Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce myself. I'm not new to MouseWait, but I am from the "West Side" so to speak. I live just a few minutes away from Disneyland, I practically grew up at the park. But I will be making my VERY FIRST trip to Disney World next month and I can't wait! I've dreamed about visiting Walt Disney World ever since I was a little girl. My parents could never afford it when I was a kid, but now that I'm grown I finally have the time an the money to take a trip of this magnitude. Included is a picture my boyfriend took of Sleeping Beauty Castle here at Disneyland. I look forward to finally being able to stand in front of Cinderella's castle and seeing it for the first time in person.

As Tracy said, welcome to the FLip side! I grew up going to DL too (I live in Seattle) and took my first trip to WDW as an adult. While there are many similarities, DL & WDW are very different! Try not to get too hung up on the differences and enjoy WDW for what it is. No amount of research can fully prepare you for your first visit (I was a travel agent & Disney destination specialist on my first visit, and I was totally unprepared!) You may never look at Disneyland the same way. I grew up out there as a child too. Moved back East and started going to WDW. Visited Disneyland last summer and was disappointed. So very small in comparison. Still its Disney. - Experiment869

Welcome! WDW is just so much bigger and spaced out. A lot of your favorite rides will have small differences in WDW. There are pleanty of new attractions as well. Have a great time. Dont forget your Photpass + its worth every penny. I made a book on shutterfly when we came home from WDW. - pinkmonkeys

Yes do make your dining reservations as soon as you reach your 180 day...it's much harder to get the popular restaurants in Wdw...dl is so much easier... - islandgirl58

Welcome!! I never went to WDW as a child, as we could never afford it, and we lived too far away. Now that I am grown with children of my own, we have relocated to the South and just took our kids to WDW for their first trip this past April. It was amazing to do something my own parents could not do! Hope you love it!! - ncjal

I was a dlander most of my life but moved to mid-west and became hooked on WDW. It made the first trip back to dland feel like it was miniature. Besides the immense size of WDW and 4 parks, be prepared for the differences Haunted Mansion is Brick and pirates is not the same, I miss not having the blue buyou at WDW. Embrace WDW don't spend your time comparing. Restaurants you may consider Be our Guest for Lunch be there before it opens at 10:30(we got in line at 10:15 and were probably 120 back), Boma at Animal Kingdom has different but good food, Chef Mickeys at Contemporaty is wild and crazy fun. Beaches and Cream at Beach Club is a fun soda fountain feel. Have Fun - Betsyboo
