Hey MW, hope all is well. I have a couple questions. Has anyone used travel agent to book their WDW trip? The past two I have planned I used the disney website, I didn't know if you get better deals through travel agent or better to use Disney website again. Trip is still two years away but wanting to get opinions or info to talk it over with my sister in law. The other thing is we are wanting to make some of our own matching shirts to wear and I was wondering if those of you who have made shirts would mind sharing pics of shirts so I can show sister in law and we can get ideas? You can email pics to dwan.green@att.net if you are willing to share your creativity with us. Thanks in advance me family!
I had a friend book theirs through an agent, their whole trip including tickets, stay at all star music, dining plan and air from kc was $3000. And that is for this April, I thought that wad pretty good. Oh there are 2 adults and 1 kid. - ccmom  175.5 #30 1:07PM
I've heard that Costco always has a good deal for Disney trip. Might try them next time myself. - dadwholovesdisney  32.1 #99 2:22PM
I was a travel agent and Disney destination specialist. I booked the same package for my clients that you can book on the Disney website. There are other companies that offer WDW packages, so shop around. Also, don't assume that a package is always cheaper than each item separately. Price things out both ways. Good luck! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  425.4 #7 2:28PM
With Disney even if you don't have a special now if you learn of one closer to your time they will apply it. No sure you can do that with a travel agent. - 5disneylovers  370.3 #12 3:39PM
The past few years I have used Disney because I have the annual pass and sometimes that room discount is better than anything out there unless you get free dinning for your family. I always check a couple different options and make a choice after my homework. And like CDKG said a package is not always cheaper ( can be mor convenient) so check around it may be worth it - mmddgp  187.4 #26 4:23PM
We have Always gone through an agent but this yr it was so much cheaper to book our airfares online and directly with the airline and with accommodation and passes through the disney website. Other sites and travel agents couldn't get us a better deal even through their wholesaler, so shop around, do your research and get the best deal - bubbaschoice  43.7 #78 5:21PM
I've been twice and both times used the Disney website. Before the 2nd trip we went to AAA to get those prices and even with more people it was cheaper to go through the Disney website and book out own airfare through southwest. If you have time just shop around and see - brodysmommy  246.3 #1061 7:07PM
We find it cheaper to go through Disney. One yr we went through AAA and it was horrible!! We almost did not receive our tickets and they messed up our flight info. By the time everything was said and done we had to pay $500 more then if we booked it through Disney. - Schramke  325.1 #14 7:30PM
I just emailed u pics of the shirts I made. Let me know if u have questions or want to see pics of us wearing them to get a better idea of how they look :) - mzdisnee  231.0 #20 7:41PM
Oh and about the travel agent, we booked our trip in may through Southwest. When I was getting my airline tickets it asked if I wanted a hotel. They had Pop Century avaliable when the WDW website did not and it was cheaper then the price Disney was offering for the All Star Hotels. Always be on the lookout for other options. - mzdisnee  231.0 #20 7:43PM
Thank you all for the tips! We are wanting to stay at AoA when we go but I looked at the map and the standard rooms seem so far from everything and my sister in law wanted a suite for them and I don't think they have suited and standard rooms in same building. So now I'm not sure about it. - txdisneymomma  61.2 #65 8:51PM
i go to disney every other year. I notice it is cheaper to book your flight through either the airline directly or priceline negotiator if you dont mind varied flight times. them i book the hotel room through disney since i like to stay on the property and either use AAA or other discounts for the room and can save upwards of 40% per night. i dont do the disney dining package since i dont like it. I think its better to have food delivered from wegoshops or gardengrocer and have special dinners since u save a lot on drinks and lunch that way. lastly on tickets i like to use my friends military tickets since they are very economical and he can give me up to 8 a year. a good example of cost is in 2011 i went for 9 days ti disney world for 1200 to include flight, hotel, 4 day fun and more tickets for 2 people. food was another 300. have a great time planning your trip as it can be so much fun - athica  8.6 #225 10:14AM
