Jan 18, 2013 3:54 PM  WDW Talk Land
Hi everyone, so the hubs and I are talking DL this yr for our anniversary , the big 10 , most of you know I have never been , he's from CA and hasn't been in over 20 yrs, so question # 1 , how many days do you need? I know it's 2 parks but is 4 days good or more? Thanks guys;)

You guys will have a great time! 4 days should be a good start to see most things. You can get same day reservations with the exception of a few popular places and there are a lot of good quick service options as well. The nice thing about DL is that you don't really have much to plan, just go and enjoy! If you plan on staying at the Grand Cali villas, book right at 7 months because they book up fast. Congrats on 10 years! - Andrea84  720.8 #10 6:55PM
4 days is enough dont worry about dining most places you can walk right up and eat and it's not like wdw with all the fancy smanchy dinners lol but we have some gold restaurants but you can prob just make reservations the day before as far as rides you'll be fine you'll have time to do everything trust me I finish a park in like half a day haha when are you coming? It would be fun to meet up - Hendizl  2862.8 #49 7:46PM
It will probably be dec but if its too expensive then nov , and I definitely want to do a meet up - tracsant  1502.5 #2 7:53PM
I would make reservations at the popular resturants...especially if your going during a busy time... - islandgirl58  462.1 #19 8:04PM
If you can do early December, price shouldn't be a problem. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1450.4 #3 8:04PM
Curtain restaurants if only 2 of you not to bad...dtd is easier to pretty much eat any where... - islandgirl58  462.1 #19 8:05PM
Yay for 10!!! Congrats !!! Have fun planning - mmddgp  1063.1 #7 4:03PM
Four was good for us. But then again, we were there for a full week for the honeymoon. - IndyandMarion  1278.9 #5 4:10PM
Four days is plenty! When I was a kid, we would go for close to a week but spend 2-3 days at other area attractions (Universal, Knott's Berry Farm, etc.) Now we usually just do DLR and find 3 days are enough. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1450.4 #3 4:31PM
well, 4 days is good enough! Just make sure there will be a Fireworks and WOC! - otilegna  2783.0 #51 5:04PM
What time of year r u going?? - mzdisnee  568.7 #15 5:07PM
So 4 is enough to see and do most things , now is it like wdw where you absolutely need to make dining ? Because with this being the first time I'd rather not have to be tied down to any, sorry for the commenting my reply button isn't working - tracsant  1502.5 #2 5:09PM
You don't need to worry about making ressies in advance unless you want to do something special, like a Fantasmic! (Have I mentioned its WAY better at DL?) or WoC package or something. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1450.4 #3 5:54PM
Do you need reservations for WOC and fantasmic? - tracsant  1502.5 #2 6:32PM
No, but they offer dining packages that help avoid the stakeout and long wait for a decent view. Be advised, both shows are standing room only and there are no amphitheaters at DLR! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1450.4 #3 6:49PM
To be honest though world of color and fantasmic are so easy to see I never really waited but woc you do need a fast pass and you should get it early. - Hendizl  2862.8 #49 7:49PM
Yeah if you do the 2nd show of fantasmic you can find an open area over by haunted mansion and see the show great! It's always less crowded 2nd show so you'll be fine. And WOC will be fine too. I wouldn't worry about that. We don't do sit down meals so I can't advise about that but I think a lot of the times you can make same day or day ahead when there and you should be fine. I would say 4 days is plenty too. Since the parks are right next to each other you don't waste time riding buses back and forth. - brodysmommy  434.6 #519 10:15PM
@mzdisnee our anniversary is aug but I'm don't like the hot weather so we usually go oct or dec but if it def wont be oct so dec depending on price , maybe nov - tracsant  1502.5 #2 5:12PM
Great time of year!!! Early Dec or Nov (avoid thanksgiving) is good. The only reserv that is fun is the Blue Bayou inside the pirate ride and should be made in advance depending on when u go. If you need any help email me [email protected] I can give you any advice you need. I would love to come up to DL and have a meet up too :). Hey maybe it will be the same time Indy plans to come out!! - mzdisnee  568.7 #15 5:24PM
Thanks I will definitely need advice , I don't really know anything about DL , I would love a meet up , I want to do a mr toad one - tracsant  1502.5 #2 6:30PM
If you can do December do it it will make your anniversary more special with the holidays and all the decorations it's truly magical there that time - Hendizl  2862.8 #49 7:49PM
4 days is definitely more than enough time. You can have a take brought to your table at your dinner. - Lelundrial  710.5 #281 5:59PM
Yup I agree 4 days is prefect... - islandgirl58  462.1 #19 6:07PM
You must eat at blue bayou... - islandgirl58  462.1 #19 6:08PM
Four days is good and some really good places to eat are Blue Bayou, Carthy Circle and Catal.:) - ally  509.0 #18 6:12PM
Yay for 10. - 5disneylovers  1160.5 #6 6:14PM
Congrats on 10 years!!! Yes I agree 4 days is enough! :) have fun!!!! - lovetrustpixidust  5.8 #16855 8:47PM
For the WOC, you can do a Dining Package (Picnic Package to give you a fastpass, Carthay Circle Dining for a preferred view). Also, yeah i will recommend to eat at Carthay, a Bigger Replica of the theater... Fantasmic is first come first serve spot... You can get a dessert party for it though... - otilegna  2783.0 #51 9:48PM
And if ur planning to stay at a Disney Hotel, the Grand Californian maybe nice, BUT Disneyland Hotel is more romantic! (Add the Castle Headboard) - otilegna  2783.0 #51 9:50PM
ooh, 10 years...that is great! We are close to 20 years(2016)....maybe we should consider saving for DL. That is a cool plan! - ncjal  294.2 #28 4:43AM
So glad you asked this!! We want to go sometime soon and it's our first time, too!! - mrsincredible  1317.7 #4 5:04AM

MouseWait COUNTDOWN for iOS is here! Countdown the days to your next Disneyland or Disney World trip with our images OR your pics! Your Countdown also displays on Apple Watch and is beautiful on iPhone 6 screens. Secure the discounted launch price for a limited time.

So from the looks of it, there is not even one app made for those of us on android. You know there are millions of people who do not own iPhones. Its kind of rediculous these days not to offer an android version of apps. Would love to help this site grow by donating, but I see no point in that when there appears to be no intrest by the app builders here to support android. I mean how about atleast a partialy functional app so we can feel that the android users are even wanted as a part of the mousewait community. I see lots of requests and sad posts about no android, but dont see any replys by the site to the fact that anyone is even working on it.I've checked back here every so offten to see if there is anything for android users, but never bothered joining until today.I just wanted to rant a little, and now I am done.Unfortunalty, at this point I think I am officaily giving up on mousewait. Thanks for reading  and understanding my frustrations ( i hope ) and please everyone........Have a Disney-tastic day!Mark - molney14u  0.1 #105816 11:05AM
I have an iPhone and an old droid. I use the old droid for wait times when my iPhone can't connect and it works fine. There's so many droid phones to have  separate apps for but I hope android makers would start using the basic same code and security but I'm probably wishing on a star for that . I miss my droid but a lot of apps don't work the same.  - secretagentangel  6428.4 #20 8:10PM
I have the countdown and I love it! - tree320  0.6 #0 9:26AM
Doesn't everyone have a countdown clock on the top of one of their pinball machines?  Unfortunately mine is blank because our DL trip was weeks ago :( - awhittle  0.0 #127457 10:15AM
