as a photographer. You must figure out get publish make a book something while remaining grounded and don't forget MW. - 5disneylovers  835.9 #3 7:40PM
If you were to change one DW restaurant to make it better, what restaurant would you choose and what changes would you make? - mrsincredible  785.0 #6 7:15PM
Well A. I'd close both Rainforest and T-Rex with no replacements. Cosmic rays...I'd like to see an update to Sonny. New music. I'd close Mama Melrose and put in the originally planned Gonzo's Pizzaria (not the name but I can't remember it off the top of my head) - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 2:54PM
I really enjoyed reading all your answers. It was nice getting to know you more. Have a great day - mmddgp  385.8 #17 6:12AM
Madden was asking about you tonight. Hey mom, remember that guy with the camera and stuff and he let me use his camera? Yeah he was pretty cool awesome....and there ya have it. Chris is a bigger memory for kids than MK. Lol*+.*+.*+. - CinderellaPrincess85  194.6 #36 9:29PM
Hahaha. That kid....AirBugTrain dude - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 5:24AM
And he still calls it that! Even though he knows its a monorail. I thinks its hilarious and now he has Kate saying it. - CinderellaPrincess85  194.6 #36 7:08AM
Who/what started your interest in photography? - tracsant  925.8 #2 5:12AM
Well I've been doing it since about 98 when my grandfather and I got annual passes (after a long hiatus) again. I wasn't big into it then but I was doing more as an archive thing because the parks were going through massive changes at that point. In 2002 I went to Italy and Greece, that is when I sorta took off on photography. Went to London and Scotland in 2003, Madrid, through southern France and through Italy and Rome again in 2004 (actually arrived in Madrid the night of the morning that the train bombings happened). When I left Disney I had a lot of ppl asking why I wasn't doing my photo as my career (didn't want the hobby to be ruined by the career). I was given the chance to work with NASA/Kodak and at that point I really dug into it. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:01AM
What is your favorite Disney movie? - amajam  20.8 #150 5:17AM
Seriously. You're going to do this to me? I'm going to do TOP FIVE in no order: POTC (as a series). Atlantis: the lost empire. Emperors New Groove. Tron, The Great Mouse Detective. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:03AM
Yay! I know you worked at movie ride when you were a CM but did you work any where else? How long did you work as a CM and how long as it been since you have been gone? Have a great day - mmddgp  385.8 #17 5:18AM
Lets see. May 15th 2003 I started at The Adventure Outpost at Disney's MGM Studios (Worked between there at Star Tours, they were considered at set). Went to Fantasmic! From April 2004 to July 2004 (they were waiting for a spot at Rock n Roller Coaster to open for me). Rock n Roller Coaster from July 2004 to July 2006 (partially as a trainer) Great Movie Ride from July 2006-July 2010) mainly doing the gangster and bandit character. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:07AM
IndyandMarion!?! I think I already played this game! Hmmm, what haven't I already asked you... What is your favorite WDW attraction that is no more? What current attraction do you think needs to be retired (not refurbished, but flat out retired) and why? - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  826.7 #4 5:34AM
Ok here's where it gets tough. Think ill do a list again. Alien Encounter. Horizons World of Motion. The ORIGINAL version of Journey Into Imaginaoion. The Living Seas. 20K leagues under the sea (my absolute favorite) - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:09AM
What needs to be retired.....Aladdin's Flying Carpets (really destroys the area theming, older people will remember that area when it was all jungle)....The entire Chester and Hester Dino, just make it the original area again. Backlot Tour (a shell of a shell of its former glory) American Idol. The current Journey Into Imagination and The Living Seas With Nemo and Friends. Tomorrowland Speedway. And simply based on continuity: Stitch's Great Escape - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:14AM
Favorite park?? - Tazhalo  72.8 #74 5:35AM
I specialize in Wildlife photography so Animal Kingdom. It's just sucks beautiful park with so many hidden paths and features. That's the problem. People are so GO GO GO and they complain there's nothing to do at DAK....open you're eyes and LOOK. Photography aside....lets go back to 1998 and ill say the Studios. Flash to today....again with photography not a factor, Epcot. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:17AM
What do you love most about living in FL and so close to WDW? - Andrea84  629.4 #7 5:40AM
Living in Florida and close to WDW. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:18AM
Ok fine. The rich history (Hello St. Augustine). The hidden not well known beaches that Marion and I go to. I keep going to this but the wildlife (and I'm not talking the croc wearing tourists or the herds of brazilians) and the opportunities for wildlife photography. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:20AM
What do you enjoy about visiting the parks the most? - DizneyGirl  568.5 #8 5:51AM
While its getting tough (thanks Starbucks)...there's a quote that Walt said, and I can't remember it exactly, about being able to come to the parks and forget about the "real world". I think the story telling that the imagineers do on ORIGINAL attractions. It just seems like it doesn't work on things that are based on something (Stitch's great escape. The little mermaid, for example). No I'm talking about Everest, Countdown to Extinction, POTC and Haunted Mansion, Mission: Space. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:24AM
What is your favorite ride? - mzdisnee  445.6 #13 6:16AM
How dare you ask me this. Another list. Potc. Mansion. Mission:Space. Rock n Roller Coaster. Tower of terror. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:26AM
What is you fav treat - jeri814  104.5 #60 6:39AM
It's one that's no longer available (lucky I can make it at home) but it was called a Kungaloosh which was a drink at the Adventurers Club. ....but sour cherry balls and on occasion a Dole Whip. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:27AM
Gah! I totally forgot today was Tuesday. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 6:55AM
What would be your perfect day at WDW? - BagGal  221.4 #31 7:03AM
Loaded question. No Brazilian tour groups. ECV drivers watching where their going. .....but since that's impossible. Marion, a few good friends. Partly cloudy 70s weather and the camera. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:29AM
Hey, just because I ran over your foot once...geez. - Tinkerbell1265  441.1 #14 12:44PM
What is the one must-do at WDW? - goofygal  6313.3 #11 7:05AM
Anything beyond the property archway, except Stitch's Great Escape. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 7:29AM
Have you visited any other Disney parks besides DL? I remember you saying you helped build this app. How did that happen? Right place right time or are you friends with admin? Well whatever the answer thank you!! Because you visit wdw so often have you done everything or do you have a bucket list like the rest of us? πŸ˜ƒ - Schramke  412.2 #16 8:43AM
We plan on a trip to Disneyland Paris but that's many years down the road. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 8:54AM
As far as the app goes, I signed up when I went to Disneyland in November 2009, so really when it was getting off the ground. I can't remember exactly how it all happened but I think I might have emailed Admin asking if there were plans for a WDW version of the app. Either way I remember the "issue" being that with WDW being tourist based, we weren't sure if it would take off like DLs did. And we were right on the tourist based, a good majority of our side of the app is made up of tourist and out of state people. When Admin got a working version of WDWs going, I began looking at what needed to be put in for wait times (attraction wise), food and locations for eating. ToneandMichelle (Those from the DL side will know them better) came out for about a week on a non related to the app trip, but we tested things as well together. The rest is sorta history as they say. As far as the future for the app, I don't want to go into details. Admin and I have talked about updates. I've given suggestions but nothing is in stone. One thing I'd suggest to all of you is to get the word out about the WDW version of the app. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 9:00AM
As far as seeing things, I've done all I've wanted. Tours included. There's somethings I haven't done because it just doesn't interest me (few of the tours). If Marion could get a discount on the Wild Africa Trek, I'd consider doing it. I haven't done a lot of the table service locations, just because we don't have kids or we don't have a reason too (Cinderella's table, crystal palace). But again, I've done the dining locations that I WANT to do. The rest, if a situation presents itself, I'd do it. Otherwise I'm not in a ZOMG I MUST GET RESERVATIONS.......on a photography standpoint. I do actually have a list, but it's more of a "I have it already, I just want to bust my lip trying to improve the shot" list. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 9:03AM
Hey you!! Lol when did ur obsession of Disney begin and where did u and ur lovely wife meet? Also thanks for standing up for mw and all ur wonderful pics u post all the time for us. I was really bummed we couldn't have a meet up but there's always next time. - yessy  187.4 #38 9:46AM
Ill say 1988. That's the first footage I have of me running around WDW. My wife and I met working at The Great Movie Ride. And next time you're down (any idea when?) we will meet up! - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 10:06AM
Thanks ill let u when ill be back home so we can meet. - yessy  187.4 #38 10:29AM

