Good morning everyone. We are live from the studios😃
GERTIE THE DINOSAUR. Created by cartoonist Winsor McCay in 1914. The cartoon itself was an "interactive" 12 minute clip with McCay, using carefully scripted lines, in which he would have Gertie perform tricks. The grand finale was with him going behind the screen and ending up in the clip, riding Gertie as they left the screen. The clip was somewhat of an inspiration to Walt. So, being what Disney's-MGM Studios was, they decided to add her in as a reference (and homage) to a great moment in animation history. - IndyandMarion  912.8 #1 12:32PM
