Jan 23, 2013 3:18 PM  WDW Talk Land
Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce myself. I'm not new to MouseWait, but I am from the "West Side" so to speak. I live just a few minutes away from Disneyland, I practically grew up at the park. But I will be making my VERY FIRST trip to Disney World next month and I can't wait! I've dreamed about visiting Walt Disney World ever since I was a little girl. My parents could never afford it when I was a kid, but now that I'm grown I finally have the time an the money to take a trip of this magnitude. Included is a picture my boyfriend took of Sleeping Beauty Castle here at Disneyland. I look forward to finally being able to stand in front of Cinderella's castle and seeing it for the first time in person.

Hi and welcome to the FLip side , you are so going to love wdw , I totally get what you are saying that's how I feel about DL , I'm planning a trip there at the end of the yr, beautiful pic btw:) - tracsant  912.2 #2 3:23PM
FLip side...I like it! I am over the moon about this trip. This is the first real vacation I've ever taken. I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to Disneyland 'cause I'm a passholder and I go to the park about once every two weeks, sometimes more. But as for WDW, I'm soaking up every little thing I can find or read about Disney World, I've got nothing but WDW on the brain! Even when I'm at Disneyland all I can talk about is what I'm gonna do when I get to Florida. Lol - NotNKansasAnymor  204.9 #1785 4:06PM
Are you staying on property ? I could talk disney all the time , whatever questions you have ask away - tracsant  912.2 #2 4:27PM
Yes, we are staying at the Coronado Springs Resort and we will have six days in the parks. I think as far as attractions and shows I kinda know what I'm doing, but clue. I'm not sure where the best places to eat are and what they offer. - NotNKansasAnymor  204.9 #1785 4:38PM
Coronado is a great resort I don't think you'll be disappointed , dining can be a bit hectic , most table service restaurants you have to book well in advance , there are so many to choose , let us know what you like and I'm sure we can all make 100 suggestions , as for quick serves I recommend trying be our guest they do it for lunch which starts at 10:30 so if you get on line at 10 or 10:30 it shouldn't be a long wait and it's well worth it - tracsant  912.2 #2 5:38PM
Hi and welcome to our side!! Your first trip will be magical!! - ccmom  184.1 #40 3:51PM

Hello and welcome! You're gonna love WDW! - disneycm  530.6 #10 4:15PM
Hi welcome. It must be exciting to finally get to see WDW. Your going to have a blast. How many days are you going for and where are you going to stay? - 5disneylovers  773.9 #5 4:17PM
As Tracy said, welcome to the FLip side! I grew up going to DL too (I live in Seattle) and took my first trip to WDW as an adult. While there are many similarities, DL & WDW are very different! Try not to get too hung up on the differences and enjoy WDW for what it is. No amount of research can fully prepare you for your first visit (I was a travel agent & Disney destination specialist on my first visit, and I was totally unprepared!) Try not to feel overwhelmed and have fun! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  801.1 #3 4:25PM
You may never look at Disneyland the same way. I grew up out there as a child too. Moved back East and started going to WDW. Visited Disneyland last summer and was disappointed. So very small in comparison. Still its Disney. - Experiment869  152.7 #49 4:44PM
Welcome! WDW is just so much bigger and spaced out. A lot of your favorite rides will have small differences in WDW. There are pleanty of new attractions as well. Have a great time. Dont forget your Photpass + its worth every penny. I made a book on shutterfly when we came home from WDW. - pinkmonkeys  513.5 #338 4:59PM
Welcome you are going to love it here and in DW. A first visit is so exciting. There are so many food choices that are amazing. Do you have the dinning plan - mmddgp  374.7 #18 5:11PM
Great picture!!!! - mmddgp  374.7 #18 5:12PM
Yes do make your dining reservations as soon as you reach your 180's much harder to get the popular restaurants in Wdw...dl is so much easier... - islandgirl58  251.7 #25 5:51PM
Welcome!! I never went to WDW as a child, as we could never afford it, and we lived too far away. Now that I am grown with children of my own, we have relocated to the South and just took our kids to WDW for their first trip this past April. It was amazing to do something my own parents could not do! Hope you love it!! - ncjal  201.8 #33 6:05PM
Welcome! Have a great time at WDW and we are here to help you with any planning advice you want! - Andrea84  625.8 #7 6:14PM

Hello and welcome! I'm from the 'west' side too. You will love WDW! There's nothing like the first time! - goofygal  6139.3 #11 6:26AM
Beautiful picture! - mgnbr  3.1 #1344 7:52PM
I was a dlander most of my life but moved to mid-west and became hooked on WDW. It made the first trip back to dland feel like it was miniature. Besides the immense size of WDW and 4 parks, be prepared for the differences Haunted Mansion is Brick and pirates is not the same, I miss not having the blue buyou at WDW. Embrace WDW don't spend your time comparing. Restaurants you may consider Be our Guest for Lunch be there before it opens at 10:30(we got in line at 10:15 and were probably 120 back), Boma at Animal Kingdom has different but good food, Chef Mickeys at Contemporaty is wild and crazy fun. Beaches and Cream at Beach Club is a fun soda fountain feel. Have Fun - Betsyboo  17.2 #163 7:49AM
Wow, thanks so much for the tips. - NotNKansasAnymor  204.9 #1785 9:08AM