This one has been asked already but I don't see it.. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 11:55AM
Here. Ill post it again.... After spending so much of your life being one, do you miss being a CM? - nightmaresally  10.7 #221 12:19PM
Not really. Michelle tells me how things are now. Certainly don't. And my ankle doesn't bother me as much anymore as well. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 12:42PM

Ok I'm gong to ask the question many are wondering ...... Why do hate balloony so 🎈? - tracsant  925.8 #2 2:48PM

Hi! I just wanted to say thanks for all the great info and pictures! You do so much to contribute to this site and for the people here. I know it was said before, but I agree! Have a great night! - DisneyLisa78  41.1 #103 3:22PM

I love your photos! Are you a cat or dog man? Or both? - ally  507.5 #11 7:20PM
Both. But we currently have a cat. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 6:08AM
When/if you and Marion have children.. How long do you think you will wait for their first trip to WDW? - nightmaresally  10.7 #221 8:31PM
We've talked about it. But we're way to active to have kids right now, if ever. Honestly, it's a good idea to wait until their at least one or two so they'll actually remember it. But with the way I do WDW, a kid just doesn't seem like a good idea unless they can hold camera gear at a week old. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 6:09AM
Those strollers hold a lot of sh**! Just sayin..., - timonT  253.4 #25 12:42PM
Look at it this way...kids = new photo/video perspectives. :-D - Tinkerbell1265  441.1 #14 3:10PM

Just HAD to ask - ariel116  98.4 #63 9:21PM
No I never did actually. Because if I did leave it at home by chance, I had a backup in my locker. During the time at GMR I never had to wear one. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 5:25AM
Darn it! - ariel116  98.4 #63 5:57AM
It's still early and I just woke up. What were you getting at? Just so I'm clear. - IndyandMarion  1236.9 #1 6:22AM
