Had to take a breather from trip planning. I just cannot decide which days at which parks, for many days :) The first full day we are there AK is supposed to be crowded, but it's my daughter's favorite park . . . so we have to go there first . . . ugh! No, really, I enjoy the planning! Just wish a fairy was on my shoulder helping :)

You'll get it all figured out !!!! It's all worth it in the end !!!!!!! - skcanfield  563.4 #15 6:10PM
We usually go for 10+ days. It is hard to figure out an itinerary but I know you have to because of reservations. We usually leave a couple days open towards the end so the kids can pick where they want to go back to. We then make reservations at less crowded restaurants at those parks if we can - Disneyaddict  374.7 #606 6:40PM
Great idea - DizneyGirl  936.0 #8 7:38PM
I plan a "greatest hits" day similar to Disneyaddict's idea. That day, we don't have any ressies anywhere. It's a free day so that my munchkins can decide what they want to go ride/see again. This last trip, we spent our greatest hits day at New Fantasyland. (Of course! πŸ˜‰) - BagGal  340.9 #25 8:32PM
Another great idea! - DizneyGirl  936.0 #8 5:30AM
Sorry. I'm sure you figure it out. It's getting nice. How may days are you to be at wdw? - 5disneylovers  1152.5 #6 1:38PM
I'm slowing working out the kinks! My 6 year old decided to wait one day to go to AK to avoid the high crowds, I'm so proud of her! We will be in the area for 13 days and will go to Disney 9 or 10 days. I think the more days, the harder it is to make a good agenda. I'm thinking about planning the things we want to do for sure and playing the rest by ear. - DizneyGirl  936.0 #8 2:06PM
Are you doing water parks this time around since you have so many days - mmddgp  948.8 #7 4:19PM
We are doing a water park. Other family members want to go to another water park, but I'm working on it. - DizneyGirl  936.0 #8 5:27PM
It was the most crowded as I have ever seen it this past week. We couldn't ride the rides during the day, had to wait until after Wishes, but we made the best of it. Shopped, ate BOG QS, saw the afternoon parade, and watched the Confectionery CM's at work. I was bummed that I missed Peter Pan, my fav ride, but I just could not see standing in lines longer than 45 min. It isn't supposed to be as crowded for us in June, so hopefully, we'll be able to ride rides during the day next time! - mrsincredible  1189.8 #5 1:41PM
Tell me about it. I don't know what's going on but when we were there in jan it was crowded. Our first day in the parks mk hit capacity. It's always been slow and no wait when we visit. I guess everyone is catching on that Disney is the place to be lol πŸ˜ƒ - Schramke  664.4 #12 2:04PM
@ MrsI - I noted most of our days there to be 5s and some 8s (out of 10), this is a lot higher than the 2s in September, I'm just glad we aren't going over winter break, I can't imagine 10s, but we have hit them in March and November, just didn't know how much less crowded it could be until we went in September. I'm going to have to have A LOT of patience this trip :) @ Schramke - I found last September to be busier than 2011 and 2010. - DizneyGirl  936.0 #8 2:09PM
It has to be better than this past week with 5's vs 10's. I think we will feel a difference from Sept-Oct vs June, but it is the best time during the summer to go for smallest crowds. I think after this trip, we'll stick to fall from now on. πŸ‘ - mrsincredible  1189.8 #5 2:27PM
Sept, early Oct, and early Dec!! - mrsincredible  1189.8 #5 2:28PM
I've always wanted to go in the summer, when we could stay longer and May/June seemed like the least crowded and a few degrees cooler than all the other summer months. Have done August, it's even too hot for me, LOL! We promised ourselves once our middle one got in middle school we wouldn't pull her out for trips :( I guess the bright side is that at least we get to go! - DizneyGirl  936.0 #8 2:44PM
Yes! I agree... Jonah and Jake are 6 and almost 2, so we may decide to keep them in school once they reach the critical grades. - mrsincredible  1189.8 #5 2:57PM
We've gone 4 times the last week of July - hot and crowded, but yes, at least we were there!! - mrsincredible  1189.8 #5 2:59PM
PS, that's why I chose 6/3-6/7... lowest crowds all summer and kids were out of school! We would have stayed longer but Mr I doesn't have anymore vacation left. We will stay 7-9 days from now on, just worth it not to have to rush! - mrsincredible  1189.8 #5 3:03PM
@Dizneygirl - that's exactly what we did when my son hit middle school. Always went Oct or Nov when crowds were low but now we go over Thankgiving. I'm just happy we can still go. I would try June but my son plays on a traveling baseball team. - disneycm  701.6 #11 3:09PM
The last week at WDW was tolerable to us. We are use to DL crowds. It can take up to 2hrs waiting for fantasmic for a partial view at DL. We stayed on California time when we went. Going to the parks around 1pm and staying at the latest park allowed us to get on rides without waiting too long. - Disneyaddict  374.7 #606 6:35PM
I'm sorry it is so stressful, sending some pixie dust! - ariel116  103.5 #69 2:09PM
I wouldn't classify it as stressful, just I pick a day to go to a certain park, then I rethink it and it doesn't work. I've had about 3 different calendars started, LOL! This is why I want to wing 1/2 of the trip! - DizneyGirl  936.0 #8 2:45PM
I hear ya! We try to plan but once we get there we just do whatever and it all falls into place - ariel116  103.5 #69 3:32PM
You know you love it! You are going to have an amazing time no matter which parks you decide to do each day. Will you have hoppers? If so, it doesn't really matter if you pick the busy park, you can just hop somewhere else! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1397.0 #3 4:33PM
Tiffany - you know me so well! We don't do Park Hoppers, they just aren't worth $1300 more to us. With kids it's a bit more challenging to park hop, they aren't as portable (with strollers and backpacks and such) as I wish they were, LOL! I was actually contemplating hoppers this trip, but not after seeing the price difference. - DizneyGirl  936.0 #8 5:14PM
Understood. I'm just paying for one, so the price difference is worth it to me. $1300 is crazy! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1397.0 #3 5:18AM
What helped me is I checked how busy each park will be on my selected dates at easywdw and undercover tourist sites. Then I chose the least busiest parks. We wanted to see the Star Wars weekend so that will be our busiest day. I think if you plan the first visits to all 4 parks and do some ADRs then you can wing the rest of the week. - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 5:37AM
I have looked at 3 crowd calendars, they are all different, what do you do? Average them out? I've basically listed the one park to avoid for each day and have made some ADRs. We are going to SWW too, knowing it'll be packed. I think I'm going to try the winging it, but that's very foreign to me, LOL. - DizneyGirl  936.0 #8 5:53AM
They are estimates so avoiding the red ones and choosing the green amd yellow would be better choices. We are not hopping so we plan to do each park twice except for one. We are only there for 7 nights, 8 days Plan on using a day for DTD and water parks. - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 5:59AM
Sorry it's getting stressful...but you got this.. You can do it!!!!!!!! - dxcmama  333.4 #26 5:55AM
Keep cheering for me, I'm getting there, LOL - DizneyGirl  936.0 #8 5:56AM
Go girl! It will be lots of fun even without a plan so you will do just great! - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 6:09AM
