Hello MWers, I am fairly new here (less than a month). I am also a novice with WDW planning, it being our first trip. I would appreciate your feedback. But first, let me introduce my family. Me, DH, DS13, DS10 soon to be 11 (with Aspergers, high functioning Autism spectrum) and DD3 who's celebrating her 4th bday during our WDW trip. We are also celebrating 1 year post her winning battle against brain cancer.

Welcome! Ur children r beautiful ! Congrats on ur winning the battle against cancer ! God bless u! - shewsluvwdw  58.0 #98 6:13PM

I do feel the love here :-) - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 6:56PM
Welcome! Congrats on battling (your daughter's) cancer!!! That's AWESOME!!!! Also, congrats on your first trip! Your plan looks great!! I would just second what skcanfield said... Know that you won't get to see/do everything. I had a hard time with that on our first trip. I planned and planned and I was so disappointed when we didn't get to everything on my list (not even close). Now, I ask each family member to tell me the top 3-4 things they want to do at each park (there are 5 of us). This is our must-do list. Then, anything extra that we get to see and do is just the icing on the cake! Of course, some of us have a hard time narrowing down to just 3-4 things, especially in MK! ;) Happy planning! - BagGal  340.9 #25 6:40PM
Totally agree. Kids will need downtime also to hang out at the resort or play at the many play areas. We also have a must do list and hope to do list - Disneyaddict  374.7 #605 6:46PM
I tried to get them involved with planning but they trust me with that. Boys are excited to go but really dont see the need to plan ahead. I would probably make a list of what I think they will like. Thanks for the tip. Its a good starting point. - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 6:54PM
You are coming at a good time because most of the kids here are still in school. When the park hrs are up, it will also be easier to plan. Animal kingdom usually closes early as well as the water parks. - Disneyaddict  374.7 #605 10:02PM
Also be sure to check out the star wars parade. It's really cool - Disneyaddict  374.7 #605 6:42PM
DH and DSs are fans so we plan to see that too. - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 6:49PM
They will be do excited. There is a hoopla show that is so much fun and many characters. I am so excited for you. - Disneyaddict  374.7 #605 10:03PM
I think I have said it already, but just in case I didn't Welcome!! What amazing miracles you have to celebrate and you will be in the best place to do it in. You have a wonderful family. Your line up and dinning choices sound great and some of my favorites. --another favorite dinning in DTD is earl of sandwhich. I could be wrong, but I don't think BOG has breakfast. You will love liberty tree and Hollywood and vine. Coral reef is amazing , ask if there is a table by the glass. The kids will love Disney quest and pizza planet! Wow fun filled magical week - mmddgp  947.9 #7 6:45PM
Yep coral reef is awesome ! I recommend the mahi mahi, and have to agree with mmddgp, u must eat at earl of sandwich in Dtd. Did u have Ohana on ur list? That's a fantastic choice also. - shewsluvwdw  58.0 #98 6:54PM
Sounds like you have a great plan so far, just relax and enjoy your visit! Like others have suggested, chose the things that are most important to see and do because you never have enough time to do everything. Make sure to take time to relax throughout the day, the parks can be very exhausting. Don't forget your First Visit and birthday buttons, just ask when you check in if they don't give them to you! You guys will have a great time! - Andrea84  713.9 #10 7:52PM

Looks like you have been busy - 5disneylovers  1152.4 #6 6:21PM
more like I became a Disney addict and obsessed with planning, lol. - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 6:32PM
Great dining plans, you've been paying attention! The only one I see missing is my favorite dinner buffet, Boma! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1397.0 #3 6:40PM
How's your planning going ? Congrats to your daughter and all the family for you success against cancer - 5disneylovers  1152.4 #6 6:15PM
Congrats & welcome !!! Your plan looks very good . The only change I would make is to allow some down time to enjoy your resort . Remember , you won't be able to see & do everything !!!!! - skcanfield  563.2 #15 6:27PM
Hmmm..not sure what to take away..will AK take a whole day? It could be a resort afternoon. We do want at least a day at DTD and try Disney Quest and Water park at least once. - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 6:37PM
An won't take the whole day . That would be a good day . - skcanfield  563.2 #15 6:41PM
I also plan to take midday breaks at the resorts except at AK and maybe our first HS-SWW trip. We might decide a different park on our last day. Kept it open with no ADRs. - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 7:08PM
With kids of different age groups and interests, I am struggling with creating a tour plan for each park. I hope to be together with the mild rides and some shows. - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 6:29PM
It is a challenge with just my 9 and 6 yr old. My husband I just started splitting up here and there. The good thing is Disney has something for everyone and they'll all have a good time. - Disneyaddict  374.7 #605 6:41PM
And congrats on beating your battle and going on your first trip! - Disneyaddict  374.7 #605 6:45PM
I have the same problem when I take the grandkids. 18-11-10-8-8-6. It's getting a little better because the 3 little ones will try about anything which makes thing a lot easier. - mmddgp  947.9 #7 7:14PM
Sounds great! I believe you are staying at the port Orleans riverside. We are staying there now and we did the horse drawn carriage. My kids loved it. If you have time, you may want to check it out. - Disneyaddict  374.7 #605 6:38PM
yes thats where we are booked. It does seem there are lots to do even at the resort. - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 6:48PM
The resort is gorgeous. On top of family bikes, boating, and carriage rides, they have poolside activities all day, camp fires, and movies under the stars. This was the first time we did the activities and my kids loved it.y daughter kept saying she had fun at the party at our hotel. - Disneyaddict  374.7 #605 7:32PM
U r a pro!!! - shewsluvwdw  58.0 #98 6:44PM
When are you going. Where are you staying and how many days - mmddgp  947.9 #7 7:02PM
Staying at POR-R for May 31 to June 7. Coming from Toronto, Canada and flying from Buffalo, N.Y. - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 7:15PM
Sorry for the multiple thanks. Tried to post it for each person but not doing it right and tried to delete them too. Thank you everyone for the congratulations and warm welcome. Time for me to go to my night shift. Good night. - nanay2jdr  28.1 #140 7:22PM
